Nice UCD room Gary... If your using a 4.8v wall wart... My understanding
is it will not work on the 6v.... I use my Accucycle or fast charge with the
field charger for my UCD.... But as always I could be off base on this:-)
And as always I claim it's the heat that makes me do that...
Yeah hovering kind of came eaiser for me for some reason, first I barely
could do it, but I was trying it on my Avistar and 4*.. So I started practicing
on my AFP sim for about a week, then it just all came to light:-) So when
I started with the UCD, I thought it did it so well... But the profile... It's
like its hanging on the wall:-)
Yeah I thought it was history on my ground level flip flop, But as I keep
hearing... Keep flying it to the bitter end:-)
hockeyrules99... What profile is that?? Is the other half of the wing the
Ails:-)

Raideron, Wow that's cool that you got the hovering down. I'm no where near able to tail touch. I think I can hover, but in reality it's only 20-30 seconds and then I get nervous and fall out. But I get a little better each flight. I practice every time I fly. It's fun. But tail touch, never.gjeffers, nice room, is that a half UCD60 on the wall. I usally just cut the tails off, as you've seen in an earlier post, and my intent (although I haven't done it yet) is to glue the tails onto a wall in my garage. But hanging it on al wall is cool too.
Thanks,
Barry

I remember now hockeyrules99 about your boxxer... Should have figured
it out with the narrow wings...
Barry yeah for some un-known reason prop hanging just fell in place for
me.... Guess I was just lucky on that one... Tail touching was one of my
goals, But it does get the blood pumping.... Now for an inch off the deck
high speed K.E.........

Yeah I saw that one Gary... Man coming in at that speed and dipping down
like that... Well not quite like that :-) But Man what a rush that has to be!!
Pretty strong plane huh:-)... I also like the one Kyle does with his F90 when
he leaves the tip of his aileron behind.... So much to learn, and most the
time my thumbs just will not cooperate... But I love that feeling.....
Waiting for a 110..... My 110 is waiting for a plane... We must be pretty
much in the same area:-))

anybody elses ailerons warped? i just got to looking because ive had to add left ail for level flight so i checked the lateral balance, and the left side was heavier but that made no sence because i had to add ail to go left, so i began a very comprehensive visual
and noticed that on the left ail the inside was higher and the right was lower and the outsides were opposite, wa la, they were actually creating an even reaction but just looked uneven(does this make any sense to anyone?)any suggestions on how to re-warp them back to norm, it really flys ok but i will not be able to forget it now[&:]

Gary.... Have someone twist the Ail. stright or slightly more and
use a heat gun on the covering, let it cool somewhat before
releasing and it should help... I did that to mine, and also on my
profile's elevators(only one servo with bulsa that connects both
halfs) And it did the trick... Most likely have to do it again, but
it helps sometimes....

gjeffers. That's called wing wong. It's prevelant in all your nicer airplanes. It's in there by design. Do not try and remove it. It is turned a special way given your geographic location. That's why they send some plane from Nevada and some from Illonois. It's purpose is to counteract the prevailing wind. Some of your lesser ARFs don't have this feature. Thanks,
Barry

I think both Barry and CeeGee, Have it wong... But me no got
no antsa fo whots white... But I do believe Evil is on to somting
Well I think I'm going to slow down somewhat on tail touching..
I had 4 good ones today and on try #5 all went well so I thought
I'd pull out in a K.E..... It looked good at first, But as I increased
the rudder and the tail dropped the Rt. ail. end caught the deck:-)
soooooo it did a cartwheel.... D_m and I was having sooooo much
fun... Now I can attest to the strength of the profiles... I only had
a broken prop and the end spar of the Ail. was pushed in and it
didn't even tear the covering:-)))) Better lucky than good:-)
So added six more flts. on the UCD:-) .. Great Day over all...

Raideron, glad to hear you had such a good day. I'm sure those tail touches look very cool.
I unfortunately had one hard landing that ended up as shown below. What is the best way to repair and strengthen the gear? I'm sure it has been discussed before and I'll page through the other posts to see if I can find it...
Thanks,
v_twin1k

v_twin1k... Yeah they will come apart if you don't strength the block..
The way I did mine ... I used 1/4 angled bulsa(4), I applied C.A. on to
the bulsa strips and let dry then I epoxied it to the four corners of the
L.G. block.. I did not go very high on the wing side of the block, But on
the firewall side I went up pass the lite ply that the bottom of the tank
sits on and also added more epoxy around the block.. It's pretty strong
now... I've had the plane drop on the gear from about a foot and a half
from a dead stick and the gear stayed on... I think it was Gary and
maybe CeeGee that added pushrods??? from the wing opening glued
to the block and out through the ramp under the engine compartment??
But you'd have to find the post to be sure, It's just a few pages back I
think....
I'm letting the glue dry now on my profile before putting the cover back
on... It'll be good to go for the A.M.

I use plastic bolts through my undercarridge, still breaks the bolts on the hard landing but better than having to fix the whole block, most of the time you can get the bolts out at the field, replace them and carry on flying
#2421
looks very similar to other pics,at least there consistant in comming apart and easy to fix, i think they call it "landing block crock"[&:] just use lots of 30 min epoxy, that will help

Hey V_twin,
I used some left over push-rod through some holes I drilled from the wing saddle side. Roughed them up with some sand paper ,rolled them in epoxy ,& pushed them in. Epoxy the heck out of it in the fuel compartment and should hold up fine.
Hey Raideron,
Just send that prop on over to Barry so he can sew it together for ya !! No need to waist a good prop.
Guys, I took the time to look it up in the Websters Hong-guol dictionary I picked up in Korea:
wing wong is when the wing is attached to the A/C wong
wing wack is what Raideron did with his profile
wing wok is what my UCD does when I try to harrier
wing warf is what Gjeffers has
Well went out today and got a couple more flights in on the UCD. Just a slight breeze out of the W.. Hovers are still 40 feet up and only about 10-20 seconds, but feeling more solid. Did some invert spins to upright spins, that looks pretty cool. Still working on the high alpha harriers, just can't seem to get into a groove. The 635's are doing great in the wings, probably have to upgrade to those thru-out soon, I need to go to the heim joints soon as well. All in all a great day, planes in one piece, and some learning curve done.
See ya guys, SPUD37's out...........
