By the spring thaw, there should be a VERY real and inexpensive way into "real" pattern. The last key just clicked into place finally.....
I'm excited about the idea. This one has been eating me alive! And now I think I am about ready to break it loose.....
But now that I said that, watch there will be a major fire in Equador and kill all of the balsa trees or something like that...LOL

This is a picture of the ZN Line Fashion that I just bought from Mike McConville. It is in great shape and Mike is an incredibly nice and friendly guy to work with. It will be the back up to the BM V.3 that I am building over the winter with Mark Atwood. I plan to be completely re-tooled and ready to compete in advanced this year.

Great news, though. I look forward to your announcement, it may tempt me to try an actual pattern contest one day.

Here are some pics of my slingshot (the original of the David McFarlane series) that i've just finished, about to test fly. Have got the YS110S in it with a 14-12 APC so i'll see how it goes with that. The kit was in the roof for 13 years when I left the hobby, I got it down a year ago and have just finished it

Maidened my X-treme ProLine this afternoon, only had time for two flights. First impression, not bad at all. The plane felt a bit tail heavy, cg very similar to my Akiba built ProLine. Unfortunately, it's over weight - 5.05 kg, have to find a way to lighten it. Mine is the first 5 prototype imported by BVM, and I think it is the heaviest.
I started off with about 1/2 degree pos wing incidence, but had been gradually reducing it. Up/ down line very solid, slight pull to the belly on left rudder, and very slight pull to the canopy on right rudder. Hopefully, I will have a chance to fly again in the next few days.
YS 170DZ
APC 17x12 W, will switch to 17.25x10/ 11 after engine has more flight time
Futaba 14MZ with 5114 rx
Futaba digital servos
K&S 600cc tank
4.8v 1,500 mAh ni-cd

Here's my latest ship.
It's taken a while to iron the bugs out of it, (also learning to use the MVVS has been a learning curve) but now she's getting better every flight.
