1) Fuel up ready to go and flicked it... ang on the prop driver aint straight.... closer inspection... the crankshaft is bent !
2) Had a customers W36 in the van.... out with mine, in with his (got more stock at home so Ill swap it in time..)
3) pipe back on... nope, thread in the mani stripped... fcuk !
4) grapped a new pipe... fitted...
5) throttle way out... 20% move on bottom 120% on top half of stick. never mind it will do to run in the motor.
6) one flight, tried to practice T&G in a 1metre box.... not very good with this throttle setting... forget it go home..
expensive day !
fingers crossed things go better for the comp or it will have to be the elec cougar instead !

Philly,
Unlucky with your prang, but good to see you pushing the envelope its the only way to get better! I trashed my last Cougar doing pretty much what you did but now I'm amazing (only joking!)
Archie,
How did you bend the crankshaft on the West? You weren't practising lawn darts were you

why into the garden??
ARGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! and breathe
the further out on the arm you go the more load on the servo and the less torque you get.
) it isnt an issue.tho......... 12.25x3.75 VS 13x4 12 hangs better, bit faster pick up, 13 was better for flying from point to point, and thrust in spins which pulled it round, also better in the climb. tho it was lumpy and bumpy in the air today, need more flight time to find out for sure, Choppy reckoned the 13x4 might be laging slighty now, but the West 50 takes ages to break in, and it'll get better, better?!!!!! YER BABY!!!
12x6 still to try
philly... if you had long grass then you should not have attempted to harrier it... at this size the model gets an urge of forward speed just before it hits the deck.... what did you expect ?
the grass has just been cut, and i mean 5 mins before i landed, i came down with hardly any forward speed thanks to the wind ( pevisious harriers aimed off patch due to backwards flight!!! ), which is unlike most landings, so i don't think it was any forward surge that did it, just the decent rate which is much higher than normal landing even tho it was pretty slow. more throttle pulled the nose up, tail landing bad... less elevator gave forward speed, not a harrier.
leasson learnt, won't land from harrier again. no wonder Ali didn't like it before lol
plus point from today, i was told mine flys much nicer than Malcs, much more direct and connected. John also got a go, and i had him doing low KE for the camera within a few passes, he got a bit crossed up after a low stall turn and the snappy low speed pull out but he liked it overall.
when John had the camera i had some damn low and slow KE, almost hover at one point. i can't do that!!!!!! oh.. it's the plane making me look good lol
Unlucky with your prang, but good to see you pushing the envelope

Harrier landing...
welll what can I say....
you didnt glue it right...
I did two harrier landings at sandown no damage !
Philly, email me the best shots please.. )only the best ones
BTW.. I got a stroppy email from Island Hobbies today asking what I was doing using their name !? didnt even know they existed.... www.islandhobbies.net
Im sure that wasnt there when i registered .co.uk, but they say theyve been going for six years. Only one I foujnd was .com which is a bit out of date and not directly in the field..
Is there a way to determine when a site was registered ?

torque roll over the runway, tail slide into a harrier, and the engine stopped about 20 ft up... only one choice and that was to watch,,,, wasnt even shrove tuesday !
u/c survived though ! just jad to glue back the plate.

i have diffrent bolts now ( clearish, not black ) if they are any better i dont know, but i'd still rather break those than rip things apart. Holes in wings are one thing, ripping things out is another. just wish there was a longer version so i didnt have a metal bolt on the wing, got one plastic, one metal just so it reaches.
page updated, working, just click the thumbs. pics don't look as good as grahams tho, would look better if it wasnt still all white too.
night guys
<--- called Embarassment smiley, but i think hes tired

Archie,
Hinges gratefully received today, thanks! If you want to check when a site was registered go to any of the site search pages and enter the name you want to search, if its taken it should provide a link for you to see who has it and when it was registered.

Played with trying to sort out the throttling problem this morning. Cleaned everything, checked all the pipes for leaks, changed the filter, checked the system for presure, and back outside to try again.
Still wont throttle
Took it back in the garage, thats it I'm taking that carb apart
Hello whats this , only one screw holding the carb on, and thats loose. No wonder it wont throttle, been sucking in air all over the place.
Take the carb off anyway, to check it over, bugger me where the second screw should go, there wasnt even a screw hole
Take one drill and sloooooowly drill out the carb, then tap it, and now find a screw to fit. Voila the carb feels solid.
Take it back outside, wahay, two tanks of fuel and she has full responce right down to the slowest tickover I've seen, push the stick and growl, where back in business. (I bet the neighbours are just as happy as me )
I'm gonna wring this "friskey filley" this Sunday up the field.
So check those new SC, ASP and Magnums, anc make sure those two screws are doing the job. Unlike mine

ummm the old Island Hobbies bit looks similar dunn it..... tho theres two way of looking at it..
one you nicked their name. well, online thats b******s, how often have you tried to find a site for a well know shop ect, typed .co.uk only to find sommit else, the shop you want put a -uk or sommit in there.
second way, if someone typed .co.uk ( looks like an american site so they would have to be a bit stupid ) they'd get yours, opps, wrong site, i'll try .net or .com but i'll bookmark this. other way round, they type .net looking for yours, find that site, oooh, looks intresting, i'll bookmark that. so you both get a bit of extra traffic by mistake.
