Just had this video sent to me from a friend. It is a Reaction 54 with a Kingtech. Good combo for starting into jets.

Big difference.. The K-80 has more power By a couple pounds and the throttle response time is much faster than the P70.
The K-80 also has a lifetime warranty.
You can also run it on diesel and 3% oil so it is cheaper to run.
The P70 is a solid turbine, just old technology.
I think You would be very pleased with a K80

I took my K80 in to have Barry check out the problems I was having and he had it diagnosed in about an hour, turns out the ecu was bad and he replaced it right on the spot! Barry is a great guy to deal with and put forth every effort to get my engine running properly, my engine runs perfectly now and I can't wait to get it in a jet now. Thanks again Barry for the great help and support! Regards Justin Link.

Okay guys, especially Todd and Barry. Got the unit set up for test, K80 e. Ready for the first start, step one - tx learn. well ecu wont learn anything. When trying to go through the tx setup proceedure, I cant get the fadec to recognize any throttle position.
By going into the second screen menu the signal reads 0000u and 100%. You know whats going to happen when it starts at this setting?
Checked out the radio. futaba 10c, checked both normal and reverse servo direction , and also plugged in a servo to the throttle port.
transmitter also works with all my other rx's and planes. Bad ECU? Bad Luck? Let me hear something good.
If you have the connections installed into the turbine and all leads plugged in the unit will attemp to start directly after you just cycle the screens in the tx learn menu. Consequently, If you dont have throttle channel control you cant stop the startup procedure.<br type="_moz" />

Hi Jeff, I assume you mean the male to male from the ecu to the rx?
If so yes i did and I cant get any signal to transmit but the hdt will power up when the rx lead is plugged in so it must be getting power but not signal.
Seriously aggravating.

Guys, Jeff is right. I'm currently at the factory in Taiwan working on engines and get to know our new 300kg fully computerized balancing machine that's going to be shipped back to the states.
Justin, please give Todd a call or write me an email with you phone number and let me know the best time to troubleshoot.
Spence, the 140s are coming along great. They are to be shipped out next week, and I will have them in stock in Cailfornia.
Cheers,
Barry

Not a problem Barry, I have young children so anytime the sun is up is a good time to troubleshoot. by the way I think I have one of the faulty fuel pumps.
The wiring and tx issue solved i began the start sequence. fired up smoothly and ran very strongly.
Within 60 seconds the rpm was settled into a good 43000 rpm idle and then i ramped her up to the full rpm , which held for about ten seconds.
after a short time the rpm began to drop and i brought her back to idle. The idle now fluctuated between 43 and 60000.
I shut the turbine down and checked the cool down sequence. all good and i went to dinner.
After dinner I returned to restart and check everything out and this time was greeted with copious amounts of flame and anger from the exhaust..
It was enough that I allmost went for the extinguisher.
It went away very quickly and idle was regained smoothly, Within a few moments the idle became very irratic and i had a flameout.
I notices the bubbles in the line and decided that i may need to run the pump for a minute to check the flow. By performing a pump test I can tell you that the pump was getting hot and would only tricle fuel from it. It soon stopped altogether. I also checked the pump with a battery direct connect, no dice , no pump, no flow, pumped locked up.
So When i do a pump check in the menu I hear the fuel solenoid click on and off when the pump test function is activated.

Just curious what was your problem with the wiring? Mosy likely too late but loosen the screws that hold the pump to the motor 1/8 turn and see if it will run.

Talk About service! The man is in Taiwan and within 15 minutes of the last post Barry in on the horn and issue resolved.
I picked Kingtech for a reason and that reason is customer service. Things happen and its how they are handled that makes the difference between a customer and a fan.
i am a customer and a fan of Kingtech, Ultimate customer support, Thanks Barry

Problem with ecu was a broken signal wireinside the pin, a freak accident no doubt an easy fix, but the pump , not so easy.

One more thing you might want to check. With Futaba and the ECU, You need to set your throttle travel adjustment or I think Futaba calls it ATV to 125%. Relearn the transmitter and give it another start. I understand the pump issue to and Barry will make it right for you.

My k80 was acting I'm a similar manner too, it was surging from 45,000 to 60,000 and would not go full throttle, turns out it was a bad ECU but like always Barry took care of it right away and I now have a great running and very easy starting engine. DEFINETLY a fan of kingtech and barrys service

Yes, no, maybe?
No one seems to be here or at kingtech
I'm interested in the K80
What is the difference in the flightworks pump and solenoids vs the original units from kingtech?
If anyone has one NIB with the flightworks pump I'd be interested.
I noticed that it also needs to be less than a year old or there's a $150 transfer fee...
