RE: New TF Sea Fury!!

Check your engine thrust. Mine flew great then after a flap problem causing a slow roll into the ground, I had to rebuild the firewall. It began to give me fits on takeoffs and landings. I re-checked...

RE: TF Seafury ?'s before maiden

I did mine with the gear up. I did play with moving the CG a little each way with little effect. Meaning, it is not the critical on THIS PLANE as long as it stays within the recommedations.

RE: TF Seafury ?'s before maiden

This is a very nice flying warbird. Make sure your CG is correct, mine took several (18oz.) on the firewall. The plane finished at just over 11lbs but still flew great with an OS 91 Surpass. As far...

RE: Royal Bearcat

My Royal Bearcat with an OS 91 surpass turning an APC 15-6. flies great. A very fun warbird if there is such a thing. Slows down well with the flaps. The challenge is to not bend the gear on landing....

Prop design

How does a variable pitch prop work? Not the adjustable pitch but i.e. 15x6-10 ? Are they more efficient?

RE: CG How does it effect landing?

I played around with my TF Sea Fury and the CG a little. This plane lands so well and has a nice two wheel roll out before the tail slowly settles. After a dumb thumb move and a rebuild the plane...

RE: Topflite Corsair 60 Gold Edition

The above suggestions will give you a nice flier. I would strengthen the tail (vert stab) it has a tendancy to break on a nose over. If you want to get more in depth look at this;...

RE: Top Flite Gold Texan

My TF AT-6 is a great flier but will drop a wing and snap with elevator at slow speed. CG is at 4 1/4 inches from the edge and total weight is right at 9 lbs. with robarts.

RE: Hanger9 mustang 1st flight!!

I've got a TF AT-6 with an OS 91. It flys great but lands hot with 15-6. Just by changing to a Graupner wide blade 14-7 made a world of difference. The wide blade acts as a break on final. Lands like...

RE: Top Flite Sea Fury - Engine ? Retracts?

Mine finished at just under 11lbs. then had to add 11 ounces to the engine mount area to get the CG using an OS 91 II. Still the engine flies the plane well turning a 15-6 APC. If I had one I would...

RE: Top-Flite Sea Fury and OS .61FX

I used Robart 90 degree 605HD One thing to point out is from the front the gear lean in. I would make an effort to mount the gear blocks to fix that but still allow the gear to retract into the wing....

RE: Taking off with flaps deployed?

Eactly, flaperons on a warbird wing is a NO! NO! You loose the washout and lift at the wing tip and yes tipstall.

RE: Taking off with flaps deployed?

I have used flaps on take off for both the TF Corsair and Sea Fury. I've used around 1/4 flap about 10-15 %. The Plane lifts earlier but is less aileron responsive and requires rudder control until...

effect of CG

I've been experimenting a bit with the CG on a few of my warbirds. It appears that as the CG moves toward the tail the landing of the craft becomes more difficult. I haven't moved the CG drastically...

RE: Top-Flite Sea Fury and OS .61FX

Mine weighs 12 lbs and flies well on an OS91 turning a APC 15-6. Not a speed demon but most flights are at 3/4 throttle. It took 11ouces on the engine mount so a 120 would be a good choice.

RE: Corsair ride?

The Indiana Air Museum in Valparaiso, Indiana has a Corsair F4U-5N with a jump seat. They offer rides. They also have a P-51, AT-6, T34, T28, PT-17 and a L-2. They are located at the Porter County...

RE: Prop Size for OS 91FS Four Storke on H9 P51

I've got an APC 15-6 on a Bearcat 9.5lbs, Corsair 10lbs. and on a Sea Fury 12lbs all with flaps. The At-6 without flaps at 8.5lbs is better with a Graupner wide blade 14-7. The 15-6 pulls better but...
