ok well ill keep you informened on that.... the plane at this point weighs 9.978 lbs now its recamened weight is like 5 um with the added weight wqill the plane still fly well i do have a 60 in a 40 plane. and added strength.
#52

At 10 pounds, I wouldn't add any more stuff to it. You definitely have enough sheeting, in the tail alone. The light ply fuselage is quite strong just the way it is. If you have already added the bomb drop, that's the farthest I would go on this. No more. Excess weight equals a narrow flight envelope, with unforgiving stall tendencies. Get it covered, install your OS 61 FX, add skis, and go see how it works.

Your wing loading is probably going to come in at around 28 ounces per square inch at this point. It will be very interesting to see what this plane's glide ratio will look like. If the 61 FX doesn't seem to provide quite enough power, then you could opt for a 75 AX, which would fit the same bolt pattern yet offer more power. Larger wheels would also help accomodate a larger prop, and that may help put more air over the back control surfaces and offer more torque. You will definitely benefit from the use of the flaps. A large prop and lower "gear ratio" coupled with a stump-pulling engine is what gives a 3D plane the capability of flying below stall speeds. That, and the thicker airfoil with larger control surfaces, of course. In your case, I think you'll want tractor-like accelleration and enough muscle to to get that freight to its destination with adquate airspeed

I think the big tires can add some clearance for a 13 x 8 three-blade prop, which I am sure an engine like the 75 AX could drive without much difficulty. It may be the best compromise between clearance and air movement. Be sure to consult with the manual that comes with the engine, as for a 3-blade you'll step down an inch in length and pitch. Besides, I am sure the plane will look better.

well i moved some stuff arond to compensat a little for the heavy engin in the CG. i moved them back far and i made a door at the rear. i also did some weird stuff with fule line out lets

You are going to have to secure that green line fuel filter. I'm sure you thought about that. Just a reminder.
Did you consider lengthing the wing by adding additional wing bays? I hope you didn't mention it and I missed it in my reading of the thread.

i did think of that i was thinking to extra bays to add something like 4 inched bolthsided but how can i do it while keeping the wings strong anuf for flihgt and with the wings l.e. being a peace of dowl how do i lengthin that. alersons i can just make soo no worries there. oh and i already thoght about the securing for the fule lines but i havent come up with a 100% sure way any sugsetions. at this point this build has gone for sooo long and i just wana cover it but soo much arises that i need to deal with. next kits i think wont be too bashes mabie scale lol .....

I'm not trying to talk you into anything here.
Think it over before you attempt anything.
Cut the wing tip off one and a half bays in from the tip of the wing .... in the middle half way between the ribs.
Take the tip piece of the wing, pin it to the bench.
Now butt all the pieces that you need to build the extra bays together, to the tip that is pinned to the bench and build the extra 2 bays.
Epoxy a length of dowel rod that is one bay wide to the back of the end of the dowel that will be re-attaching to the wing.
Do this to all pieces that you cut off the end of the wing. Not with dowel rods but with pieces like the ones you used to build up the extra bays.
Butt the new end pieces that you have created against the wing that it was cut from.
Pin the wing flat against the new piece and epoxy the dowel rods together and zap the other extended pieces together.
It should be straight and even stronger than the rest of the wing.
It took me longer to write this than it takes to do it.

Just thought I'd show you what I did with the wingtips on mine. I didn't change the span at all, but I never liked those plastic tips that came in the kit. The last pic is what I did with the tail after seeing yours.

My LHS is slow when dealing with SIG. They always warn me of that in advance.
Usually when you order from SIG online it is quick.
Doesn't make sense.
Seems like they are trying to eliminate the LHS and do processing online.

Don't blame the hobby shop. I owned and operated one. They order the stuff and the distributer sits on it. THey say it is being shipped right now or tomorrow or it isn't in stock but will be in soon.
The LHS owner feels just as bad as you do because he really does want your business.
I feel sorry for you and the LHS owner/operator.
LOL

lol i love this build i have so much extras that the eagle shouldnt have today i desided to add a weird little like cover to the electronic s door to make it look as if its a cargo door. i keep it on with the same screws as the windsheild and i made a handle out of a nuckle joint on an rc car. well here are some pics so you can understand better.
