E-FLIGHT BLADE CP

skymortar-just so you don't feel neglected. Do you have a sim to practice on. It may be another expense, but if you crash, you just reset and try again. Other than that just practice. The key is helicopters are very sensitive to input. It takes very little to correct a move. And I mean very little. Other than a few seconds at a time you will constantly be making minor moves. Don't get frustrated, we've all been there. After a while it just clicks. This is my third bird and it's the only one I can actually control. Hope this helps a little. If we were all so talented we flew perfect we wouldn't be in these forums in the first place. We'd be flying all the time instead of waiting for parts.

I've got a 7C so the crystal is right on top. I'm pretty sure the 9C has a replaceable crystal from things I've read. Because they talk about changing crystals in the modules. I think I was accused of being wrong once, maybe this could be a second. LOL

OK, you gotta quit typing the same time I do. Glad it's working. You're sure, right?
And yes it's actually pretty easy to crack a crystal, especially if what it's in gets dropped. From say.... thirty feet up. They are... after all....."crystal" (glass)

Yup it works fine. there is a small metal cover over the spot on the module (you take the 2 screws out of the back and remove the cover to get easy access in the future)
So you can tell whoever you would like.. the Futaba T9CHP has the ability to change crystals without having to by a new module.

Does anyone know where to get a freespooling main gear for the blade? My brushless ESC has a motor brake and when I cut the throttle after landing the motor stop suddenly making the blades slap around to one side spinning the heli around. I have to wait for the blades to slow way down before I cut the throttle off. I seen somewhere that someone had this on there CP but did not say where to get it.

redman,
Can't you program the brake off? What kind of ESC is it?
Also here is posting about freewheel on another board you might want to check out:

futura,
I got real tired of replacing the main gear because the shaft was bent. I went to the Century main gear that has a replaceable shaft. So now if I do have a bent shaft I only need to drop it out the bottom without taking apart the whole heli. Now as far as the main shaft is concerned I ordered extras and I removed straight shafts from originals that the gears were stripped. So I have several now. The Century shafts are stronger than the original, I don't know why but I haven't bent one after the conversion.
Here are the sites where you will find the parts.

http://www.heli-world.com/Merchant2/...=parts-hb3dpro
If you use the main gear (and I recommend you do to give your motor pinion more to grip to) you will need to file down to 1mm the collar on the top of the main gear so it will fit tight to the bottom bearing. You will have to readjust the servo connections to readjust to the taller shaft. Here are some pictures showing the main gear and shafts.

Has anybody installed the "Head Dampening Shims?"
Does it make a difference? I'm still running the 2BB grips and stock head.... any advice would be appreciated!
Also, you think the entire Bell/Hiller head upgrade is the way to go or just the Bell/Mixer pushrod set?
Thanks!

The stock bell-hiller head for the HB CP2 is supposed to fit the BCP fine. It's made of plastic, so it's only about $20. Every site I've found that sells it is out of stock right now (except one in hong Kong that wanted $23 shipping). Heli-hobby has the best price so that's the one I've been watching. Bdavison said the BCP becomes an entirely different machine with bell-hiller.
This is the first I've heard of "head dampening shims" and I've still got the 2bb grips, just switched the washers and it seems to be fine for me.
By the way, heli-direct got a new shipment of their 1300 mah 3s lipos in for $19.99. 7C so they should be fine for the blade. I'll find out, orders on the way.

For me 2 shims on each side made quite a difference. The heli went from a loose feeling in hover to quite tight. I'd say definitally worth the $2
They go between the o-ring and the stepped metal washer against the inside BB on the blade grip.
I also lubed up all moving parts with 30 weight RC Car Shock Oil. It's pure silicon oil and works amazing.
I'm using the 2bb grips as well. My heli is smooth as silk.

In regards to the stepped part of the washer, do you have the stepped part towards the rubber bushing or the stepped face away from the bushing?
Thanks,
again....

Put the stepped part against the ball bearing.
After breaking my frame I recently did a full rebuild of my Blade and I put the head shims in. I ended up using the entire package - 3 shims on each side. It definately makes the head a bit stiffer. The shims totally eliminated any latteral play in the blade grips. Like L0stS0ul said, totally worth the $2.

I have a blade CP, and after breaking two vertical tail supports, I am looking for a better way to protect my tail rotor than the wimpy toothpick that is stock on the CP. Can anybody recommend a carbon fiber or plastic tail fin kit that will work with the Blade CP?
Thanks....

The GWS Direct drive tail upgrade has a nice vertical tail fin. I stengthened mine with 2mm CF rod down the back edge cause some folks were breaking them too. I've banged it pretty hard a number of times and its never broke on my......yet!

OK Guys:
Thought I was pretty bright, but can't get to the root---
What does "CNC" stand for?? is it a Company, a type of manufacturing process or what.

I just found out about the blade cp a few weeks ago and really want to get one, but seems that just everywhere I look they're on backorder or "temporarily out of stock". Are they THAT popular or does anybody know of trouble with the manufacturer? Would be nice to find a supplier in CANADA with some in stock - nudge nudge.

Used for the manufacturing process of machined parts based on a CAD (computer Aided Drawing) program.
