I know Barry is at the factory at this time. Not sure if any F model K80's will be at Florida.
I know there will be some E models flying for sure.

As far as the flightworks pump it's more efficient and has a little more push than the factory one.
As for the valves they are still using the standards from Kingtech.

I have the standard valves with flightworks pump on my 170 and It runs like a charm every time.

If you are looking for the latest kero start version, contact Barry when he returns I'n a week or send him an email

Take care and happy flying.

I was hoping for a show special!!!!! I'm ready to get one and was wondering if the kero start version was going to make a debut at Florida Jets. I know there's a E version for sale in the classifieds but it doesn't have the flightworks pump etc and is pretty close to the full price... If there was a Show Special I'd probably pick one up!!!!

I'm tore between the K80 E and waiting for the K80 F. Of course the E is propane start and would be cool to try the amt smoke method (pressurizing the smoke tank off of the propane side). Of course with the kero start, no more propane!!!! Are there any more advantages of the kero start???

Hey Andy,
I am just about to start my K80E and look forward to your help as well. This is the 1st Turbine in New Delhi, India and I am at a loss for any help.
The K80E is mounted on a Feibao Velox and has stock pump/ valves etc. The whole set was pre-owned but done only 3 flights. The ECU shows 113 min. running.
I have accomplished the following so far:

- All Plumbing checked in the tank and UAT.
- The HDT connected to the ECU and ECU powered by a 2S Lipo
- Futaba 6014 Rx connected to the ECU on Ch. 3 and linked to a 10C Tx. Throttle reversed on the Tx.
- ECU and Tx calibrated - stick up trim up. stick down trim up and both down.
- using test menu I have checked all the elements of the engine.
- Jet 1A ATF with 5% turbine oil mixed and ready.

Questions:

- Are the parameters mentioned in the manual Ok ?
- I have reduced the Plug parameter from 40 to 30 after reading on the forum here.
- The pump Pw parameter is entered as 500 instead of the 1020 as mentioned in the manual. It is possible that this was changed by the original owner after running the engine few times.

I will wait for your reply before I start the engine. Please mention any safe guards i need to check before starting.

Guys thank you for the tips offered on this forum...specially Barry..
I learnt a lot and could muster up the courage to start my k80e today, only 'coz of this forum. I have had the engine since October last year!!
The first spool up was a bogie and the HDT informed "weak gas".
The 2nd start was perfect.....idle 45000 and wot 145000.

Now fr some newbie q's...
Since Iam the 2nd owner of this turbine...do I get warranty ? And where can I find the serial no ?
The turbine has done only 113 min. As per the terminal.

PS: I just checked from the person, I bought the jet with the turbine - he is actually a dealer for Kingtech and so I am not really a 2nd owner !! He says he will register me with the company as the owner. Feels good......

Sandy

The serial number should be stamped or etched on to the tail cone flange that bolts to the Engine.

As far as a warranty, You will have to contact Barry and talk to him.

My finger was poised over the Enter key ready toorder my K80e when I decided to wait for the new K80f to be released. Does anyone have any more information on the availability of the K80f and what the increase in price will be? I noticed that Ausjets in Australia is showing them as available (www.ausjets.com/kingtech-turbines/kingtech-k80e-turbine.html).

Hi Sandy, yes, that is the serial number. Please send me an email if you like instructions to instate your warranty, either way, you are going to enjoy your K-80 very well.

Regards,
Barry

Hi JB, if you haven't already done so, go ahead and command that finger on my site for a K-80E and I'll adjust the order to a brand new K-80F. All K-80s are back ordered from the factory, but if you ordered through our site, you will be bumped to the very top of that list.

Good Luck,
Barry

Thanx very much Barry. My details are already with Mr. Chuang now - sent by Capt. Frank - and the warranty instated. If you are still in Taiwan, kindly confirm the same for me please.

Indeed I am going to enjoy this Turbine. I am in Germany nex month fr th rookie meeting organised by the Jetpower guys and hope to pick up the the skill for flying model jets. I have a feibao Velox to start with.
