JC's are similar to Proline's. I wonder if we are getting the same amount of steering throw? When at full lock, the arm on the steering knuckle is touching the C-hub. My rims were rubbing the inside end of the arm at the nipple for the hinge pin! Both are LPR half offset and you can see the black rub-line around the hex. Even the stock wheels rubbed. The only way I found to avoid this was either to have less steering or to extend the hubs! You might not be getting the max out of your steering or you have rubbed the corner end of the arm down without realizing! I shall slap on a pair PLHO's with the HoBao standard wheel hex's tomorrow to be certain.

This has more steering than my 8ight buggy!!!

You need to get 17mm rims. You getting the MT or LRP from Proline? I would recommend you get the LRP for your hyper with 1/2 offset.

I have +2mm extenders on. When you set the endpoints, make sure the suspension is compressed a little so that the steering knuckle arms don't bind on the suspension arms! It's also a good idea to dremel out some of the plastic where the knuckle arm touches at full throw! I think someone else mentioned that on this thread! You can remove a decent amount without affecting strength! If you haven't already done this, you can see where the suspension arm is getting chewed.

I use the +2's to keep the rims from rubbing on the end of the arm where the hinge pin bubble is. In the pictures you can see the black rub marks on the rim!

I can turn inside 8 T's, Mugen's, and Jammin's all day! Chris who runs my LHS, was laughing during last weeks main because I was getting everyone one the inside! I was doing it clean too! I've just started racing and this truggy has me very excited for this season. I love the building part of the hobby, and I'm always fiddling with how to make something work better. There isn't much you need to do to the HoBao to improve it! Just a few minor things.

Damn that thing goes.! Seems like your brakes are a loose, if your using the stock ones, dont bother, get a set of the Racers Edge Fiber High Temp ones off A Main, probably over 30 gallons on mine, still look like new.

so if i get the +2mm extenders do i still have to grind the arms, maybe get the +4mm extenders or is it too wide.im surpriced nobody mention this problem before, everybody says this truck has the best steering but you cant have full throw out of the box,you have to buy extenders.thanks

When your suspension is at full droop, like when you have it up on a stand, that's when the knuckles will rub on the arms! Removing material from the arm where it comes into contact with the knuckle is just a little extra reassurance that it won't happen while your racing! There are some turns, such as a table top hairpin, that might require you to go full steer while airborne so you immediately turn when you land! It really helps when nothing is binding when you suspension is at full travel.

The extenders are so the rims don't rub the end of the arms!

I think someone else might have mention dremeling the arms earlier in this thread somewhere! I only just joined, and have briefly looked through the posts!

hey I bought some Jconepts half up rims for my hyper and I want to fit badlands to them, has anyone tried this before?? I have test fitted them and they seem to work best when you put the tyre bead on the INSIDE of the inner ridge of the rim. Also the stock proline molded foams dont seem to stretch too much, so I will probably use some Savage foams i have lying around.

I have read somewhere about people cutting the inner bead off the tyre to make it fit.
Well I answered my own question, good on me! did as above, looks like this-

You'll find the roll-bars here.

http://www.nitrohouse.com/options_hyper_st.htm

You can find pretty much everything for the Hyper ST on that website. As for paddle tyres, I have no clue.
