See, helis are better. He could have yawed 90 sideways and _rolled_ out of the dive with a helicopter....then found some other new way to crash.

Hey doc
It never entered my mind till you brung it up.
So don't worry about it. I hate eggnog and fruit cakes
btw, lol. I'm like zooland1, been hanging around here
for a year or more and have to agree with zoo. Oh
yeah, he probably does have box of spare parts, but
he ain't selling them. loL
Zooland1
Hope your son in law has Better Luck on this plane .
btw, The wife got me a Pro for Christmas ( I had to order it)
so i'll have 2 birds to feed come next week. I have finally
learned to hover my Stock CP (that was my goal ) here in
the last couple of Months. Now I can think about some
upgraded parts (Tx,etc).

After owning my CP for 14 months now, I too have
a box of used parts. Sad thing is,I have kept all the
card board part s ,that the bags of parts came in.
I could total them up dollar wise but that would scare
some people out of the hobby. lol So Zoo, did find
a 25 ft. blank wall for your sim yet?

I thought about keeping the bags with the prices... but that got too scary..
I've built up a complete CP just from the parts I had to buy to keep one of them flying.

Mee too, ditto, I have a bag of the tags, can't bear to look at it.
The spare-parts stocker is 90 percent complete, I have everything even a brand-new 3-in-1, will use the stock tx/rx since i'm using the DX6 in the blingy thingy.
It's cold and raining and windy, but I'm still flying--working on perfecting the 6-foot diameter vertical circle, going both ways, and perpetual orientation practice and slow piros. When the BCPP batts are charging I fly the CXs.
Try that in your living room with a TRex!
The little vertical circles are especially difficult since they are both in and out of ground effect and involve brief moments of FF and BF as well as transitions. Still working up to landing on the ceiling.

LOL - this thread scares me.
After the first 180 pages or so, I went and bought my own.
I have flown lots of planes before, and always seemed to put them down at full throttle straight in.
Quite an amazing display.
I, at one point, had a .30 size heli... hehehe.
One flight, half a tank.
I hovered it pretty good and was doing short hops with it. Got a little high once, screwed up - tried to fix it like an airplane - you know, full throttle, pull back on right stick.
oops.
THAT was a pretty sweet show - parts 30' in the air in all directions.
Now I just picked up the CP Pro (I figured, what the heck, has the lipos). 2 packs later and I can almost hover the thing in my garage. I did, however, go through 2 sets of blades that quickly... LOL
Still having fun tho!!! I bought a couple extra sets of blades for the long weekend, so let's see how bad I can crash it now!

That's the way Brad!
Go get em.
I met a guy in the LHS the other day who makes his own blades for the BCP--flatties, he uses balsa stock, a planer, a bandsaw and a sanding block, the plastic bits from some old blades, and just leaves them uncovered. Must cost about a nickel apiece, and can't be any worse than EFlite flatties. Wouldn't be much harder to make symms...

Hi guys,
Almost have enough parts to build one, Hmmm, I think a tail boom would do it.
Man this hobby is expensive.
See picture, and that's all for the CP and Pro, I have other boxes full of wonderful stuff for the CX2, T-Rex, G2 and Falcon.

The biggest enemy...OBSTRUCTIONS.
The biggest enemy...OBSTRUCTIONS.
Who ever heard of an airplane doing that?
In fact, it will hit just about anything, except of course that blue square on my floor....I've even tried to sneak up on it, deliberately trying to land to one side of it, the heli knows, it can't be fooled, there is no way it is ever going to land in that square...

Golly, heli_Rod, you are better stocked than at least one of the LHSs around here...how are your prices, I may need to order some stuff
I take mine out of the bags right away, it seems to hurt less that way...

After I crashed into the chain link fence, I got a new yellow canopy. No way I'm risking that! So I took it off, put it on the floor next to me while I flew the thing bare-chested. Sure enough, it unerringly slid over and whacked the brand new canopy with two blade strikes. WHA WHAP!
Instantly shattered the brand new never-flown canopy that wasn't even on the helicopter.
It knows, I'm telling you.
Winter stockup? How about weekend stockup...[:@]

rofl man thats some bad luck. Yeh i understand how it feels to mess up something you just got. Few weeks back i got brand new cf blades. Went flying the next day and plowed the cp into the concrete during fff. At least one survived and ill have a spare cf blade.

That's pretty much the usual. Actually I'm down a little on parts. My son thumped his recently and needed some parts. I think I borrowed the extra servos I had to put in my twin engine airplane project I'm working on as throttle servos......I'm getting low on parts..I better get them ordered!

Jellyson,
Where did you purchase all that cool looking blue stuff, grips and head thingy..? Oh, question, does the rotor head fit the stock main shaft or is there any mods to make? I got my X-mas bonus today at work, WOW, gonna bling out some helis this winter... Free Money.
Take care guy,

That's the MicroHeli head, the LHS had two in stock, blue or silver. No shaft mod needed, it's held on with two tiny little bitty weeee setscrews that take a 0.7 mm allen key (included, whew!) and screw up to the shaft just where the hole is. At first they were working loose every flight even with Tamiya threadlocker but they seem to have found their groove and are staying tight now. WHen they finally give up I'm going to have to come up with a better system--hence the box of paper clips.
No head button included, I made that one on the lathe, colored it with a blue Sharpie.
Note that the Bell-Hiller mixers are on the flybar control frame instead of the blade grips. It included a swashplate, but I actually think the EFlite aluminum swashplate might be better. Not enough data yet but the main bearing in the EFlite one is definitely smoother. The MH links were all very loose though, it looks like someone got really enthusiastic with the sizing tool.
It's a good product, works well, but pricey. Perhaps you might like to compare these parts, (the MH set is at the bottom of the pages):

Jellyson,
Holy cow, Murphy's law, sounds like at that time, if you didn't have bad luck you would have any at all. Tuff brake. I remember several times putting on a new set of blades...... that lasted almost 30 seconds. Like you say, WHA WHAP!

I make mine from 1/8"x3/8"x36" Spruce, for the leading edge, 1/8"x1"x36" hard balsa for the trailing edge, and a 1/32"x5/8" x36" cap over the joint to bring the sandwich to full depth.
Roughshaped with a sanding block, and sanded to contour with a molded (Bondo) sandpaper block.
Get 3 blades per 36" piece... works out to 65 cents each.
The blade holders come from broken blades.
