All three are good brands, however some people get very passionate about each brand for illogical reasons (kinda like Ford vs, Holden (GM for the rest of the world))

FF, The model for the dewalt battery is DC9360 it's a 36v nano Phos Lion. when I got mine they were going for like $89-$99 on E-Bay. I just looked and they are considerably more now @ around $145 buyout. Still a bargain because I don't think you can buy 5 2s1p A123 packs for anywhere close to that price.

Here is the weather forecast for tomorrow: Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 80. Calm wind becoming south between 6 and 9 mph.
Conditions look like they will be ideal! See you guy's on the other side of the maiden!

I just got back from the field. There should be some video in the next day or two. A buddy of mine is working on it!
I am almost speachless. That plane is a confidence builder! It tracked straight down the runway and gently into the air. The nervousness was gone very quickly. I even got in a little knife edge flight. You will notice in the video, when it gets on here, that the plane reacted very strange in left to right knife edge flight. After my third flight of the day, I realized why. Most of the radio program was copied from the program I use for my Cap. As many of you know, Caps can require a lot of mixes. After copying the program, I erased all the mixes,... or so I thought. Not sure if my right to left kife edge pass was captured or not, but it flew that nearly hands off, so I knew something was amiss, on my end, for going in the opposite direction.
You will also notice that my Brison 52CC didn't seem to have a lot of pull. The engine manufacturer calls out a prop that spins in the 6500-7500RPM range. I thought I could get away with a 23X8, but it was a little too much, only reaching 5800RPM. I had hoped my new props would be here in time for the first flight, but they weren't. When I got home, my package of 22X8 and 22X10 props was sitting on the table. Maybe I can get out tomorrow to try them.
The only real problem I had with the plane was with the black stripes. Even after ironing them down, the clear coating was pealing off of them. I don't think they are Ultacote like the rest of the plane. Seemed more like Chinacote. I can replace them easily, so no biggie. All in all, I am very happy with this new addition to my hangar! Thanks Tom!!!

The black is Ultracote, but it seems to be from a bad batch or something. We've had trouble on every plane that has black trim.

Hmm! I guess a bad batch even comes from the best of them once in a while. No worry! I made some templates tonight and will remove the old black trim tomorrow. I will then install some new stuff. Really Tom, not a problem! I had a blast today!
I am already trying to figure out how to get out of working on the deck and sneaking to the field tomorrow. I guess I better get some honey do's done so I get some time off for good behaviour!

I pulled all my black stripes off, by the time I was done building I had loosened most of them up at least an inch ( Im in a wheelchair so the plane was across my lap quite a bit ) . anyway I decided to personalize it a bit. came out pretty good for my first foray into applying monocote.
Im still planning on Finishing up the graphics with some badbradgraphics.com stuff but they are low on my list of Priorities right now. I plan on having a tear effect across the wings where the checkers meet the yellow but for now I just have some automotive pin striping tape on there.

I was considering some Bad Brad Graphics as well. He is not too far from us, and in fact was at our last swap meet. I just keep looking at the plane and thinking how clean it looks at this point..

haha I just went back and looked at the picture of your daughter? standing over the tail with the engine running. I have a wuss of a friend that swears that the plane is going to pull him into the prop ROFL. So needless to say he wont stand in front of the stabs ... he insists on holding it from behind which kinda scares me.
Go fly tomorrow, tell the old lady your gonna go show the plane to a friend really quick, betcha you can get in a couple of flights and be back in enough time hehe

]The weather was bad today!!![
] No sense trying to get to the field![&o]
Just to give credit where credit is due, that picture with a pretty young girl standing over my plane, that is actually my friends daughter, and a fine RC pilot in her own right. My daughter isn't into the planes

. Maybe some day! Anyway, after the run-up, she had pretty good indentations in her legs for a while.[X(]

I have a friend at the field with a DA150 on pipes that I have stood in front of the stabs while he ran up the motor, that really scared me and almost knocked me over. When he asked me to hold back his Bill Hempel 50% Edge 540 with a EVO 300 on it I decided to take the wuss option
Cheers

The wuss option works!

It just irritates me I guess that I'm In a wheelchair and in front of the prop starting it and he's the one complaining. Also ( this really pisses me off ) " You don't know, your not the one standing there ". Gimme a break, I see a little 165lb guy holding back a DA 150 no problems.
See, here is the problem... I'm in a wheelchair leaned over sideways ( at almost full arms length ) starting it and he wants to just hold it by one hand from behind. Last Saturday I found someone else to hold for me. My friend showed up to the field in sandals and he trips over his own feet in them
It's funny as hell to watch though, he will trip and then turn around looking at the ground cussing like it reached up and tripped him , go back and run his foot over the spot like it's uneven or something LOL
I just wish he would Just tell me he's not comfortable holding the plane, no way in hell a DL 50 is going to pull the legs out from under a 200 lb man standing on an asphalt surface

For safety's sake I won't allow someone to just hold on to my plane. I insist that they stand in front of the stabs or that the plane is secured in some other way. I have seen people be inattentive, if the engine were to start at full throttle it could easily get away if the holder is not extecting it.
I value my kneecaps too much to take a chance.
Another thing that scares me is when people kneel down or sit in front of the plane while starting it. That makes them helpless to get out of the way.
Use care, all of you. These engines are dangerous.

That's Kinda My Point Tom, when I'm in my wheelchair laid over to start my plane I am pretty much at his mercy and grip only.
