the hyper st PRO thread!

the S5 makes 50-55 oz/in.... i am shocked it can push a Hyper ST.......... I feel my OS28 isn't fast enough in the Hyper..so running a mild .21 blows my mind

Well ive finally got it finished......my hyper ST.............
Its pretty standard throughout - Already changed the discs for Craddocks and linkage for the Dynamite Pro. WIll eventually do the battery box mod, when Ive got enough confidence to drill the chassis.
Went for a fairly standard 7F / 10C / 3R on the diff oils, and 30K all round the shocks.
Unfortunately I cant claim that I did the shell, that was by Airhead Graphics (for anyone in the UK).
Let me know what you think - Particularly if you can see that Ive done something wrong!
cheers

I am crying in thinking about cleaning it. Every think of getting another body and keeping that one as the show body. That thing is real nice.

Hey Spikeit. That looks ready for the next race. Leave it that way. LOL I left my buggy the way it was after race day. Oh wait, the rain came before 1/8th scale buggies could run. Sorry, had to rib ya. I wouldnt be looking forward to cleaning mine either. My RC 10GT was bad enough to clean. Good thing its a tiny 1/10th scale and not 1/8th. We go home next time its that bad.

hey fella, i had the same thing happen to my old hyper 7. all i did was attatch a spare exhaust spring to the throttle servo horn and the other end to the inlet tube of the carby. works fantastic. REMEMBERING THIS ONLY WORKS FOR THE CAR BATTERY. you should still install a failsafe for your radio. ($40 investment to protect $800 toy). just cut the spring so it has enough tension on it to pull the servo back to idle. do this buy turning on the power on both the car and the radio. then open throttle up, leave radio on and turn off you car. pull spring so the throttle comes to idle. cut the spring to suit that position. now you have a (mechanical fail safe)
hope this helps.

i say throw out all those stats and drive. i have different gearing in mine too, i took out the spider diff (52t) cause it fell apart when i was trying to fill it. i have a standard 46t hyper7/8 diff with a 12 tooth bell, then 11/43 internal ratio (the 10t hellfire bevel works too if necessary). with that tooth spur the math sais i should run an 11.5 tooth bell but that aint happenin' so 12 it is. 13 on the more open/less technial tracks. thats with a jp4, gen2 30% and dynamite max-life shoes (3 gallons) and 1.1 mugen springs. also 5/10/1 is a great technical setup.
the S5 makes 50-55 oz/in....
The Hyper is a really heavy machine.... a .21 does feel a little weak IMHO...

if it was released in 2007 (pro version) i can buy one in a month and not worry about parts support for another year or so

yeah, the pro version did come around 6 months later but you only asked about the "st" and not "st pro". i have both and 95% of the parts are identicle. the parts support for these beasts is amazing. just about every1 carrys spares for these not that you will need much cause hardly anything breaks! very tough truggy.

After a day at the track..
All's well, except blew the center diff, some how the screws got loose, and spilt the oil all over the truck. That happened on my last tank LOL, when I was packing up to go home.
Still, yesterday was a great day

My exhaust hanger broke , so made one outta a coat hanger

hey buddy, i had the same problem. i lost my 2 little bushes. i just filled the hole up with "araldite" or any epoxy resin glue will work. when the epoxy sets, just drill a hole in the middle. the surround epoxy sets like a hard rubber compound so it still has a tiny bit of play. its been 3 months and still holding up a treat!
