An alloy spinner like that might cost as much as 100 dollars, or more, no?

Mike I am not sure about that, but it would be money well spent I just paid $US35 for a replacement plastic unit the freight was about twice what the spinner cost! I will probably look at what it will cost to get one made locally

The CMP73" P40 shattered with the vibration of a saito 140 4 stroke , so be carrful . I am useing a Gene Barton Spinner on my P40 , wont even take the chance on the plastic one with the saito 180 .
I will buy the platt spinner for the BF109 .
I was going to test glassing the inside of the spinner thinking if it were to shatter the glass would keep the pieces intact , but I think the risk was to high

Thanks kahloq & LDM. At the A-K Models website I had bookmarked only the 109 product page, not the "main" homepage, and did therefore not see the Christmas special.

Good call , I forgot about the flightskin one , not sure of the span , I use flightskin all the time , love the stuff !!
Also I did not look at IMP scale , not sure if they offer spinners .
I bought a BF109 yesterday thanks to the post here on RCU that led me that way , otherwise I could not find the plane on his main page ?
I plan on getting the Sierra /KMP gear so I assume I need to move my rails one inch inward in order to get the higher appearance that some have menthioned

Ok Steve I will keep that in mind after it arrives , I hope it not too much cutting lol !!
I am on my CMP Fw190 , just about to glass the wings , added sierra retracts all around , split flaps , build the rudder to stand off scale , ailerons look scale ect G26ei . Tons of work !!!
Ordered a 1/5 scale sis-t canopy so that I can make it funcional and slide with the operation of the flaps . IMP interior ect , so its been a long build with much more needed
I know the plane is not 1/5 scale but the fuse and canopy demensions are so I know the sis-t canopy will work .
Ok sorry back on subject , any flight vids on this plane yet

spent about 2 hours trying to upload this to "putfile" and then gave up ended up using photobucket this is just a quick mixture check and I wanted to see how well the new engine mounts and ballancing went yes the red face is due to the effort of holding onto the beast! there is alot of wind and pull with this plane it really assaults the senses when you do it like this hey its not a flight but its close! http://s443.photobucket.com/albums/q...t=DSCF3591.flv

nope not yet the electrics are not set up as yet that just was a temporary setup to check the motor, so how is everyone routing their electrics? I did try the magnet thing for the air vent but was not happy with the result... glued it in the end, what about the routing of the servo leads and air leads from the wing? how are you doing yours? are you using extension leads from your receiver? or plugging straight in

I'm using servo extensions. My air retract system, along with the servo and air valve are all in the wing so I don't have to worry about the air line connection.

I'll take your challenge.

Its flown already, but I'm trying to get it on a vid. I need a camera man.

This is on the factory wing and not my wing with the retracts mount and slat mod.

Its simple really. I'll post a pic.

I put the Y-connection right where the lead exit the wing. Extensions on the receiver give you something to plug into. Two air connectors for the retracts. Six plugs total, four for the servos and two air plugs.

I got a spinner from Platt a couple months ago no problem. It would not surprise me if he is running out.

Mine is balanced and ready to go. O degrees here this morning and windy. You'll be waiting until spring to see my flight report.
