I don’t recommend the K&N air filter for RC. They are great for 1 to 1 vehicles but not RC. Have one in my Harley. I will list a link when I have time on a good air filter.
As far as the CB I know it is steel but my CB wore so bad it messed up the Spur and is why I went to the Savage set up like the MT2.18ss has. The RTR stock CB I only get about 2 gallons out of them (which eats up my spur) which hear lately is only about a month and half run time.
The SS, Savage set up is SO much better
As far as shock springs I like blue in the front and right now have the black in the rear but hope to change to blue shortly. Springs have a lot to do with where you run.
Jackedman if I understand what you are saying when you push on the two differentials cups where the drive shafts come out going to the wheels the binding goes away. The only thing I can recommend is to take it back apart and check it. You do not by chance have dif springs in it?
The best way to check drive train other then taking it apart is to make it where you cannot turn 3 wheels (have some one help you or I put the nose down in my lap where the front wheels cannot turn and hold one back wheel and turn the other) and try to turn the reaming one. If you can turn the reaming wheel you have a problem.

I have seen 2100 MAH batterys - recharable AA's in a pack of 4 with charger, someone told me that these are not suitable and give less power [&:] but compared to the hump pack which is only 1200mah, i dont understand? Would it not be wise to get the single batterys instead? they have a lot of power and come in the 4 set. Also i will purcahse 8 single 1300mah's for my controller. What do you guys think? i would really like to know quick please..

The MHA only has to do with how long the battery holds a charge not voltage that is what you want! With AA rechargeable batteries you only get up to about 4.8 volts if that. With a 5-cell hump back you have 6 volts. Go look at the specifications on a servo and you will see they have voltages one for 4.8 volts and one for 6 volts and you will see the specifications for 6 volts has more torque and faster speed. All so with a well charged hump back you normally wine up with more like 6.5 to 7 volts

Dam it lol, i think i will still invest in the 8 recharables for my remote but the hump pack seems like a good idea, only problem is that it requires a charger.. i do not know where to find it, sounds silly but seriously i cant find the right connection for it. Any help?

Yes I run rechargeable AA batteries in my TX and a hump back in my truck. Make sure you get the 6-volt receiver pack and not the smaller one. As far as a charger since where you live I think your house voltage is 220 where ours is 110 do not know what to say about a charger. Here in the states we can get a hump pack and a charger for about $20 US for a cheap set up.

If I where you I would go run on it and see how you do. No the stock T.15 is nothing real fast but fast is not always good. I ran a race this past Friday (my very first ever at 52) as stated in my above post on Saturday and I was the slowest truck there! I ran against electric and even a Jato. In the first heat I placed first why because of my driving and how well my truck handled. Finished in the main 3rd do to radio problems after the 2nd qualifying. I am putting my new Spektrum radio in as we speak. No matter what you will have fun and that is what it is all about. GO FOR IT and have fun.

Masher 2000 are way to big and will really cut down on speed. Too much rotating weight! Could all so put too much stress on your drive train and engine as well. Not good for the dirt around here not sure about where you are but I would not get them.
Cannot find the other ones do you have a link?
For snow I am guessing paddle tires would be good but hard to say, as we only get snow about once every 10 years here then normally not much.
This is what I run and works well on our track. There are other companies that make very similar styles.

Is the surface you are going to run on hard, medium or soft?

Good luck as I rather have anything other then a Traxxas! Yes they are fast, break a lot, the radios are poor and the motors are very poor. Hard to tune, over heat and do not last long. Hope he got the 3.3 and maybe just maybe it will be better then the 2.5? The only way I would own a Traxxas is if they made the Revo in a kit with out a radio and engine then not sure I would get one then. But each to there own.

