I am hoping with the pictures that I add; someone points out something that could be better or would caution me on doing. I am want to make sure that everything is on the center line running from front to rear of the viper. Today I have done some more work on the airlines and just cleaning it up a little more. As soon as the my other parts come in tomorrow I will be able to get a lot more done. I have to thrust tube back in and drilled the holes for the turbine. What I am doing is I have 8/32 harden screws that I will be using to secure the turbine. I will be using locking nuts on the backside of them. I am taking the nuts and using hysol to keep them in place so that all I have to do is unbolt it if needed. I will add pictures of that soon. My new air cylinders will be in tomorrow which I can finish gear doors and speed brakes. I will have the new electronic plates as well. I have planed out how I am going to do my air seq. and fill lines. I think its going to look sweet. I will have two water traps on each side of the seq and then the fill valves in line with the water traps. Once I have that done tomorrow I will send pictures of that as well. The next few things I need to order is the fuel line, filter, trap, fittings and the CB200.

Putting two water traps in jet is just added weight, don't get too caught up in the bling. I was the same way on my first jet. Just put a water trap on the air pump fill line, since you empty the air tanks each time you take the wings off.

I NEED HELP!

Okay so I'm about to order my fuel line, trap, etc but needing a little help. I am putting in the K140g turbine but was wondering if I should you 3/16 fuel line for it from the tank back. I know I will have to replace the stopper in the tank that FB sent me due to the copper tubing not being 3/16. I need help figuring this out. pictures would be nice of your fuel setup.

Thanks guys/gals

This is a place I always over do it, I really over do it on the vent side. I would suggest just using the bvm high flow fuel line, clunk line and even there hi/flow fuel tank fitting. As for air traps I have used MAP hi-flow and now use the interairco hi-flow. Just because they are clear and have easily replaced filters. BVMs hi flow will work as well.

Thanks Keith. I will do that then. I was looking at ultimate jets fuel tank fitting and hardware but I was unsure about it. I will look into BVM and get the pricing down. lol I was looking at the interairco too. I had seen that you had one and was kind of sold on it after seeing yours and reading the reviews. I will be ordering one soon from Chief. DreamWorks is out of stock and has been for a little bit. Another question, do I use the 6MM (3/16) tubing from tank to trap then from trap to pump and from pump to shutoff valve then a reducer Festo fitting from 6mm to a very short 4mm run to turbine? I would think that this would help reduce the flow restrictions. On anther note, I got some items in to almost finish up the wiring. I got the items in form FB and reinstalled the air cylinders and about to hook the airlines up. I am currently working and getting the equipment plates fitted and put in so I can start laying out my placement of items. Here is a few pictures.

If you use the the MAP or BVM I thinks it's more like 8mm but don't quote me on that. I run the large bvm hi flow clunk with the hi flow tank line followed by their hi flow tygon up to the UAT then the same from the UAT with a step down to the size of your pump input with a shutoff after the step down prior to the pump. Then the supplied fuel line from the pump to fuel filter into the turbine. BVM has a nice diagram on their website.

Thanks Keith. Well I have had family in and haven't done much on the viper. I have the turbine in and a few other things. I am still waiting on other parts to come in. So I need some advice again. I was looking at the retract and in the down position/locked I noticed that I can move the gear side to side a bit. Now I am new to the whole retract of this type so I am not sure if this is considered slop but If you don't mind watch my vid and let me know what you think. https://youtu.be/KVD1sc183Ck

Checked the one I'm building and it's the same way. Looks like they made the channel a little big.

Okay folks, I am getting to the last stages in my build and will post pictures soon. I am still waiting on a few small things to come in. But on that note I am about to order my batteries for my Jeti CB 200. I have a mix of JR 8911HVs MKS 777HVs and one MKS 1220HV for the nose wheel. Input Voltage on the Control box is: 3.5-15V. The MKS servos are rated for 7.4V to 8.4V and the JR looks to be rated at only 7.4V. I need help figuring out what is the best or recommended batteries to use. I will being using two on the CB. Please help I am trying to order them this week. I have read other post and I am just a little confused. I like the Life packs but they don't come in 7.4V or does that really matter with life packs? I have also looked at the Lipo packs. This is my first time with all HV and its been a while since I bought any batteries. Thanks everyone.

If the receivers can handle the HV then go with 7.4 lithium ions. If you don't care about the HV servo torque or the receivers can't handle it go with the 6.6 A123 packs from electrodynamics

the A123s can handle it and you can charge them super fast and you don't have to worry about the batteries turning into the flaming taco like the lipos.

What brand of A123's to do you use and what site did you get them from? Also so I was working on the throws on the EL. and the manual says to have them at 30 mm which is about 25 degrees positive or neg. when looking at the throw it didn't look like that would be enough. What throws did you use on the AL and EL? How is the F14 coming along?

This seems to be the best around http://www.electrodynam.com/rc/ Jets don't need very much throw its not like a 3D plane this is why I use servo horns 1 in or less. That way I can keep the end points as close to 100% as possible, 135% is best since it gives you the full speed and keeps the wear equal on the servo.

The F-14 almost got kicked off the stand yesterday, tons of issues keep popping up not to mention im tired of instructions for radio equipment that isnt user friendly. I am having to pull out the old air valves the control my gear and the locks. I am putting two Airttronic valves in so I can slow the gear down to stop breaking the locks. But now I have to redo the airlines for the gear and locks which requires me to tear into the nose again...... I switched to the xicoy failsafe to get the air pressure on my radio for monitoring but it has to have the worst AI of anything I have used.

Okay sounds good. LOL yeah I was just thinking that when trying to compare the throws. At first I was like WOW this is not very much haha. Man I stinks that you are having so much issues with the 14. I agree with you 100 % on the instructions. I cant stand getting something that in the end have to end up reading for hours/days from other post trying to figure something out on some radio equipment that I am using.

Okay so here are a few pictures of what little I have done since last pictures. I installed the turbine battery in the bottom behind the fuel tank or just on the other side of the bottom bulkhead. I have the turbine in place and centered. I also placed the Jeti Pilot tube in the font nose. It was not bad to put in. I used a small aluminum tubing that I cut to size. I tapped both the tubing and the inside of the drilled hole. I then put Hysol on the threads and screwed it in. The Pilot tube slides freely inside the tubing. If need to be replaced I can take the front will off and replace. If the aluminum needs replacing then I can unscrew it and place another in. I am waiting on xicoy cg meter so I can balance it correctly. I made a battery holder for the front but will not fix it perm. to the airframe until I get the cg meter. Keith (FenderBean), after looking at the battery packs I think I am going to go with either the duralite 2s2p lithium ion's or the 2s3p ions. with self balancing.

Looking good, I would probably move the turbine battery. In turbines if you have a failed start you have to tip the jet nose down to drain the fuel out of the front of the turbine. plus it will probably need to go forward for cg
