Here's my time plan - (Watch me get slaughtered on the track LIVE!!...)

I'm in group 13..

FRIDAY:

First practice run exactly from 16:00 - 16:10 local time(that's 10 am US east coast time.. East Coast US is six hours behind German time..)

First qualifying run : 18:48(12:48 US..)

SATURDAY:

2nd Qual: 10:18 (4:18 am)

3rd Qual: 12:38 (6:38 am)

4th Qual: 14:58 (8:38am)

5th Qual: 17:18 (11:18)

SUNDAY - not sure - depends how I do.. Prob won't even be in it.. The main races and finals are on Sunday....

Look for this truck(in case you can't notice the one being lapped repeatedly - assuming it's even on the track...):

Pretty sure I'm gonna run that lid.. If not, the ole' standard:

I think I'll just leave it.. I mean, the first screw started stripping.. Better with a 14 than none at all.. This is the same dumb thing that led to my last headache with the engine mounts... Those bolts are garbage... Maybe if I get there early enough somebody can help me...

How come the servo horn that comes with the PRO won't fit the spline on my Hi-Tec servo? It's the strange horn with the step on it so to clear the top of the servo.
Anyone else have this problem, or am I finally unique at something.?

The arms that come with the Hyper are for Futaba servos only - not Hitec.. Kind of annoying if like us you already Hitec servos..

Different servo manufacturers use different numbers of splines. Personnally find it a right Pain in the @$$ and think it should be standardised but hey maybe thats just me...

I think I've come to this conclusion about the Hyper - to be any good, it takes twice the wrenching of other trucks. Somebody told me that over the weekend, and I guess I'm just shrugging my shoulders and accepting it. I can't be bothered putting more effort into it, knowing it'll never be top-line.. I'm just so freakin' goggle-eyed over that RC8T with Picco from the weekend.. Even if I somehow miraculously end up having brakes some day, the truck will NEVER be half as agile as the RC8T.. And not as fast either, even with the OS 28.

So anyway, Hyper's for sale... Grudgingly.. But I just gotta' have that Asso.....

Nooo! now you see what Oasis was talking about. I've seen the RC8T over at the track and man it looks really good. When that thing jumps its awesome and it comes out of corners quick. It looks really light and it can be handled with a .21 engine. Good old hyper is heavy and it isn't as agile. I'm getting an RC8T too.

Well I don't think the Hyper's a bad truck. It's just that for me anyway, there are two kinds of racing - the messing around more-for-fun sort, which until last weekend I thought was defintitely my thing. And second, the more serious organized competitive racing, which I guess I'm finally ready to give a go..

For the former I think the Hyper is totally fine. It's burly and tough, for that kind of racing setup (or brakes..) isn't such a big deal..., and the Hyper is actually kind of ideal for this one rough track I like to go to(see last vid I posted..) BUT, I only get there like 2-3 times a year, cuz it's 80 minutes away(when fuel costs €6 a gallon, and I do't even have a car, but have to borrow the frau's..). So it really comes down to what's specifically available for me track-wise locally. Here in my town there's a club with a track(small) with more organized competitive racing, and I think, though I've been skeptical and dragging my feet for so long, well, I think I'll finally just pay up and join this club. Then, I'll do their races, and maybe travel to a couple a year.

There were a couple top Hypers at the race I went to as well(one with an OS Speed seemed particularly well set-up..), but they were team drivers.. A big part of my decision is lack of faith in myself to ever find a good setup(brakes..) for the Hyper. Having to order Cradock's from England as a first step, then maybe a new servo...., naa... Also, my Hyper is still in good shape, so it's just probably the right time..

But I've been hearing all over how the RC8T out of the box setup is practically perfect. And yeah, you just have to watch them up close. They ARE impressive....

It goes back to how competitive you want to be. I don't think the Hyper is bad either but I've driven other trucks and I'm more consistent and a bit faster. The truck for me has provided me with lots of knowledge. I've learned to tune it and mess with different setups yet I'm still looking for something that works. I drove a Losi 8T with a 7k/10k/5k setup and it handled great. I'm definitely a heck of a lot faster. I have seen the RC8t in action and its awesome. I still dont know about durability wise with the RC8T but I don't bash at all or crash as much as I did when I began in this hobby. My friend got me into the racing part of the hobby. I used to just drive at the track and have fun but racing with others is great too. I will save up for my RC8T and keep the Hyper around too.

Well I'm not getting any bites on the Hyper.. So maybe I'll end up with the Hyper with OS as a "bash-racer", andt he RC8T as a pure-bred racer for the organized races..

I agree the RC8T is badass !!!!! I am between a X2 or a 8T.....power will be Picco for big tracks, V-Spec for loose tracks

I could actually get the Jammin for less than the RC8T.. But seeing so many RC8T's run up close, I just fell for them.. Have never seen an X2 run, but they're supposedly good too. From what I can gather, the Jammin is prob a bit burlier and tougher. The carbon shock towers on the RC8T seem a bit flimsy to me.. But then, I don't ever run on any huge monster tracks with massive jumps, etc..

the X2 is very light as well...both machines are likely extremely similar...I have been running a X2 and i think its awesome....extremely fast rolling chassis with awesome steering..... you cannot go wrong with either
