So you like it then Kevin?!!
Given the wind this weekend, I impressed you flew at all.
I may have mine ready for Sunday, but it will probably be the weekend after as it will take time to install the radio etc. [
] Should have all the covering done by the end of the week. Will post a photo once done.
Philly, looks like you have done the funfly wing, not sure about the diehedral though[&:]

Kevin, I have to agree your C50 looked good. I particularly liked the climbing inverted flat spin.
On the building side of things, I havent had much time due to flying all day saturday and being out all of Sunday. I did spend about an hour on Saturday evening so the wing is now ready for sheeting.
I also built the elevators last night as I didn't have time to start something big.
I was happy to see that using the recommended method for wing building, the wing so far seems nice and straight.
Tonight I may find time to do a bit more.
Andy

I used the Multiplex Royal digi's on the wing of this and the elev on a madness, which I have been fairly impressed with so far. They are fairly similar to the JR4231 on the tail of the Capiche, which are slightly more expensive. They are about the £30-£35 mark. Nice long, tough servo horns supplied with it aswell which also fit JR.

Walls and waterfalls were great but when I tried a parachute and flip-flop type parachute (whatever that's called) it would only go to 45 degrees nose down so I am hoping moving the CofG should help improve this.
Well Philly... well done you, you did it ! The first ever Capiche 50 Fun......mor epictures if you will...
tell us more all about it... it you think it is a winner then a wing kit will be produced...
Andy, I know they are well under the 30 mark but I would say Furabas new 3010 is, as Philly suggests, probably the best ecomony bet.... otherwise you got 9202a bu they are 30 something I think, and then you head up again.
I think the 3010 is a fine match for competent pilots.

no problem, i was wonder how long it would take after i sneaked in a pic a while ago. i gaveup and had to slap you guys with a big wet fish till it got noticed.
I think it's a winner, and i'm not the only one, Christmas might come earlier than you thought Archie.. this isn't a fly by night thing i did.
i've taken shots along the way and a web page is on the build as we speak.
flight report. DAMN! windy, i needed to put in some down trim compared to the other wing ( think i got the engine angle wrong when i put it back after doing the graphics ) on KE i don't notice any roll, but it does go towards the wheels, nothing i can't hold with stick, nothing i can't program out, nothing i cant really blame on the extra down thrust, noting unexpected with a more draggy low wing. stabilty is great, roll rate good, it still looks great, transistion into hang is much easier, waterfalls are even tighter, the harrier isn't as stable as before, the wing keeps trying to fly, but less wind, less elevator and we'll see what we have. the elevator is VERY powerful now. walls are like you've hit one, might be the CofG too farback, but i have it kinda far back on the other wing too, i also have heavy ailerons that dont help, the wing is over built in the center and the heavy ailerons only add 6oz to the AUW over the other wing. she was flying backwards yesterday, and when landing at 0 forward speed jumped up 6 feet when i pulled back coz it wasn't done flying.
Choppy had a go and said it's great, TR and hangs good, just need less wind to find out for sure.

LOL I managed to miss it, despite the picture and the 'look what it did to my wing comment' !
well done, the rectangular wing looks odd to me, but thats probably because I have been conditioned to see the Capiche with the existing wing.
Whats the complete weight of the model with the fun fly wing ? What engine are you using ?

Very good Phil... that first shot of the wing is a great one.... would be good to get some more of the centre... Im sure you have those.
Just come off the phone to the Baron to fill in some blanks... you are a crafty pair !
We shall be building the same wing here as soon as the cnc parts are done for some quick testing but in view of your comments abd the fact that FFly wings are not rocket science Im sure there will be no need for alteration.
So.. the Fun Fly wing could be out before Christmas afterall...
Phil... when you are ready, send me a zip file of all the pics you have so that I can organise something for the wite, and of course for the fortchoming newsletter...
Whilst Im typing, thought I would mention I had another pic through from another Capiche 50 owner and I liked the simple yet effective scheme so I thought I would put it up here.

"It flew very well , flies clean and accurate . Vey responsive control surfaces on low rate."

my standard dry weight is 4lbs 15oz with a West 50, don't ask where the weight came from, i don't know, i even have a mini throttle servo. i'm at 5lbs 5 oz with this wing, the loading is real low.. i had my doubts over the wing section, it was going to be Hypeish, sharp LE and high point further forward, but this wing is ok so far, no complaints.
KE is very good considering it's a funfly, and i think half the trouble is my CofG and downthrust, inverted and full throttle i bunt lol all easily sorted with a allen key and a shift of the batt. i do have two seperate memorys for each wing, but so far i've only taken the elevator expo to -80%, thats the only thing i change other than the wing. couldn't be simplier hey
the wing really doesn't look out of place once you get going, it's lacking the graphics right now ( doctored that other pic ) but now i'm happy i can get some made up.
yesterday i was quite happy throwing it around in the wind, i was the only one flying coz the rest did'n't like it.. think i'll leave the other wing for the nice weather when you can do good pattern, this wing is for fun and when it's rough.
one club member is sold on the plane now hes seen both wings fly.

my centre section is a bit different, it was trial one, and not as simple as it could be, together i think we've got a perfect double brace sorted that the other wing simply slides on/in to sorting the dehideral at the same time.
wether it looks like the thing i was thinking of when i badly described it to Malc i dunno, guess we'll see
zipping files now...

That looks good Phil, and I thought you were just playing around with the photos.
Archie, if you need a tester for the production FF wing, just let me know
(gives me an excuse to get a YS 63)

Blimey Phil!!!! [8D]
I spent all night doing the puccka cnc files. Looks like you spent all night on your web page
A wee more testing in calmer weather is the order of the day. I think possibly a small ballast box may be necessary for the "Capiche Fun" I reckon most of your pitching problems are cg related not thrustline. Either that or a movable rec nicad??
Damn gonna have to build one now
PS Ta for being the Guinea pig Phil
Archie
You wont know how hard to keep it Q it was????? [:-]
