RE: Asphalt Runway yes/no

In my case, I learned on grass and have become accustomed to it. As a recreational, go to have fun and relax flier, it works for ME. I understand the desire to have a paved strip for people that...

RE: Preferred prop

Agreed and to clarify my question. If I go to a club field on a fun fly day, what are most people flying now. I probably shouldn't have mentioned the trainer part but the question came about because...

Preferred prop

Hi all,

I've been in and out of R/C since the mid 80's and a buddy of mine at work talked me into teaching him and his son how to fly. I pointed them in the direction of a few trainers they...

RE: AMD/KMP MODELS

(KMP) Very well put together ARFs both wood and fiberglass. Customer service is very good. Most of the hardware is poor quality. I would't hesitate to buy a plane from them but buy your own hardware....

RE: Lipo battery in transmitter

I put a 11.1v 2500mah in my RDS8000 for $40 plus shipping and it works fine. I've read we're some Radios, and I'm thinking it might have been the Spectrum radios, don't work well with them.

RE: Hinges

The debate for using CA hinges will never end. I personally wouldn't use them MinnFlyer trusts them. One thing that stands out on both side is in most ARF kits, don't use the ones that come with...

RE: P-47 Aluminum Wheels

I think Robart has some and I might also have seen some on the Central Hobbies web site.

RE: Why Airtronics?

I started with Kraft, went to the Futaba Golds, got out of the hobby for a while and came back with a JR 6 channel. I really wanted to get into 2.4Ghz radios but I just couldn't see spending the...

RE: Violent twitching of all servo's!

Just a SWAG, but if you walk away from the aircraft with your TX does the twitching go away? Some times if the TX antenna and RX antenna are too close together, the servo's will twitch.

RE: Fuel tank on its side?

Yup, no problem, you just don't want it to touch and rub a hole in the tank.

RE: Do 4stroke engines need to use 4stroke fuel?

You'll find differences of oppinions here but the way I see it, there are more moving parts in 4 strokes so I think the extra lube is needed especially if the engine is mounted upright and lube needs...

RE: Hanger 9 True Red spray paint

You're probably going to have to call around. I bought some at one of my LHS in Wichita but that won't do you much good. If you run out of options I could get you their number.

Works fine in my Airtronics.

RE: New radio systems with 700 mAh batteries.

I read in one thread that the 2.4 radios draw less power and the 700 mah battery will last longer. I went ahead and bought a Lipo battery though. I'd hate to watch a plane fly away or crash because...

RE: question about flaps....

You're going to increase your airspeed/landing speed and you're going to have to retrim the aircraft a little because with the flaps down it probably wants to climb at higher speeds. If you raise the...

RE: Y-adapted pushrod

So the wire between the two halves has come unjoined? I'd try to get the two halves rejoined before I'd go to a Y setup.

RE: can I use this fuel?????

I use 15% in my .40 thru .60 size engines. It'll run fine. It's easier to run heli fuel in aircraft than it is aircraft fuel in heli. Heli fuel has more caster oil in it. The only down side...

RE: CA Hinges

The best place for CA hinges is in the trash. I hate changing broken hinges and CA hinges, especially CA hinges that come with ARFs, break and hopefully only the hinge will need replaced. A CA hinge...

RE: Which 2.4 radio should I get?

Well you can get the DX 6 for $179 or the Futaba for $220 but their both 6 channel. Why not get the Airtronics RDS8000 8 channel for $229. There's a write up in RCU that RCKen did that has...

RE: Someone doesn't want me to fly

It's possible the battery is not any good. They don't last forever and if they're not charged once in a while, they wont take much of a charge.

RE: prop and spinner for sea fury?

Be careful with this aircraft. I crashed mine today. Partly my fault, partly not. A lot of guys are running the CG at 105mm. Your instruction may or may not be revised. I had a 36 gas in mine...
