You might want to change to the heavy duty setup if it happens again, this allows you to use any of the Savage heavy duty clutch bells (a 15T is pictured but I use the 13T).

It is also a lot smoother when using the proper bearings rather than the dodgy needle one.

Yeah, I dont like the primer. It causes my tank to leak. Everytime after i play on sand or dirt, they would get stuck on my tank. And when you push the primer, the sand will get caught somewhere among the spring of the primer... I hate that.
Now i have change to the 100cc tank (of course without primer), Its better.

Shoot, is this the only advantage of a tank without a primer? or are there other pros to getting one, aside from capacityh? thanks!
Another question for all, has anyone tried "street tires" on their MT2? will it help traction on the street? thanks! I pretty much run my truck anywhere i feel that's why im asking. my stock tires don't seem to grip that well in front anymore when runnning on pavement. Thanks again guys

I want to know if that tank from Ofna is a drop in or some modification is required.

I had to replace the final gears in my back diff. and they were the cut metal ones, this time the mesh is really tight at the same time i had replaced the casing just in case it was out of tolerance.

yea that tank will be pretty much a direct fit. i had to make a longer pipe braket. cuz the tank would get in the way of the pipe. if u put that tank on the stock holes were the stock tank went it will rub against the front dog bone. so put screw it in on the outside hole. ull see what i mean about the pipe hittin the tank. just a longer pipe braket will be fine.
just today my rear dif stripped its not even stripped i took it apart and all it was was there wasent enough shims in there so the gears werent meshing right. the pinion was hardly even touchin the bevel gear. so i need to add shims and itll be fine.

I just ordered a bunch off tower, and a new sleeve set for my engine. $37 is really cheap.
The sleeve was filled with speckles, so it was dirt that got in it.

NitroMulisha;
You may want to check in one of the engine forums.
All of us have the same truck as you, but I don't think anyone has the same engine as you.

Hey guys.
Wow! I just put in a Traxxas Performance Pipe I had laying around for my O.S. .18 CV-RX (when it gets back from warranty repairs [:@]) and I thought to myself, "Well, since it's just sitting here, why don't I put it in my MT2?" So, I went about my business taking off the old one and fitting the new one. The Traxxas pipe (here's a link to it in case you would like to know: click [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXSP47&P=RF]here[/link]) which is originally for a T-Maxx, made a HUGE performance increase! It was rather insane... My top speed increased dramatically!
Anyways, are you supposed to have to retune the engine after installing a new pipe? I did, and now it runs much richer. It still stays cool though, and is MUCH louder! [8D]
If you would like, I'll make a video of it and show you what it can do. Though I can't open it up on my street; it isn't long enough between intersections and the tires balloon too much for my liking.

Okay, I'll try to get a video up later today if I can. I have to go run some errands now, but I'll be back later today. Hopefully, I'll get someone to man the camera while I'm driving to give you a better sense of speed! [8D]

Well, it doesn't look like I'll have the video tonight. All of my friends around my neighborhood are at camps, and the one that is home doesn't know how to work a video camera. Just for the heck of it, tomorrow I'll get a few clips just so you all can see. I found out that it was running a little lean earlier today, and had to richen it up to keep it in safe operating temperatures. I didn't see much of a power loss though, it still ran really well.
One question though. I have this glow heater ([link=http://click here]http://www.hobbyworks.com/images/media/DYN1940-250.jpg[/link]) and it has this little meter at the top that shows the status of the glow plug and battery. You can't see it in the picture really, but the meter goes from 0 to 2, with a red background. Then it goes from 2 to 4 to 6, all in a green background. I really don't know exactly what this means, so could someone help me out? Usually, with a fresh battery, it reads 2... I don't know if that's good or bad. I'm also having a bit of trouble starting the engine while it is mildly warm... It doesn't seem to want to get fuel into it. I've primed it and everything, but it still doesn't want to go. Is this the glow plug, do you think? Or is it that my primer is broken. I could try holding my finger over the exhaust, I haven't yet. And I know already not to leave the glow heater on while doing that [8D].
Thanks!

every once in a while I will have probs restarting mine. I just hold my finger over the exhaust until it starts. Sometimes I have to do it like 3-4 times before it will stay running.
It's called vapor lock. What happens is that the carb gets hot and the fuel just boils away before it can pass through the needle assembly.
I don't think it's form running the engine hot, as methanol has a boiling point of around 150f.
As far as the glow starter, it should read well into the green when the battery is fully charged.
Anty
Also, I added some length to my pressure line. Seemed to help a little.
It is now about 6-7 inches long.

Ah... Thanks! Hmm... I wonder why my meter doesn't seem to be reading into that green area. I'll try a fresh glow plug in it tomorrow and see what it reads. This glow heater is an alkaline one, by the way, you don't charge it. It was the cheapest one they had, so I went for it. Only 10 bucks! I have mounds of "C" batteries for some reason, so I'm okay in that department. I'll have an update tomorrow on that video.
Now I'm going to go watch Ocean's Twelve for a second time; this time actually paying attention since last time one of my friends kept asking me questions in the theater! She was so unattentive... [:@] Yeah, now I have to watch it on a meager 25 inch television instead of a... BIG movie screen. Ah well...

i know what u guys are sayin about the hard starting when the engine is warm. i have the same prob. it takes me so long to get it started again sometimes. so i do what anty does plug the exhaust and pull almost till it floods. and it works good.
and is anyone runnin an Associated NTC3 pipe? if so how does it work for u? and does it increase acceleration at all?

in line with the not starting questions....what do you guys do when your mt2 flips ? I just hate it when the engine dies on me and i have to go through the not starting when it's warm scenario![:@]
Oh ya, forgot to ask, has anyone installed street tires on theor Mt2s? are they worth it for the street?

Weird... My MT2 was once running upside down for around 25 seconds while I went to go get it. I had a pulled muscle in my leg and couldn't run worth anything, so I just walked over there. I was rather surprised that it didn't die, but it didn't.
I have a pair of Road Rage tires from Proline, but I don't want to take off the old tires since they seem to do pretty well. I run mine mostly on pavement and have been rather pleased with the traction I'm getting; the tires don't show much wear after 10 or so tanks on the pavement at all.
But really, for the price of that pipe... You really can't go wrong. All that I had to do was saw off part of the mounting bar with a Dremel and then stick it in a vice and bend it with a hammer. Wasn't hard at all and took about 5 minutes. It fits really well onto the stock header and little rubbery thing that connects them (I don't know the technical term for it
). I just tightened down a small zip-tie really tight and made sure that the mounting bar was secure, retune, and I was off! The thing flies! I'll get a picture of it in just a second.
Here are those pictures:
Sorry that they're so dark. I had to use my camcorder for this instead of my digital camera. I'll try to get some brighter shots tomorrow outside when it is sunny. Hopefully, I'll be able to find my digital camera...

I took a knife and file to it, and shaved the edge down. This helped a lot.
I was thinking about going to the other hole, but I was too lazy to build a new mount for the exhaust.

Alright, this is an extremely long thread to read it all but there was some talk of a 2-speed for the MT2, can anyone give me some pointers for a swap (is it even do-able?)

Don't know how to do it though, a couple of people have though.
