Try using a peice of brass tubeing slighty larger then the hinge diameter and drill it out rather then a drill bit. It works great for me.

Hi Guys
I have just maidened my Suk and it flys like its on rails. the only problem I have is starting the 3mm.I am new to gas engines and suspect my starting procedure is wrong e.g. No of times to turn over on choke and does the throttle have to be wide open when choking?? Can someone give me a starting procedure.

Ive done the hinge replacement thing a few times. I usually cut all the hinges off with a dremell cutoff wheel and then i just use a drill bit in the dremell. i don't push to hard on the bit and i let the plastic heat up the drill bit follows the plastic and makes a nice whole for me to glue in a new hinge. In the past when i see a hinge worn out i look for other issues causing it like prop balance the need for support wires to aid in the vibrations from the engineand the the #1 cause Ive found is linkage geometry. there has to be a little give someplace. For example here is a linkage that destroyed rudder hinges faster than any other. There was no give at all here when i replaced the solid linkages with wire ones the problem went away.</p>

Many methods to use. Here's mine.
5 flips with ignition off, throttle full open and choke closed.
Open choke and a little gas falls out of the carb. Then close throttle to idle and flip 3-5 times.
Ignition on and it starts after a couple flips.
Alot of folks just keep it idle and choke closed with ignition on. Motor starts then dies due to choke. Then open choke and restart. Find what your motor likes and stick with it.
Just remember that every flip of the prop has the potential to be a start! Treat it that way and you'll keep your fingers on your hand.

If you have to flip the prop more than about 20 times starting with a completely dry engine then there is something wrong.

On the 85" Su-26 Rudder - Where do you install the tailwheel control arm? Should the holes for the wires line up with the rudder tiller?

Normally the little tiller bar is attached to the bottom of the rudder at its widest point with a couple small wood screws.

I recently purchased an SU-26 (50 cc) ARF. Received kit in good shape, no problems. Problem arises when I start to assemble. Instructions are pathetic. List of required parts is not accurate and there is no parts list of what is (or should be) included in kit. There are two separate pieces of wing (faring at trailing edge) that do not match the color of wing and are not described as to how they are to be attached.
I've only gotten to start on one wing, but the aileron horn is too short to work. Since I haven't gone any farther in the construction, I don't know what else doesn't fit.
Additionally, the instruction book states "contact Horizon Hobby" with questions. I contacted them and they say the kit is not theirs. Who should be contacted with questions?
I contacted the NitroModels help desk "RC Issue" and they said no more information is available (ridiculous, there has to be more info available). they said go to this forum. I'm here, now the question is how do I build (assemble) the kit?
By the way, I have been building models for over 30 years.
Would appreciate it if any one out there has done this kit and would be willing to correspond with me off-line.
Nitro should commission me to write a manual...after I sort it out.
