Saw your post and had to let you know that I went electric for my lunchtime fix, compact, powerful, great flying and no mess or field equipment. I am starting on my second E-flite YAK-54 it will do everything the big boys do for alot less. The initial cost is high, but at $60 a pop you can afford to go through a couple over the summer. Ive been averaging two flights a day for the past two months, its too easy. Keep the glo or gas flying for the weekends. Just a thought.

Flew today. 3-13 minute flights. Not even one crash?!?!?! Amazing. Anyways had a great day. I think I'm over the bad feelings. Flew the big UCD. I like this plane but I really do like the 40 better. It just fits my style. However, you fly what you have. Talked to Horizon yesterday. They said the Showtime will ship Monday. I'll probably have it on July 1st. Maybe give me the long weekend to put it together. I'm really looking forward to this plane. I'm waiting to make a decision on the next 40 size plane. I'll keep you posted. For right now...YAK on the back, It's Showtime!!!Thanks,
Barry

Barry... Sorry to hear about #4... If you replace, I think another
would be better than the Harrier... Well at least better looking:-)
On another sub... You selling the Yak????
I have been in CA.. Helping my Mom the last few weeks.... So no
flying... Did get two good days yesterday and today... That was
on the profile... Still need to switch out the YS to the Mag on the
UCD.... But man is it HOT... Yes it's "dry heat" but it's HOT:-)
Gray was looking for Trona in hopes of catching you at your flying
spot, But guess I missed it...

Hey Gary... I see it now:-)... No where near our route..
It would have been nice meeting you.... And it would
have been Great for you seeing the cirkus crew flying:-)..
Barry.. I read your Yak post... So have fun with your Yak
build which ever comes first.... I'll just wait in hopes on E.F.
getting their parts..... Guess the S.T. got through before
E.F. It's kinda hard competing with the Wal-Marts of the
Hobby.....
Well was hoping to get the Mag 91 switched to the UCD, But
I may have to wait till the AM... Too Hot already....
Have fun People....

I've already got the wings built for the YAK. I went with Dubro hinges. But as soon as I get the Showtime I'll stop on the Yak and build it. That's the plane I really want to fly. I'm hoping it will be much better than the Funtana. The initial reports are a weight ready to fly at about 8.5 lbs (less fuel) That will be a good fit for the 110. Of course the Yak will be about that too, but everybody already knows everything about the Yak, maybe not the truth, but everything good. Both look like very good planes. I'm impressed with the quality of the Yak but it not any better (equal to but not better than the Mayhem) I like the design but the fuse is simply huge. But what I need is a 40 size plane but I'm building two 90 size planes. Go figure. Oh well, I appreciate you guys letting me stay on this thread. Thanks,
Barry

This forum has become just about completely useless from a technical aspect. How is anyone going to filter anything out of almost 3000 postings?
We all need to use the pm function for non UCANDO 3D replies and only post info directly relating to the UCANDO 3D.
Just my 2 cents worth.

I think by page 60-70 there was plenty of information on the UCD as far as technical information. I think its turned into a lot more chat about everyones experience with the plane and how much they love flying it. Plus I have never seen a question go un-answered.
I think we should all just keep going as we are cause I love the plane and I like keeping up on this thread.

I have an OS 91 in my UCD 46 and would like to replace the OEM muffler with one thats lighter.
Anyone have an idea as to where I can go to get one? I'm looking to reduce weight and maybe pick-up a little more power.
Also,,,Does anyone else have this motor in their UCD 46? I was wondering what prop thie using if they are. I'm pretty happy with a 14X4W APC, but wondering if there something better for extreem 3D.
Thanks !!!
Thanks

Well, from a technical stand point there has been a wealth of info come from here. There have been lots of things that people on here have come up with regarding changes and upgrades and it's been really helpfull that people have posted them and commented on them. The problem is like you say there are a lot of pages to search through to find them. I'll have to start keeping track of the info type stuff so that if a particular question comes back up we can direct people to the post it's on. I still have pictures of the changes I have made to the landing gear and other stuff and I'll bet other people do to. Is there anything in particular that is needed so that we could post some pictures and talk about it?[8D]

Ok guy's I too enjoy the he#& out of my UCANDO. All I was trying to point out is it is impossible to read each post to try to find particular info. Not Bashing just trying to figure out how to get just the techy stuff and not all the rest. If anyone knows how to do that I would certainly be interested. The way it is now for example you cant do a search just for say UCANDO and props and get just that info or maybe you can and I am doing it wrong. If there is a better way please explain.

Great picture Twindadday. Well I know there has been a lot of info from Barry about sewing props together. He hasn't divulged yet how he does it so I don't know for sure how it's done. [:-] I'm sure someday he'll post some pictures of the process...............[8D]
But seriously, I'll start keeping track of the pages or posts that the technical stuff comes up on and jot it down for future reference. What engine are you running?? What prop are you using??
Oh almost forgot....... I'm going to fly the UCD again, tomorrow.....

The house is almost packed up and ready for the move to the new hangar next week so I'm going to get out and spew some nitro...

Swapping it to a Magnum 70 4s that just arrived today. I have a 46 2s in it now and just alright. The 70 4s should really rip. Cant believe they would say you could use a 32 2s in this plane. That is marketing bull!

It seems there were a couple of guys on here that had put a Magnum 70 in there's and liked it. These planes seem to really like 4 strokes best and from about a 70 on up. (or a 63 YS) I have a Saito 82 in mine and it's just perfect for me. I use an APC 14x4W prop on it......[X(]

I have an OS 70 SurpassIII with a 14x4W on mine and it is just right with 15% fuel. I use 30% so I can have "afterburner" if I need it.
I still need to put some more right thrust in. Either that or I'm way out of balance laterally. What do you think guys: When I pull hard for a wall or something like that, it's straight up perfect. However, when I start to hover it yaws HORRIBLY to the left, I have to keep like 75% right rudder in it to keep the nose pointed heavenward. No bad tendencies on takeoff, roughly laterally balanced before first flight and havent moved anything. Even if it is off a little on the lateral I don't think it would be this bad. Rudder and fuse are straight as an arrow. CG @ 6 1/2".

I have a Magnum .70 and it has plenty of power, was running a 14X4 prop but just changed to a 13X6 to have just a bit more speed. There are 6 of us at my field with the same plane/similar power plants. We're trying to do some synchronized flying and will see if this lets me keep up with the OS/YS engines.
I'm not that great of a pilot but I can do things with this plane that I can't even think about on others.
