Eagle 2 ARF & 4 Stroke Engine?

Bill, I'd settle for that little Saito 170 tripple. It wouldn;t have to be the 325R5!!! I'd pop for the new cowl, paint and the engines collector ring. Please, Bill, please!!!

Shame on you! Anybody who would be satisfied with a three cylinder radial would be happy with a worn out Testor's McCoy 35!
Three pictures attached,
The first is what I'd like to get, absolutely beautiful. Seven cylinder, gasoline, with forced oiling system - oil is not mixed with the fuel. The cost is oin a par with the Seidel 14 cylinder two-bank radial in the secind picture.
As stated, the second is the newest Seidel, way too big for what I want. Also too expensive.
And finally, the 7A Technopower that I can get a pair of, if they will ever build them for me and I can scrape the pennies and nickles together.
Bill.

No, Bill, no McCoy .35 for me. Had two or three back in the late fifties and early sixties. They had an offset plug, if I remember correctly. Were'nt they $4.95? They were okay then, but not now. I still have a Fox '35 stunt and a Johnson .32 somewhere. The Fox is mounted on a Magician.
The radials are cool. I like your style.
Me, I'm cheap! I look at the cost of them. I figure I could get a nice kit, retracts and a honkin gas motor for around the same money.
I actually was looking at the radials for the Stinson, but my wife got me the Saito 300 for Christmas that year. I couldn't be happier with it. I have a couple of Saitos. They both run extremly well. When I go to buy another 4/stroke, it'll be a Saito.
Good luck on your purchase. I'll sit on the sidelines and drool!!!

That's affirm on the Testor's McCoy 35. $4.95 new. Drop $10 bucks at the hobby shop for the engine and a gallon of fuel, go fly.
When the fuel was gone the engine was worn out.
Another ten bucks and go fly some more.
Bill.

Bill, I had a little better luck with them than that. Had 'em for three or four years.
Fuel was cheap for me ( or should I say, my Dad). He had a friend in the chemical supply business that also flew control line. We got the components at cost and mixed our own. I used to fly all afternoon with a buddy, then after Dad got home from work, he and I would fly in the evening. A neighbor had a 40 acre field. He let me mow a 70 foot diameter circle in it to fly. Couldn't be a better setup for a young kid. Sadly, when I visited my mother a year ago, the area is now developed.
It was great to have such good parental support. They even took me around Eastern
Iowa and Western Illinois so I could compete.
Those were the days!!!

3 feet of snow, uphill both ways? Oh wait,...wrong story. :P
HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM - DON DAMN YOU! For adding MORE fuel to the fire to think of. GRRR
My brain is stressed now. Stressed I TELL YOU ALL! MUAHAH
I am excited about anything I go for. I REALLY don't want to end up with a .60 os la so I am thinking of another engine for that approach if I go that route. I am really starting to dislike OS the more I hear about them and their company. The local guys are having their affect on me. My LHS guy wants me to buy another Enya. :| Not sure how I feel about that!
Hmmmmm. Must go parouse TH's again. My LHS guy has a nice Walt Moucha 40-60 size sport plane called the AND WHAT or something like that. Wondering if any of you heard of this. He has it for 40 bucks. It looks almost like the Tiger II from Goldberg and a heckalot cheaper.
Welp. Gnite all. Triptophan kicking in from midnite snack...zzzzzzz..

A 60 size plane for $40? If it's a wooden plane, the wood alone is probably worth that much at today's prices.
And if you have some old junk engine send it to MECoA as a trade on a K&B "Twister" 61, a strong ABC engine, $80 with trade.
The Enyas aren't common, haven't really heard anything bad about them.
My two stroke choice is Magnum and K&B, and with this current deal from MECoA...

Sincraft, If you get another Moucha kit, you will run into the same problems you are having with the bipe!!! As with engines, cheaper kits are not always better. Slow down. Finish what you have and then make your decision.
I find nothing wrong with OS engines. You can't run any engine lean. Don has 32 gal of fuel through hus Tower 40 and they look like a 40FP knock off.
Enya engines are okay, the 2/strokes that is. I don't care for the 4/strokes.
Until recently I had a K and B 61. It was a good runner. Too bad it's gone or I would give it to you.
Put a good motor or kit on your Christmas list. Maybe Santa will smile on you!!!

check this- ya cant even buy a wing kit for this much http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXJA29&P=0
use all your stuff- sell your eagle. dont go down the same road that is frought with frustration (Cheap kits ) go buy a tiger 60 or a four star 60 -you seem to be making the learning curve steeper- those two planes will give you sucsess and satisfaction . these actions are not strange to us we(tom bill and me) have seen others go down that road- as far as engines go any of the major brands are excellent if treated with respect OS engines run really good right out of the box I havent had any enya Bill likes Magnum Two stroke I have two they run sweet I also have two magnum 52 four strokes for my DC3 they run great I have -os four strokes -Saito four strokes- tower two strokes- os two strokes and magnum two strokes all run great -I run em rich- dont worry about every last rpm- Byron fuel 18% oil 10 -15% Nitro
I probably will have these engines for a very long time . stop being frustrated get one good thing at a time and soon you will have good things

Bill, I'd buy 100 acre of flat land with no trees or neighbors!!! You can figure out the rest.

I've gotten some that way too - but the %$# game wardens never let me keep them.
I figured you'd buy the radio gear and the retracts. Buying the land doesn't count, as that's a necessity.

So where do Magnums fall in to the catagory? Between OS and Saito that is.
Snoop (if you are still around) et all here is a link to the party. [link=http://sodbusters.minnesotarc.com/DECEMBER11.doc]Big Party Man[/link]

Barron, I like Saito's the best then, OS. Don's opinion may differ. He ventures out farther than I do. I stay with what I know that works. My opinions are about 4/strokes. The onlt 2/stroke I have at home is a 45 year old Fox .19 CL engine that was given to me.
Have fun at the Christmas party!!!

I'm looking for a good 91 with the pushrods together not split apart like the Saito style more towards OS and magnum. So far I got a OS 70 4-st and that runs VERY well. Got a OS 46 2-st runs well. Got a MDS 61 2-st and runs well, strong, and hot. Got a OS 30 4-st havn't run that yet.

Barron, My two OS 91's run very well. I think you would be happy owning one.
By the way, It's 32 degrees, snowing and windy as heck, right now. It's building time. I actually got some work done on my 190 this weekend!!!

For me, it's Saito. Or Magnum.
Never that "Other" Jap brand. Magnum gives you the same engine for a lower price, and without the mistakes tha "Other" comapny has made, and IS making. Examples are the ABN cylinders while Magnum has ABC. And have you seen the 46AX? Gives a new meaning to cheap. Gone to four head screws, and of all things a plastic needle valve assembly.
Saito. Or Magnum.
