yes, happened to all 3 of mine. figured out we have to use longer screws for the diffs to make sure they don't back out at all. the screws that come in the kit are too short.

Thanks for the info, pulled my front and rear and they look like new. The only one that went was my center diff + housing. Already got the replacement parts, gonna build it up later at night.

While they're apart, im gonna try new oils.

Hi guys,

I bought a Hyper st pro too. If builded it with pleasure!!!

This is my setup:
- OS vz-b v-spec .21
-OS T2060SC WN
-Spektrum DX2.0
-Ace/TT ds1015 on steering
-Spektrum z590 on throttle
-J-concepts mugen illuzion body, airbrushed by Solidz (Maarten from the Netherlands)
-J-concepts Wing
-GRP cubic tires, 1/2 offset
-Mugen's dynalink brake/throttle linkage

My oils (ALL MUGEN OILS)
- #500 in the shocks all around
-frontdiff #5000
-centrediff #7000
-reardiff #2000

the S5 makes 50-55 oz/in....
i say throw out all those stats and drive. i have different gearing in mine too, i took out the spider diff (52t) cause it fell apart when i was trying to fill it. i have a standard 46t hyper7/8 diff with a 12 tooth bell, then 11/43 internal ratio (the 10t hellfire bevel works too if necessary). with that tooth spur the math sais i should run an 11.5 tooth bell but that aint happenin' so 12 it is. 13 on the more open/less technial tracks. thats with a jp4, gen2 30% and dynamite max-life shoes (3 gallons) and 1.1 mugen springs. also 5/10/1 is a great technical setup.

The Hyper is a really heavy machine.... a .21 does feel a little weak IMHO...
I run the Rb C6 thing has alot of power its the one before the Lg2

sorry bro, the S5 is plenty. i have it geared 12/46 and 11/43 internal. with this gearing it flys, really. don't under estimate the s5 just cause its a sport motor. its not just "a .21".

hi all, i have read alot about these fibre brake discs and bare metal pads. is the difference a bit better or alot better, cause these stock brakes are bloody crap! i even went to a hitec 5955 servo and even still i think its very average. cheers guys....and girls i guess!

HEAPS better. Can be a juggling act to line them up properly, but worth the effort.
Also the itty bitty springs between the pads are a good investment.

Went racing for the first time on the weekend.
All i can say is that it's a Good job these hypers are strong.

Upgrades:-

CNC steering knuckles
Fibre brake disc upgrade
5 cell stick or hump pack

Mess around with your diff/shock oils and anything else is kinda break first then upgrade imo. Hell i bought shed loads of spares for mine when i purchased it and most are still laying in their original packaging lol.

Id like to upgrade to the pro cnc'd chassis brace at some point as i have broken 2 stockers now (going large in a skate park) but other than that they seem to take a beating.

The CNC knuckles are not a must. Its pretty much an option part. I dont see the need for them so I dont run them. The stock ones hold up.

Get the racers edge super hi-temp brakes of amain, and part #88087 along so you can use them.

As for reciever pack, I built my own, 6V, 5 Cell, 2500 MaH, outta energizer re-chargables. They work perfectely for me...

And definately engine, that Mac* engine wont go too long. You can get a Picco .28/Jammin .28 under $200 off A Main which are great engines.

Other than that, radio + servos at a later time, and then keep up-grading stuff as they break, which wont happen very often.

And keep an eye on your diffs.

And your all set....

bryank, i have never seen any springs on the pads before. it didn't come with any. but i think i know what you mean. to open the pads up again from one another to release the disc instead of the disc just freeing itself? if this is the case i will just use some springs which i will cut down from some old throttle linkages or if they need to be a bit stronger cut the spring down from an exhaust spring maybe? just a thought?

The J Concepts Mugen body fits, and so does the ProLine Quik-Lids one. Jammin CRT fits fine.

And there are a few more, cant remember at the moment.

If you look a page previous you can see my Mugen body @ a hyper st. T is almos a perfect fit, little trimming needed at the wing. Not much special. It fits PERFECT!

The stock shock towers are strong. The plastic is extremely thick, so its extremely durable. ive not even managed to scratch them.

hi guys, i am looking at getting a new pipe. i am currenly running the LRP-SPEC 3 at the moment and was wondering what the differnce is btween the jp-1,2,3 and 4 pipes? i have a os 21vz-b v spec waiting to go in also but the spec 3 just wont die! still running strong as hell after 5 litres. is there a pipe which would suit both engines or will i have to get 1 pipe for each? any thoughts would be helpful.
