They hyper shocks are 14mm and the Kyosho big bores are 16mm so they are bigger. I have both and you can see the difference.

I am officially a Hyper man. I just ordered the Hyper 8.5 buggy with the new 2008 STS S21T engine. The engine is being sold at nitrocountryrc.com for $189. Most of the parts are interchangeable between buggy/truggy.

same here, actually the hyper 7 is closer to the hyper st, same bulkheads and shock towers. i have a set of carbon fiber hyper 7 shock towers ordered (if they ever get here) that are 5mm thick and should fit perfect. but you can use the 8.5 c-hubs and get the camber options on the st, with the 18 degree the truck actually turns more and the push seems to be gone. good luck.

PatrickBW, I have the Sportwerks .21 in my Mugen truggy and I'm loving it. I put the Jammin JP1 pipe on it for alittle extra low end because I'm running in an indoor track. This engine really has some high end revs; I think the JP1 is a good balance for the SW21 and it may stay on for the bigger outdoor track this spring. I've had a few people ask, "what engine is that?!", and you know that's a good thing.

There is no way you have 16mm shocks on your hyper unless you bought them from somewhere. The Kyosho ST-RR was the first to come out with them and the New jammin truggy is the only other to have them. They hyper shocks are the same exact size as my Mantis shocks which are 14mm.
My ST-RR shock spacers are too big to put on my Hyper too which says the shock bodies are bigger.

alright, got the 1313 in to steer and 5645 for throttle/brake, see how she does tomorrow. state race here in a couple weeks to see how i stack up with the big boys, maybe now i eliminated all my electronics problems i hope.

does anybody use the throttle servo spacer that raises it up about 5mm? that may be causing some of the braking problems, i got mine off for now to see how it goes.

hi guys , I am having some major issues with my hyper st ,

the first problem is that when i am turning into corners there isnt to much turning the front end just slides , Is this something to do with my shocks / springs ? Its not my tyres and im not going 40 mph into corners exspecting it to grip. I am using a futuba 3050 servo .

The second is that the arms actually keep undoing , I have used loktite and they still kept undoing so know i have put longer bolts in them and they seem to have held around the track .... has any one else hade theis problem ?

And the final problem is to do with my engine ..... Its a go 21 5port and in the race i was running it rich as it was only on its 8th tank .... But all of a sudden it leaned it self of and by the time i got to the pitlanes it was reading 378 degrees and the colour of the head and pipe had changed ..... Why did it all of a sudden lean it self off ? any ideas?

yup, very happy with servos, 1313 is plenty for a truggy, very fast too. it took me a couple gallons to get used to the speed of the servo and not catch an inside pipe every turn. the stock tires are not good on loose dirt, ok on a damp thicker track. the stock pipe is very good on the sts so far also.

the first problem is that when i am turning into corners there isnt to much turning the front end just slides , Is this something to do with my shocks / springs ? Its not my tyres and im not going 40 mph into corners exspecting it to grip. I am using a futuba 3050 servo .
too much front brake, adjust the setscrew so they slow down but don't lock in the turns.

The second is that the arms actually keep undoing
need to clarify what arms and where they are undoing.

And the final problem is to do with my engine ..... Its a go 21 5port and in the race i was running it rich as it was only on its 8th tank .... But all of a sudden it leaned it self of and by the time i got to the pitlanes it was reading 378 degrees and the colour of the head and pipe had changed ..... sounds like an air leak, check with short piece of fuel line attatched to carb. plug carb opening and exhaust (with pipe off) and listen for air when you blow in hose. spray soapy water or simple green where you hear it and watch for bubbles. no bubbles then problem with fuel lines or tank. good luck.

Nah I didnt get the Mac Star, this came without the engine for some reason.

Its got a SH .28 3 Port engine in it for the time being.

JP 4 Exhaust , JR HI -Torq Servos, JR Radio

The rims + tyre combo looks really great on this truck.!!!

Anyone know how I could stiffen up the Springs, the chassis droops quite a bit.

Going to the air-field to break it in now (They have a huge runway.!)

Thanks

Update :

Well I broke the engine in about 80% of the way.

OMG This Thing Can Turn.
It Makes The Losi 8ight T Look Like An 18 Wheeler Doing A 'J' Turn.!!

This thing Is bigger than I thought it would be.!

The engine's pretty good.! When I got it, I thought that it would be crap.!
I HATE PULL STARTS, My entire hand is covered with blisters.

I Have A Few Questions :

1) Whats up with the exposed battery pack.?
2) Whats up with the air filter, its like a rugby ball.?
3) Why do the IDIOTS who make engines stick SHARP EDGES on the cooling head.!?
3) Is there any way to change the colour of the rims ( I know I can Die them, How )
4) Should I use the JP 4 exhaust, or the exhaust that came with the Truck, all it says is Hyper.
5) Is there any way to raise the ride height of this.? The springs I guess are toooooo soft.
6) Are Big Bores recommended.?
7) Is there an ST Pro Clear Body avaliable.?
8) How often should I clean the Air Filter.?
9) Should I change the stock diff oil.? If yes, to what
10) Should I change the stock shock oil.? If yes, to what

Thanks Guys.!

Problem 1: Try rebalancing the fluids in your differentials. Something like 10K center, 3K front, 5k rear.

Problem 2: Sounds like an air leak to me since it WAS running fine. Check for airleaks in your fuel tubing, tank, carb area, and backplate.

Good luck!

OK Just did 7 and 1/2 tanks of break in on the new OS 21 V-Spec. Can I say wow. The Hyper ST pro is great. Can't wait till I get till about the 12 tank to really wind her up out on a track. Did have a problem on the 5th tank as my Ballistic battery was almost dead (My fault should of charger her up) and the throttle glitched and the Hyper went into a brick wall and then tried to climb up it then shutoff. And yes I put a new Throttle servo in and reversed the action so I forgot to resynce the failsafe (Spektrum 3500) as it went the other way as my old servo was programmed to brake (since reversed it went to full throttle). I cracked the Hyper 8 reciever box and also one of the gas tank mounts. Man those things are flimsy. So my brother-in-law fabricated some nylon (Derin) Blocks to beef up and reduce flex on the carbon fiber tray on the throttle/brake servo. Then We used the same material on the gas tank mounts so it won't crack. Then we glued (JB Weld) the hyper 8 box together and let it cure overnight. Overall the new fabrications make the Hyper 8 St Pro even more heavy duty. I'll post pics of exactly the fabrication parts that my brother-in-law made. Its a very good mod for anybody using the Hyper 8 reciever box as this will allow you to use both screw holes and not just the one, which I found out the hard way does not support much of anything. Big Kudos to my Brother-in-law in fabricating the parts. Thanks Jerzferno.

Spikeit - My pleasure. Thats what family/team mates are for. Glad we got it together and you got a few more tanks of break in done today. Soon we'll be on the track, then the fun begins. Just a few more boring tanks of break in left for you and then you can start rippin up the track. You wont regret getting that V-SPEC!! How about mine firing up within 2 seconds of cranking on the starter box. The last time I had it running was September 8th. Not bad huh?