Well from what I see on the other thread with your over seas buddy this is not all true for him anyways. But what ever floats your boat and at my track the Revo’s are the ones changing parts while the savages are still going so I guess the Savage drivers at your track need to learn to drive and the Revo boys here need to do the same.
I am glade to see your replaced the engine as if you would not have you would have been soon! Just like you said in one of your post what people say about the Traxxas engines.

hey 46u im almost done my rebulid to the 18ss and its going great i found the problem and it wasn't the diff's at all the reason the rear wasn't getting any power was you know the screw shaft 86094 to hold the drive cups on the spur shaft where the brake sits on it came loose and thats the reason what a pain in the but so i have to go get some shafts tomorrow and some new shock oil im going to try 25 this time. Oh and one more thing are you over 20 like nitronut and myself because i know we have some young one in this form

Well I have had mine for quite a will now and I have bashed with it and done several informal races adn I have broken zero...I have replaced nothing. I have change some things of my own choice because whether its HPI or Traxxas (im never inerested in brand bashing and or loyalty, each has their strenghts and weaknesses.
Just recently I did my spur but that was my fault. he 3.3 engine is a good strong engine that takes a while to get to settle, but I found that I liked and wanted something with just a little more punch. In saying that, 46u, please be carefull with your heavy handed opinions and your arrogance. not everyone shares your oppinions. What ever floats your boat...what ever toots your whistle...what ever other idiom you choose to use, it all comes even handed in the end.
good to see some new faces on the thread, keep it guys...nice one. Nice pics too in the galleries.

Hello all,
I have not posted on this thread in a long time “MY GOD IT'S GROWN”. I really learned a lot about the MT2 and MT1 just by reading this thread when I first got my MT1, I really enjoy reading this thread and thank you all for the great input. I just recently started reading it again and would like to throw in my 2cents (if nobody minds).
I bought the rear exhaust TSAIS NITRO DEVIL pipe a while back and I am very pleased with it. It sounds good and gave me more bottom end then my last setup (exhaust on the black on road MT1 in picture below with a ported header and CVEC Pipe). I know everyone has the same concerns about this pipe being venerable in the back with no protection, but I can tell you this I beat the crap out of all my cars and trucks and I have yet to damage this pipe. I have been through 2 bodies with this pipe on and there is no major damage yet. I have cart wheeled, nose over butt rolled, wheeled, back flipped, front flipped, jumped, ect, ect and have not damaged the pipe yet even after breaking a rear hub carrier and front arm. The only problem I had with the pipe is the header (exhaust manifold) is very soft aluminum and has bent up and down a couple of times and it is only a matter of time before it kinks or worse snaps. I think the pipe is well worth the $50-$60 paid for it and will buy another one if this one breaks.
Someone had mentioned Traxxas in this thread, I know this is not a Traxxas thread but I would like to comment on Traxxas. I think they are very tuff, but the radios they include do not mach their trucks quality and are cheap and have a cheap feel but work well. I think Traxxas builds trucks more for people who are bashing then people who will be racing. I think with the Revo they really created one great truck. I will be getting a Revo and Jato in the future to add to my collection (20 total at the moment all are in various stages of dismantle) The MT2 in the picture below in the middle will be sold to make room for the Revo and Jato along with a few other Kyosho buggies and RC10s in my collection.
Below are some pictures of some of my RC cars and trucks. I really don’t get any time to run them or build them because I have two young kids (2 years old and 3 months old) and a house that takes all my time. My 2 year old is already interested in my RC collection and loves to help me put them together, it’s great to start him off so young (my poor wife).
Anyway I just want to contribute to the thread and though a review on the TSAIS NITRO DEVIL pipe would help some people make up their minds about it.

Thanks for the input on the rear pipe and hope to here more from others about it. I will not go into the Traxxas as when I give my opinion people feelings get hurt and do not think I have the right to have an opinion. I know about raising children as I raised 3 as a single parent. My youngest is in her second year of collage. My I be so bold to make a suggestion? Enjoy your children and spend as much time as you can with them as they grow up so fast! I spent so much of my time trying to work to keep a roof over there head and food in there bellies that I did not have as much time to spend with them as I would have liked to when they where young!
Good to hear from you again now go hug the kids.
