E-FLIGHT BLADE CP
#3751
I think I'll throw my HS56's on mine and see if it still does it. That is after I get a new tail rotor. My granddaughter sat on my tail yesterday and broke my last blade. Luckily that's all she broke. I do have a prop adapter I can use, but only have 4-4.3 props for it and really prefer the smaller push-ons.

Hey all, having a slight issue. When throttling up, it gets light on the skids and then all of a suddon the CP will jump up about three or four inches. Anyone have a clue on why this is? Just curious.

The helis( 47's,53's Huey's) i flew in back in the 70's all leaked tons fluid. as for your heli jumping up
I would say it might be that your collictive is kicking in. Try unpluging your motors (both)
and arm the 4in1 and move your throttle trim to full up position. Then raise your throttle stick and some where above half way you should see the swash plate being pulled down. it should be smooooth
movement. If it sticks or is hard to move it would cause your heli to jump as it (collictive) kicks in.
Hope that helps. "Semper Fi" Brother

Sorry about your bird. I checked mine this morning and it centered fine. I topped off the batt. and
it still centered ??? I may try it latter when it is not as hot out. I did email horrizon about the 4in1,
so we'll see.

marineatbn,
Things could be sticky as mentioned by dignlivn, try using a light oil, like 3-in-1 or sewing machine oil. Lube the swash plate and the blade grips..
Make sure the blade grips are very smooth in operation. They can cause headaches.
If it moves, lube it.

Probably already been posted but there is a list of "fixes" [link]http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Bulletin.aspx?ProdId=EFLH1100[/link]
Glad to see some old guys like me playing...
Mine did that had to rev it up a little more than average then it would jump 3 feet into the air then act fine... Mine was the center huba nd rotor head not being as smooth as they could... they were binding ever so slightly... the link above has fix but rather than the 15/32 drill bit I used a dremel tool to "polish" the hub and rotor assy. I also coated with silicone grease and it works like a charm now.
But there are about 6 things that can casue that... see the link

Good link. In my case, I found my coller was not far enough down on the shaft. As soon as a little lift happened, it would lift the whole shaft a mm or two, causing a large collective until I brought it down.
As for lube, I got some penetrating silicone lubricant from the electrical isle at Home Depot. It works wonders. The spin down takes forever now, because everything is so smooth.
Interesting about the blade grips. I'll try that and see what it does.

Lube Job:
Guys,
It really does make a differenct, a Blade CP or CX or T-Rex. I even use a light coat of lube on the main gear and tail rotor gear.
You'll notice right away the difference in the sound of the heli, much quieter.

I have a synthetic lubricant a friend of mine gave me. He uses it to lube the chain gun's on the Cobra's. Do you think that would suffice?
And to you DignLivn, Semper Fidelis to you as well brother. 10 year grunt and still gettin some.

Thank you, I am with the Anti-Terrorism Battalion, but got snagged for recruiting duty so I will be leaving J-Ville soon.
As far as the synthetic lube I have, it was designed for military weapons that are going to Iraq, little bit different than good ole CLP, it doesn't let dirt and such stick to it.

you can even tell him i said so. He flies planes, but I'm trying to get him into heli's. I use RC motor lube now, but the synth lube sounds very interesting. Grandkids are staying with us for a few weeks so he owes me

k thx is there any other lube or oil work?

I bought some of those WD-40 pens. These are not the aerosol spray, but rather it is sort of like a magic marker, but instead of ink, you get oil. It works pretty well, but can attract dirt. I also use a good electronic's spray cleaner that is safe on plastic, and leaves 0 residue. I got it a Fry's Electronics. I use the spray to clean the important parts regularly, then hit them with the WD-40 pen. How often I do this depends upon the flying conditions. If it's mostly inside flying, I have to do it a little less often due to less exposure to dirt.
I've done this with my little Lama 2 heli for about 1 year now with no problems. I can't tell you how many flights is has on it, but it is A LOT, and it still has all original bearings, gears, blade grips, etc, and they are still going strong.

You have to align your blades (or track them as it's called). You want zero pitch (both level to the swash) at zero throttle. Check out bladecprepair.com for specific how-to's.

I've been reading these posts and tried the fix for sticky collective. When I was done I noticed more of a sticky problem then I had before. After checking the CP I noticed that there is a ton of play in the blade grips from side to side (Outward / inward) is this normal? how much play should there be with the blade grips to the center shaft? also why do I have more sticky after the mod? any help is greatly appriciated
Thank You,
Thank You,
