Bummer about them not finding your receiver problem. I have gone to SPCM on every plane I have and I'll never go back. It seems to fix all of those strange little glitchy issues.

Yeah, I meant PCM above...., That's what my F90, ex-X100 3D buddy told me also... But I
have to save up a bit....
Rob, I checked all, I even put on new exts...... Ohh well... I did test the 3800 receiver I just
got back and all worked great this morning??? I also call Hitec, and asked for advise, But all
that I have done was pretty much what he said to check.... Anyway I asked if they would
just change out the ant. and recheck if I sent the super slim back, he said no problem and
that it would be the same cost as last time..... Free
Then I said, But I'll pay for shipping
twice, He said can't doing nothing on the shipping, " But I could charge you for the work if
you like " [X(].... You know my reply

Hey Ron, Does anyone else at your field have glitch problems? Just wondering if there's something in the area to were you fly. Does the plane glitch at home? Does it glitch when the engine is off, on, or both?

Hey Rob.... We at times have some hits at the field, but I guess no more than anywhere
else... And I'm the only one at the field with channel 23 since joining the club...
I get 100' + range check engine on/off. I always check at the start of the morning and
when switching planes.. I was going to send in my radio for a check up, But it's been
under a yr. since I last sent it... Plus, no problems with the other planes, well as long as
I tape the "Do's" ant. to the wing... I'll see how it goes, it worked great last time out,
maybe it'll be good now.... But any new receivers from this point will be PCM...
Gary... Nice trainer... Should be fun and an enjoyment!!! Not sure if I should ask....
But was it bad bearings???? Ahh... You... them??? I really have not put much time on
my 100 with them bearings... But was just wondering.... Since I have been telling a
few at the field about them...

Hey again Rob.. Your post helped me
.... Thanks... You got me thinking so I went
through the ST again, I did not find anything.. But my spinner gap is real tight, and it
would rub everynow and then so I thought I'd enlarge the mounting holes to get a bit
more clearence and check all..
Anywho while doing it I saw my wire I put on my muffler after my "thing" with the
fence and there was a rubbing mark on the muffler???? I forgot about adding that...
So I just removed it...
... We'll see..
While cleaning the YS I also saw the filter I have on the pressure side had backed off or
I forgot to completely tighten when I checked all when installing the new mount, so I got
that tightened up... I thought the pressure was a bit lower when I would refuel, But the
YS has been SOoooooooooo Good, I would have never found that.... Hey, Things are
looking up....
My wheel pant is drying, I had cracks from my "incident" and it has been a bit weak, I'm
starting to dislike those things..... So will see in the AM... Depending on wind...
Now I'm thinking about not sending my Super slim receiver back.. The tech told me that
the slim "could" be a bit more sensitive to interference than the 3800's due to the double
boards in the slim.... I did not believe him [X(] Maybe that's why they stop making
that model......
Gary... They are a great price...... Hopefully it was just a bad set....
Merry Christmas all... And have a Safe and Very Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!

Hi to the UCD 40 group. I have had mine in the air now for about 4 weeks, and am thrilled with the perfomance. the ability to go soooo slow. And I am getting closer and closer to houvering. But a question. My plane seems to have a harmonic noise. It gets louder and quieter at differend throttle settings. Any suggestions as to how to fix or lessen that problem? I am using the Saito 82, and a 14 x 4 prop, and 15% cool power at sea level. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Jim Tucker, Clearwater Florida.

Mine sounds like a drum being beat. They all do. It's just a function of a thick wing, lot of wing area and a tight monokote with a large space between spars (read super light weight plane). I've had several and they all did it.What can you do about it?....Enjoy one of the finest, funnest planes on the planet.
thanks

yep, Barrys right, patnjim, they do make noise and the only thing to be done is to make sure the prop and spinner are balanced, and even then there is still a drum roll........you will get used to it as you go, i did

I was wondering about the noise myself. It flies so fun that I just got used to it. Nobody at the field has said anything about though so I figured it just sounds like that.
Winds are about 20 to 25 now and forecast the same for tomorrow. More build time I guess.

Soft mounts help quite abit, On my "Do" #1 I had a Hyde soft mount and it was a lot
quieter than my normal mounted "Do" #2... Not sure if the quietness equates to the
cost of the mount, but then again it helps on equipment also.. If I ever have to remove
my tank, I have been thinking of using that mount again.... But as said above just enjoy
the easy of flight of the "Do" with the sound of music...

Hey Barry, Glad you had a great day. I know the feeling. It's so cool when the weather cooperates, the planes fly good, and the pilot does well too. What a feeling.
It was raining here....... [>:] So I didn't get to fly. I got my wife her big Christmas present though so that was good.
I gotta get some flying though....... This is driving me nuts...... I hate winter.... There's no use for it.....[>:]

I just picked up a UCD 46. Will the Saito 100 be too much? What should I use for servos? I think I will be using standards and a HS-5625 on rudder. Any build tips?

you will want to beef up the LG a little, i just drilled a couple holes horizontally through the LG block and ran in a couple of peices of allthread with a little epoxy in the holes and on the threads and its still all together.
(pic below)
your servo selection will be fine.
just mount the engine as far forward ao the mounting lugs on the engine are even with the end of the mount, you may have to sand(dremil) off a little of the mount where the bottom left mount screw goes.
any more questions just ask
#5625
yes that is the stock mount in the above pic.
allthread is a threaded rod that you can get at any home depot type store, get either 6-32 or 8-32 size, then cut it to length(they come in approx 3ft lengths) and put a slot in the end for a screwdriver and you can screw it in for a snug fit (with epoxy all over it
) just make sure that when you drill the holes you stay clear of the LG mount screws, (look at above pic)
