hi im looking for a kit for racing and will be buying around christmas time. I was wondering hw these ktis do racing. I heard its heavy but how does it compare to the rc9t, mugens, jammins, and losi's. Im would be coming from a thunder tiger st1 rtr is this going to be a big diff then the st1 rtr for racing. The kitsi have in mind are the rc8t, caster k8t, and hb d8t(still in making), and gs xut team pro kit. By the time i by s there gong to be a new one out of the hobao?

400 to 450. I have found the hobao for 350 at nitrohouse. But i so far have 4 kits in mind im kind of iffy on the hobao. I like the caster k8t, hotbodies d8t (still in making), rc8t(if price goes down), and gs xut advanced pro team kit.

For the money I would either go Hyper ST Pro or the Caster K8t if I were to buy today. If you can afford the RC8t I would go that route as I have only heard good things but haven't seen one at any of the 3 tracks I race at. Hotbodies D8t, well who know when it will be out and will it be good? Can't say. I am not a fan of the GS.

If you do look at the RC8t for the price also look at the X2. If you aren't and those two are way over your price range this disregard .

Part support for GS in my area is not easy. I haven't driven the Caster or even seen one in person, I can only go by whay I have seen on the boards here and the price. I have the Hyper ST Pro and it is built like a tank. I have one race year on it and the only thing I have flat out broke was one of the rear hub carriers landing over a massive jump. Over here on the east coast it mostly a Kyosho ST-RR's and Losi 8ight-T's and I fair very well against them at the track.

Is there going to be a new hyper st out by christmas or in production, the motor i will be usng is a stock rtr ttr .28 engine. Do i use those motor mounts with the engine or the ones that come on the kt. So if i could get parts for gs should i consider it, i have the cl-1? Is thi a big step up from a rtr ttr st-1?

I honestly can't give you any direction on the GS cause NOBODY races them here. Not even any mention of them here in the NorthEast. U should be able to use the motor mount in the kit as it has multiple positions for different configs and sizes.

It might be heavy but I still place in the top 3 at every race (against X1, ST-RR, Losi 8ight-T, and lightnings) I have been too. It floats in the air and is easy to control. I can clear this triple on one of the tracks that I race at that most cannot. So maybe it's the driver maybe its the truggy. All in all I like the Hyper ST pro. The only other truggy that I would consider getting at this point is the ST-rr (which is rediculously priced) and the X2. But I might be getting out of the truggy class all together.

I know somebody on here loves to say the Hyper sucks on a Supercross style track and while that MAY be true I don't race on that kind of course here so its fine for what I need it for.

Sent you a PM. But I am moving to all electric/brushless and have a 1/8 scale buggy that I am converting. Don't want the expense of dealing with 3 classes for Lipo batteries, plus conversions. I would like to covert the Hyper to Brushless, but it would be costly and I don't think I want to dish out 600 Plus at least to convert it to electric.

Yup, I know. Spoke to VNMSGT about those already. If I get rid of the Hyper then the Castor Electric truggy might be in my future but at that time I am sure there will be many more choices as well. I already have a Kyosho 777 SP2 Buggy convertion going with the Novak 6.5 HV Pro Brushless system with SMC Lipo Roar approved batts.

Does anybody know if the Hyper ST Pro platform or chassis is layed out the same as the Hyper 8 or 7. Or even the Ofna 9.5? I am thinking of converting the Hyper ST Pro to brushless but need to get a motor mount and novak makes it for those buggies. So I don't want to reinvent the wheel and if I can just use that motor mount I am good.

Hyper 8:

Hyper 7:

I am thinking the hyper 8 but wasn't sure.

do those 4 holes mount on the exisitng motor mount holes? if so neither will fit, h8 will be too wide apart in the drection of the slots, and h7 to far apart 90 degrees to the slots. if ya' catch my drift? i had to elongate the existing slots to fit h8 mounts.

Yes that is the idea that the outer holes would match up to the motor mount holes on the chassis on the Hyper ST pro. So your saying nay! Wrong hole patterns for both. So neither would work and the Hyper ST Pro chassis isn't built like the 8 or 7 series buggies.

That was going to be my next option. Get the Hyper 8 motor plate and just drill in the chassis what I need.

sounds like a plan.

personally quite fond of mods like that... for example i am currently holding a mach .28 with a prop on it, and a nikko touring car... this ought to be a good one
