Spikeit. You were the fastest truggy on the track Sunday. FACT. If you didnt flame out you would have TQ'd. Even with the flame out, you were only one lap off of TQ. Had it not been for the quick thinking and pit work by your pit man, you would have been toast. Oh, that would be me. LOL I gotta tell you Hyper ST owners something. This is coming from a Kyosho/Associated/Traxxas owner/racer. This truggy is for real. Yes there were several guys that came over to our pit area to look at it. It did turn heads. Most of the guys run .28's and this OS V-SPEC .21 had just as much, if not more power. Spikeit was able to power by a few guys with ease. Jumped to perfection. Cornered good (Well get that tuned up even better) and was just as good as any of the other truggys out there. I believe there were LOSI's, a Kyosho STR-R, I think I saw a Jammin, and there may have been one or two others. Hard to tell with the bodies on and them not stooping so I could look. LOL Not bad for a first time truggy racer eh? Spikeit you did the team proud yesterday!!!!!!!

the S5 is a great motor, been running pure for me with the stock hobao pipe, dynamite header. it runs pretty good with the jp-4 too.

I run a Go Tech .28 in my HST Pro! I race at RC Madness in Enfield, CT. I'm running the stock Hyper pipe with the Go and it was as fast, and faster, than the Ninja's, O.S.'s and Rossi's! I was even pulling on the buggy's in the straight during practice. I got a lot of congrats for being the only truggy that day to clear a difficult triple, with a 4' run in, after a hard-left table top!
The .28 is my second Go engine, I have the .21 7p in my 8ight. Great engines for the price! ($180-$190 shipped on Ebay)
I got my HST Pro at the end of last season. I have only raced it twice and I love it! It's wicked plush and with a little mod, it turns like an on-road car! So far, I'm the only one at the track with the Pro and when I'm driving good, it can turn inside any other truck on the track
I couldn't be more happy with my first truggy! It's gotten me to 2 A-mains and a 1st place B in the two times I've had it out!
I have made a few changes from the stock kit. I'll try to post some pics tomorrow!

Did you bind the spektrum failsafe with the brake on? Did you test it by turning the transmitter on, then reciever, then turning off the transmitter to ensure that the brakes go on when the signal is done or does it just stay neutral?

Did you change throttle/braking servo's lately and maybe had the servo direction reversed so when you orginally bounded it instead of braking it went wide open? Just thinking of scenarios cause some idiot (namely me) had that happen.

hey I bought some Jconepts half up rims for my hyper and I want to fit badlands to them, has anyone tried this before?? I have test fitted them and they seem to work best when you put the tyre bead on the INSIDE of the inner ridge of the rim. Also the stock proline molded foams dont seem to stretch too much, so I will probably use some Savage foams i have lying around.
I have read somewhere about people cutting the inner bead off the tyre to make it fit.

How do you do the Hyper 8 Box mod? Please post the link if there's any. Is there a rotostarter that will fit the stock Hyper ST RTR engine? I hate pull starts.
Thanks
Thanks

Its in this thread. I think like 10 pages back. Go throught each page starting at 20 and you should find it. I don't know of anybody using a roto start, but don't know why you couldn't.

I used to have a roto start on my macstar 28- I think it was called the tiger drive, I got it at my local LHS, this was before I changed that engine out for the Jammin .28.

I just started racing. Last weekend was my 4th race! I TQ'd the 1st round and then had two DNF's due to engine issues(that's what I get for trying to fine tune between races
)! I got it to stay running for the Main and took 1st! Every other truggy was a Losi except for my fellow club member's Mugen!
This truggy makes everybody think I actually know how to drive!
It's has definetly gotten a lot of attention at the track!

if its not cluch, radio, battery or diff issues (my fault) i would finish a main once in a while.
I started with using a ProTek 2000mah lipo because I didn't want an external battery! It works great, plus I was able to fit everything in the receiver box! (No mods needed!!!) I get great run time even with those overkill servos!
The only issue I've had with the clutch so far is one blown bearing!
I've solved the diff leakage problem I was having by changing the way I fill the diffs and by using a little Racers Edge O-ring Sealant! I just figured out how to get the maximum amount of diff oil in the case without trapping any air and without getting any oil on the rim of the case where the crown gear sits! I even filled the recesses under the large bevel gears with oil! I fill the cup up almost to the top of the satelite gears and then I put the other large bevel gear in. Then, I top it off with oil an fill the recesses on the bevel gear! Before I put the crown on, I remove enough oil for the output shaft to go in without causing displacement, then I line up the pin with the bevel gear and the screw holes with the case and tighten away!
Oh, I also use a very small amount of o-ring sealant on the crown gear o-ring. The main thing, is to make sure the rim is free of oil! If there is oil between the crown gear and case you may think you have tightened it all the way when you really haven't! Over time the oil squezes out and leaves a gap! I noticed this when I let it sit for a while, I went back an hour later and was able to tighten it some more. Keep it clean!!!
I know you weren't asking for advice but, since filling my diffs this way, I have gone through 2 race weekends without even a hint of leakage! Just figured I would share!

hi guys,i noticed that at full turn the wheels are rubbing on the arms.should i use the extra set of hubs,i believe it will offset the wheels a few mm.the extra hubs have the pin hole closer to the edge,i tried it on but i have to shim it to get rid of the play.so which hubs you guys are using.thanks

I use +2mm hubs with JConcepts Rulux Half-Ups half offset rims. Seems to do the trick! The JC's have a nice bevel around the wheel hex but you still need to space it out with at least a +2mm set! You could also use +8's with a standard offset wheel and get the same effect! If you run standard offet, and are intersested, I have a set of +8's I could sell for $25! I used them for about 3 minutes with my half offsets. It was too wide for me!
