you needle settings are way off, totaly redo it from scratch.
you'll also need a few tanks trough before you notice any difference.
with synth ignore the smoke at the back, you can't use that as a mixture indicator as some people seem to swear by

Well after a bit more fiddling seems to be running decent enough but the fuel foams as it leaves the sliencer line as I fuel it....
It runs okay but I think I will switch back to MT 10 cant see any real advantage from using Prosynth...............apart from the nice colour!
Also bolts need to be tightenned here and thetre and the tail skid fell off as well as a canopy screw, good thing I ran it at home.
Still no linkages! So if they come tomorrow morning I may get it done quick and fly or leave it till sunday.

thats air coming out of the line and taking some left over fuel/oil with it, when the tanks full and overflowing it's all fuel.
surprising you've never seen this before, do you need to stir your MT before use?
swap back if you want, shame you didn't give it a chance to un-gunk the engine and see what it does in the air but never mind.

All the stuff is retightened after my C50 tried to explode [8D]
jazzed up a few bits here and there sorted out idle thingy bob,
sorry Kane no pics today my dad forgot to bring the cam yesterday so I have it today I think will take pics and get them uploaded on Monday with some flying shots if f***ing royal mail can deliver my links...[:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@]

think i might have left out a few
's and
's in the last post.
but you really wont notice much for a while. esp as you've not flown this engine on this plane on MT before.

Update:
Woke up 10:30 by my mum waving the PT links at me she said "here I beat up the post man and he gave me these"
Opened them up quality best Ive ever seen!
Then
Too long even end to end! I JUST got away with them on the alieron but the servo arm is not at 90, waaaay too long for the elv and had to use some spare rod somewhere, will change to 3mm on snap link.
I didnt use PT's horns though may change to them escept they dont lean out far enough.
So I couldnt get it done fast enough (other stuff decided to fall apart) but to cut a long sotry short it will fly tomorrow
My opinions on the PT links: EXCELLENT QUALITY! Except that the metal parts were a super tight fit so I had to use a hammer but I take it back thats a good thing!

what do you mean by too long? i had to cut 1m rods to the right lenght, or did you get the pre cut 250mm set?
my ends also wern't tight, just a good fit once the cyno was in.

aparently the metal ends were too long for the elevator pushrod, i told him just chop the ends slightly so itll fit witht eh CF rod as a joiner rather than an actuall rod.

Ok heres flight report.
First flight (test flown by Phil)
One of the bolts thread stripped and was lucky in getting a bolt of the right size off someone, Phil took her out and she took off, did some flying and brung her in when the trim started coming off. Test flown succesfully, very happy. No stall......
Second flight flown by meh
Took off and was astonished how damn good this plane was instantly started rolling going mad etc had ***** loads of fun, AWESOME! Except on a bump in the grass the UC ripped off, huh? That wasnt hard but I am assuming its me more than anything else, ie building.
Third flight
Okay UC fixed and take her up the 15 mph gusts almost fatally crash my plane but luckily I bring her in, no damage
Fourth flight, even more danger
This was the worst one, flying and enjoying myself (alot) when the elevator goes dead. I JUST manage to get her in, UC rips off (f***king wanker!), and upon closer inspection.........the elv joiner has come off.
On the elv joiner the plans and instructions didnt really point out much in the way to use it so I did it how I had seen it before and thats by grooving the balsa deep then glueing them in. I used cyano and it came off in flight. So now I am going to hot glue it (I dont have epoxy) and clamp it as well.
This plane is the best I have flown, shame about the crap that happened.
One other thing, I think a load of fuel got into the tank bay and soaked everything, luky it was proofed but my fuel line hole is the culprit I think....
I am repiaring the UC plate just wish I was a better builder meh......
I spokle to a weston uk display guy and he said the C140 is way better which makes me think...............
Capiche? Capiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiicccccccccccccccccccc cchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee THIS PLANE RULES!!!!!!!!!

Do not use a hot glue gun, thats worse than cyano, epoxy is the only way.
Hot glue gun can have some spongy properties and it's adheasive properties are sh$t. You should have drillied into the elevator leaving some wood behind to aid with the strenght. But only use epoxy on it.

your joiner sits on the inside of the elvator halves? eek, mines drilled in about 4-5 mm from the edges, the horn also straddles one holding it in.
don't glue the plate back in... take all the balsa off the bottom and replace with ply ( coppying the lighting holes ) shave the lower and larger peice of ply off the UC plate and glue the left over bit the other side of the new ply base.
this is the best way to keep the UC on the plane. far too many planes now have this tiny UC block, when you look at a block 1" wide and the wheels are 6"+ away it's just not gonna hold.

too late now I did a quicke when I got home but I see your point that Ucblock didnt look too good, it was always the balsa that went, next time I will do what you've said and put a whole incorparated bit in.
I think if Archie and the Baron could see how ive errrrrr mashed one of these togethe they would hunt me down.
But it flys! I think with 1.5 mm rod on the elv or something silly like that....
Wonder how long it will last?[X(][X(][X(]

Very dodgily, this is getting scary as Archie said once to me.
Apart from serios UC mayhem, joiners not being done properly and coming off, one elev stab started to come off from the hinges!!!!
If I hadnt sealed it with tape I wouldn have crashed and gone free flight by now.
I think soaking the plane in an epoxy bath will work.
Otherwise I will pick up some 5 min epoxy tomorrow, I have none, from the LHS epoxy the joiners proper, somehow clamp them with screws and plastic strip and thats that sorted. The UC is already repiared but I need to avoid getting addicted to flying slow.
The main thing Ive realised is that these things fly waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay slow so to bring them in I need to keep a few clicks off idle.
Any bets on how long this plane will last?

No really.[X(]
Thanks Sprink, if only others dropped their ARTFS and got one of these top cats.!

Pics, taken in my shed, yes it has carpet![X(]
Last pic is a funny one, I am sure I wasnt running but that is test pilot Phil with the tranny, he flew it I was not bothered to take a risk.[&:]
By the way thanks to you guys here on RCU for your encouragment and help throughout the build.
I have flooded the joiner with expoxy and clamped it both sides with brass and expoxied that, its well secure now and the hinges are good to go as well. I just need to check the NiCad and see for any fuel damage, still puzzled slighty as to how so much fuel got into the tank bay.
