In case it saves somebody from getting as frustrated as I feel at the moment...when applying the wing graphics, remember that the wings sit in recessed pockets and allow for that when placing the graphics...doh!![:@]

Let me see, what can I say about this new WH 50cc Sukhoi..........................WOW, WHAT A RUSH
I fianally fixed the RFI problem I was having, Ignition module was the culprit, not the cap or the lead but the actual module. I ordered one of there newer modules the chrcexl, and wala no more problems. Then on suday morning I was able to finally do the maiden.
Every thing went excellent, the motor ran great and the plane flew like it was on rails. I am a very very finicky flier. I like my planes to fly like pattern ships, very true and neutral. A well built and setup IMAC plane has these attributes and I'm happy to say so does this 50 size Sukhoi. After a few circuits getting the trims just right I went for a 45 degree up line and rolled her over, She continued on that 45 degree line for a good 2-3 seconds. Then I leveled out and pulled a long and shallow 180 degree banked turn. Very little elevator was needed. This all ment the CG was really close to perfect. Knife edge needed some mixing but I just flew the sticks, Figure I would take care of that later after the CG was a definite. But wow what rudder authority, I could fly the length of the field and pull a tight up line all while in knife edge.
Up lines, Down lines, Upwright and inverted snaps all where really close to perfect. I could not find anything to complain about. Then I tried my infamous dead stick landings. I love to stretch out my downwind legs as far and shallow as possible and then turn into final and float her all the way back. If a plane has really really light wingloading you can pull this off without touching down to soon. I was able to pull off landing that had there rollouts end at the tip of my feet.( I pick this technique up from an old 3D tape I had of jason shulman). This is a big deal when dealing with Giant scale. I have test flown planes that went deadstick and you only had so much play before you ran our of speed or space to land, But planes like this sukoi are floaters and they eliminate all the fear of a dead stick landing completely.
Im hoping to get some videos this coming sunday. But all in all I've been blessed to get exactly what I was after, an affordable and capable 50 size aerobat that excells in Imac and 3d flying. I have to thank the lord JESUS CHRIST for Tom and Whild Hare for being such a blessing to me.

Looks like you're a happy pilot. Where do you have your CG located?

I'm sorry guys, After my initial maiden all my cg adjustments are done by flight test. I never really know where exactly the cg distance moves to. I will test fly over and over until it flys right. Usally thats when inverted flight feels close to the same as my upright flying. After the cg feel right then I will move on to thrust adjustments and knife edge mixing if nescesary.
I did mark the initial cg location on each wingtip so when I go out again possibly this week I will see how far back I went. I do know that the plane was more tail heavy than the stock settings.

Woo Hoo! My Sukhoi arrived today and the box was not destroyed. Build looks good and I only have one thing to ask you folks on the cowl and fit near the hatch corners. Mine looks to have a very small gap [1/8"] on the left side where the cowl looks like it was trimmed a tad bit close. Anyone else had this or am I being too critical? I'm not overly concerned as it's very minor and the top edge looks good.
Tom - Really no need for a new cowl IMO, but you may want to keep an eye on this area on the rest ...
Build will come together fast and the plane is sweet!

Had a very bad day today, My lovely Sukhoi meet teraferma in a bad way.
To make a long story short, that BME 50 that I had been tweaking with for some time decided to die while in a 75 foot hover. Buy the time I got the nose down and tried to pull up the ground came around. I could not believe what had happened. This awesome flying model was no more.
After checking the damage I realized that virtually everthing had survived. All the electonics, the wings and stabes. Even the wing tube was still very straight. This was probaly because of the site I was flying at. A polo field with very soft and dense grass.
I felt at fault of with this wreakage because once I realized how well this plane flew, I should have stop playing with this finicky engine and saved up for that TOC 53cc or the DL 50.

Aw man I hate to see this I have an engine I keep rushing into 3-D service and ive lost a few planes one of Toms Ultimates And now a nice 85" Cap-232 I need a wing tube and a left wing for the cap and a lower wing for an ultimate. Im sure Tom will help me as soon as I get the hobby fund under control and i stop buying planes someone sold me a Honda.
this will be my fifth wabbit I need to stop breaking them soon lol my first edge still has a spot in the shop however short the fuse is after a flaim out it still takes up room.
Im very curiouse as to the CG window on the Honda.

I'm soooo depressed. Since there wasn't a rudder servo mount in the tail of my prototype and I was too lazy to cut one I have to add lead in the nose to make it balance. How cruel[&o] I suppose I could break down and install a spinner and eliminate the ballast
But maybe, just maybe, after flying it the first time I'll want the cg to go back and I'll be able to dump the lead
More after Sunday...
For those that don't want or like choke servos if you're interested I have a method of installing an easy down pull rod for the choke. All with materials you already have on hand[8D]

Did you read what you wrote?
Mine with the 3mm balanced just slightly nose heavy with the 3mm and pull-pull rudder. I doubt you need ballast. I even flew mine without the cowl which will move the CG back and there were no ill effects.
Quit trying to measure the thing in camel tail lengths and go fly. You can handle it.

Oops, you're right, that didn't come out right at all....Where the heck was my mind at? Too late to delete since it's been quoted for all to see the error[&o]Mine came out needing about 1-1/2 oz in the nose to hit mid-back of the tube. If I add a spinner it would eliminate the ballast. For the first time in forever I even used a pull-pull on a 28% plane, along with a 4.8v nicad for the ignition.
BY the time all's said and done I'm pretty sure my flying style will have all the ballast out of the nose (too lazy to cut another spinner today) and I'll end up with lead shot in the tail tube.
Why would you fly it without a cowl?
