ACF, I wouldn't necessarely count too much on a new plug as there could be an issue with the reed valve. The standard plug is crap but it is usable for a while, at least. If the engine starts and quits after a few seconds, it is, most likely, a problem with the fuel supply. If the carb is O.K., then there is only one other component, that could be the culprid: the reed valve.
My advice and comments are based on recent experiences with this engine and the CDI module, never seen a single DL with a reed problem right out of the box. If it had one I would think it would have a hard time getting fuel to the carb, doesn't seem like the case here based on the ACF's description.

I used the model lube http://www.klotzlube.com/proddetail....0%5FPint&cat=8
in my D+B 3.7 twin for aprox. 10 years mixed at 50:1, never a problem, never changed plugs,
7500rpm on a bolly 21X12, aprox. 50 gals., crashed airplane several months ago and bent[]
crankshaft, took apart to inspect, engine LN inside.

I just switched to Stihl Ultra synthetic because I can get local. Klots I had to order, so far 4 gal in
my 7yr old 3W75, runs great!!

OK so what is it gonna be H1R, Stihl or Klotz? I don't mind ordering online. My local Stihl dealers don't carry Stihl oil anyway.

If you are going for smell go for the Lou Anna Super Buttery Topping we get by the gallon for popcorn from our machine. Its probably a good oil to run, and nothing is better than burned coconut oil. Also for fun you guys could do Buttery Shooters at the field and see who clots up first. Its fun!!!

I still use the Klotz Model lube oil. Have used it for 3 years in both my DL and DA 50 engines. On the subject of plugs, most NAPA parts store either carry the NGK CM6 or can get them in 24 hours. Plus the price is right.

I got the plug from O`Reilly`s auto parts for about $3.25. Napa had it for $6.00. Both had to get it next day.

I wouldn't be too concerned about the price. If you have the engine tuned close to right it will last a couple or three years. Most would spend 5 times that in one season of glow plugs.

I am just getting into my second gallon of gas in my DL50. I am using non oxygenated gas, with Pennzol Air Cooled oil at 32:1, NGK CM-6, and Vess 22A prop.
My engine has pretty good throttle response. It probably lags less than 1/2 second when the throttle is opened quickly. When I chop the throttle, it will either kill or go to a lower idle speed than it would normally idle at. If I close the throttle slower the engine will go back to the normal idle rate. What causes this and how can I tune it out?
The high end seems to be good.

You're still off on the low needle a little bit.

Yes, your low needle is a little lean, richen it an 1/8 turn and try again.

It is the best you can buy! After break in, switch to AMSOIL.

Too lean low and your engine is overheating after a full throttle run. that causes it to die on idle. Like others recommended, richen your LS. 1/8 turn out will prob right on the spot. Then let the engine run 10-20 seconds full throttle and if you notice a decline in rpm, open your HS 1/16 of a turn.

hey mstam thats a very good way to mess up your catylitic converter in your car,,,that  2 stroke oil will clog it up  especially that its being sent straight to your exhaust,,before you go driving,,you might want to siphon your tank.and put straight gas in there,,,how do i know??? its too embarrasing to tell.....

2oz of oil on 10 gallons is really not gonna hurt anything I always dump gas leftovers in my car if it's older than 2 months. My Volvo LOVES it

Wiat until you have 100 gallons through the engine using Amsoil. Rather presumptuous to think it might make it that far with that product though.... I suppose as long as you run an engine rich and cold you might have a chance, but no other way is possible with that stuff.
