In my opinion it would look like crap, as my MT is a truck not a car. But different strokes for different folks I guess. In sanction racing if you have a stadium truck or a monster truck you have to run a truck body.

I do not see why any 1/10 scale truck body would not work. You have to mark and put the holes for the body post in the correct spot. I sure think the truck bodies would fit a lot better then a car body but have seen many a car body on a MT as well. I have seen some run Savage and Revo bodies on the MT. It all in making it work.

Somewhere in this thread there are several pictures but I know 300 plus pages. There is all so a guy with the Savage Dodge charger body on his MT and it looked pretty good. I all so think the Savage El Camino body would look good.

Glade you got it running!!!!!!!! When you say the steering is tight not sure what you mean. There are several things that can go bad with a servo, you can strip the gears, mess the motor up or the circuit board goes bad. If the gears strip you normally well make a lot of nose and will turn to a point and stop. If the motor goes bad it will not do anything. If the circuit board goes bad it will act very irregular.

Cool...got my CV-RX running today. Did the break-in, went pretty well...intially the motor flooded quite a bit on the 1st tank, but once it was going the break-in went pretty smooth.
Did some performance tuning and man, does the CV-RX move! Even running a bit rich with smoke pouring out, that thing has some serious grunt!
Just one question though, perhaps you might be able to answer this 46u...I installed the HPI Nitro Racing clutch and it is running on the 2nd setting. Everything seems fine, however when I start the car on a box with the wheels of fthe ground, the clutch is engaging even at low RPMs and the wheels are spinning. Is this OK or is something a bit wrong there? I did notice that when I was trying to connect the two ends of the spring together that holds the shoes on, i did slightly extend the spring a little and it stretched a little. This wouldn't have caused any probs would it?
Thanks

hey guys i got a question the other day i went out with my car and races my bro inblaw in a drag across a field we are both running the os 18cv-rx by the way . but at top end the car didnt go any faster and the engine reved up more i was going quite fast at this point so just wondering what that could of been ? nothing is broken on the car i got the hpi racing clutch and it wasnt the spur gear shreading. the car didnt run differently afterwards so could it just not be tuned quite right then ? or what ?
thanks
thanks

By stretching the clutch spring the clutch will defiantly engage sooner. If the spring is really stretched out the clutch will always be engaged slightly. If I where you I would use the last hole (there should be 3 holes all together use the one closest to the center of the clutch shoe) on the clutch shoes which will engage the clutch at the highest RPM. I am running the HPI Racing Clutch and I always used the hole closest to the center of the shoe for better bottom end power.
rccrazynut
If you engine sounded like it was reving out and the truck is not going any faster I would check the spur gear slipper clutch nut. It should be a 10mm nylon nut that comes loose all the time. I had this happen to me when I first got my MT2 18SS and was running it for the first time in the park. I wound up melting the center of the spur gear where the brass bushing goes. What I have done to fix this from happening again is put blue thread lock on that nut after I adjusted it to the best setting for me.
Getting back to what I said about HPI quality (cheap plastic) a few post back, these problems are exactly what I am talking about that HPI does not address. HPI nylon nut are garbage. Do yourself a favor and go to the local ACE Hardware or Home Depot store and get new nylon nuts for the spur gear and the wheels. I'm sure everyone out there had one of there wheel come loose and round out the where the wheel hub goes because the wheel nut came loose. I wish HPI would address these types of issues.

I guess some might have had problems with HPI plastic but I sure have not on any of my 4 HPI vehicles. I do no a couple of times HPI had problems with air bubbles in there plastic parts and they where weak but I never got any. Yes I agree the first time you take the wheel nuts they do not hold well again so I just put a drop of blue loctite and have never had one come off.
rcnz when you put your truck on the ground does it move at idle or will it sit still on level ground with out applying the brakes? If it only turns with the wheels off the ground but does not creep when on the ground it is OK.
rccrazynut yes check your slipper adjustment.

hey guys!
I just traded my sprint for a mt-2 roller, it's complete minus and engine and radio... what engine would you guys suggest for good speed and that would fit without modification? I hate the nitro stars (ever since my RS43)... but any help would be greatly appreciated... thanks!

yeah u can get them on tower, i dont live in us and never ordered from them but i have seen them on there. and the stock engine mounts will work. the only thing good engine mounts do is look a little better but lets face it u cant really see them very well and most good mounts also help displce heat.

I'm still pretty happy with it though and if its alright like that, I think its running pretty good.
