Race it, tune it, upgrade it....get the best out of it. Even though I've got a Savage, I still love the MT2 as you can take it anywhere and can get a lot more tanks of racing out of it per gallon than you will the Savage! Better still, with the OS .18 CV-RX and an updated gearing comb, it'll pretty well match the savage in speed...thats until second gear kicks in!

I still have an original Rush and all Rush models have been discontinued and the Firestorm is taking its place. Being it seems I cannot sell if for about 1/4 I have in it I will make it a shelf queen.

Well I finally took my MT2 out today, and tuned it. Performance is excellent. It's running smooth and there's a nice amount of blue smoke coming from the exhaust, so it isn't running too lean.
It's an extremely fun car to run. I cornered it hard earlier and the right-hand-side went up in the air for a few seconds. Fantastic.
I've made sure the piston is at BDC, but I'm not really sure why this must be done. Can someone shed some light on that? Thanks.

I believe the reasoning behind moving the piston to BDC after running is because the sleeve is tapered making the piston a tighter fight at TDC. After your engine is done running and the sleeve cools down and shrinks if your piston is at TDC it could make for a difficult start for the next run. I'm sure it isn't easy on the connecting rod either.

I do not think it is that big of a deal once the engine is broke in. While breaking it in it is recommended. Some do it all the times but I have never worried about it after broke in and I have engines with many gallons run through them and still run great.

This is what I run not the best but much better then the stock composite junk that comes stock. Coarse just about anything is better then the stock one. I hope to change it to a better one some day but the one I want cost over 3 times this one. All so being you are in the UK do not know what is available.

Here's another question for you guys:
I really dislike the roto-start method of starting the car up. It's so much hassle, and it's a heavy, chunky piece of equipment.
How would you rate pull-start and if I wanted to buy one of these is there anything additional I need to adjust on the car or is it simply 'buy a pull-start, attach it to the car instead of the roto-start and bob's your uncle'.
This is the one I require, I believe...

Bibster_06, welcome to the forums!
HPI just released a new polished aluminium tuned pipe yesterday designed for the MT2; it's on the HPI Europe website. It looks like a very good pipe.

yes that is what you need for a pull start. I'm starting to dislike the roto start now as the battery always dies out on me and its to much hassle to carry around. And its good to hear you've got the car running and the most important thing is your having fun

So I'm a meant to be getting my tsais pipe tonight from my LHS. I called them up and they said they have 18boxes to unpack so he will give me a ring when he has it in his hand. What made me laugh is he called back 5Min's later and said "Ive got your clutch bell here" i go "huh". Because like 3-4months ago my clutch-bell stripped so i took it to the shop and they sent it to HPI and i bought another one. HPI have sent me one because the one i sent back was faulty
i completely forgot about it. Oh well ive got a spare clutch bell now
lets hope hes got my exhaust because its getting boring not being able to bash my mt2. i dont know what i would do with out it

I have run more pull starter then anything else matter of fact the only thing I run that is not pull starter is my Hyper 8 and I use a starter box for it. I have never used a roto starter but sure read a lot about them. With a pull starter a lot of it has to do with how well you can tune.
Yes I do believe that is the correct pull starter for the T 15.

Just check out HPI new pipe that fits the MT and it looks pretty good. They do not have them in stock at Tower Hobby yet but they have them listed and the price will be around $34 US.

It's cool that the car gets a lot of attention from people when I'm using it in public. I think a lot of people see RC cars as mostly being sluggish, electric toys, yet when they see a fuel car roaring away they look pretty impressed.
I'm amazed that such a little thing can produce so much power. I showed my mate the car today and he was impressed by how fast it goes. Plus, at the moment the car has all basic parts, so I'm looking forward to improving the car as time goes by.
I've already purchased the heavy-duty differential gears in preparation for the eventual demise of the standard ones. As I'm running the car I can hear a definite clicking noise. I'm sure it's coming from the differentials. Can anyone shed some light?

Check...put the car on a stand make sure the brake is not dragging push the 2back wheels forward & backward. if the front wheels spin as well then your diffs are fine, you can check it the other way aswel. I had a clicking noise on mine it was actually the brake. its nothing to worry about just get out there and have fun! and remember what i told you about starting it (heat it up first with the glowplug ect) it really does make a difference. and yes i totally agree with how you get alot of attention when using it in public, yet if it was an electric RC no-one would really take any notice. must be the roar of the lil badboy

Fun indeed. Frustrating also. Starting the damn thing is a pain but once it's running it's worth the hassle.

does anyone know if you can put MT2 SS diffs in to a MT1 Racer?
does anyone know if you can put MT2 SS diffs in to a MT1 Racer?
I found I only needed to put the SS diffs in my MT2 after I installed an upgraded engine...only 1 tank on the dirt and the stock ones were destroyed!
However, if you are still running the RTR w/T-15 or 15FE, I would recommend perhaps waiting until the stock ones go before upgrading. However if you put in a larger powerplant, then yes, you'll definately need the 18SS diffs!
