I see Carbon copy are advertising C140 canopy and cowls, so I guess they are available. Archie, I know the kit isnt ready yet, but are the plans available for the 140 ?
I fancy building one from the plans as I did with the C50, once I finish my current project.
Nearly lost my C50 the other day - the screw holding the barrel in on the Irvine varb came loose resulting in an awkward deadstick. Luckily no damage. Phew, but it made me realise how pi**ed off I would be if I lost it. I need a spare Capiche !

My C50 came yesterday from carbon copy. Looks really nice, seems the wood quality is very good as well. I will start the build tonight. By the way, I intend to use a Saito 72 for it.
Sprink, thanks for notifying us about the Just Engines offer.

Another Saito 72 powered Capiche at EMC!!
Your'll enjoy building it, it is easy to put together. And I know you build well so it should look and go well. Keep us updated.
Baron, I'm not a member of Addlestone, only Luke is.

Well Well Well!
It will be interesting to compare tach readings e.t.c, particularly side thrust now there are 3 up and coming capiches at elmbridge.
Dad has put another degree of right thrust in. I think he said the amount programmed into the kit was 2 degrees. It definitely needed more with the Saito 72 because mine after trimnming in vertical climb at fullpower wanted to do a control line circuit at idle. Now mines got 3 degrees, and a bit more up thrust( it seemed to do walls a lot better inverted when i had exactly the same movement either way) I will see how it goes with these hopefull improvements on sat morning at addlestone.

hmm, I'll put some right thrust in from the start on mine, should save trying to re adjust the cowl afterwards.
I imagine this increase is due to us using 6 inch pitch props on the four strokes, where as the first ones when launched had the 4 inch pitch props.
Up thrust as well? Thats an odd one, given that it is almost a mid wing design.

Upthrust seems to help when prophanging [8D] Must affect it in Straight and level though??
Pic you favoured characteristics 3d \up thrust aerobatics as is.
Umm never intended the model for Os 91 fx's and Saito 70!!! Huge amounts of torque!!
Even more than 3 degress may be necessary??
BTW Luke tell dad its three as standard.

Gasp horror! Thats a first for dad to get it wrong! So ive got four degrees on it now![X(]
I hope the extra upthrust will be alright. I noticed that in upright walls you really had to hang on the elevator even when it reached vertical, whereas with inverted it does goes to a dead stop with a stab of elevator. Maybe the cartwheel put in a bit of down thrust into the firewall.

Well my Capiche is finally ready for it's first flights. So 2nd one up flying at Elmbridge (still haven't seen Luke's yet though).
It has come out a little porky due to using an OS70 FS and solarspan2000. No cowl or stickers yet. It is 5lb without the canopy and cowl. so with both these it will be ~5lb 3oz. Still if I decide I like it, I can always save 3-4oz by switching to an OS Ultimate when it eventually comes out, or perhaps a YS63 (so long as it will run happily on Bekra16%).
It was a real pleasure to build and went together really well, despite having not built a plane for about 4 years.
I plan to fly it Saturday morning and I am really looking forward to it. I have set the CofG fairly conservatively at about 120mm, but have the maximum movement possible with my current linkages which for elevator is about 50degrees up and 70degrees down - should be enough. I have 3 rates with plenty of expo set so I can tame it down to start with and build up to it if necessary.
If it get more flights than my helis then I will know I must like it.

Thanks Archie.
Pictures attached - It is a little bland at the moment but I plan to add some stickers later. Perhaps some yellow "Capiche50" and Island Hobbies logos etc for the top would look good. I was also thinking of doing every other bay on the bottom of the wing blue to give a striped effect.

Hey Phillybaby....see you've got as Weston Logo on that Capiche - I have the original files for this and West engines if you want them in cutter friendly .ai. format.
PS I like the colour scheme.

i simply borrowed them from the Weston site, gave them to the cutters, they tidied it ( gave it rounded wing tips too
) Was going to have the West logo too, but thought it might be overkill. dunno, never really played with it.
the scheme started long ago. i'd always fancied a aerobat in the FedEx colours. when i saw the Capiche i wanted one, so i Photoshopped the graphics on to existing Capiche pics. I'm pretty pleased with the result, more than that infact, it's turned a rather dull white and purple plane into the great looking beast thats sitting downstairs.
i'm always on the hunt for decent logos, send em over
Thanks

very nice phil...
when you have the better pics you want email them to me [email protected].
Theres enough time.
Simon... whats wrong, you gone off Capiche again !?
Just come in from the workshop... YS 63 now fitted to my trusty C50, new GRP cowl added (ABS one before), bigger tank, bigger battery, and tru turn spinner annodised red courtesy of the Barons mate.
PUKKA ![8D]
AUW has gone up 3oz though as a result.... now a sniff over 5lbs... dont expect I will notice, and with the fuel tank back between the wing Ds the extra fuel should create less variance in the cg than the lighter load did before.
Plan is to try it out tomorrow.
Then it will be change over of servos, those JR591s are cheap but they are well cheap ! SLOP all over the SHOP !

and don't i know it on those 591's, makes you wonder why the JR motto " feel the difference " is meant to be a positive thing.
when i've got spare £ again i'll put something useable in there
