Cool, I just have seen some kits that come set up for a bumpbox and you have to change the mounts if you want to use a rotostart or pullstart. My losi 8ight was like that.

i just finished building a pro kit..... very nice truck! i put a modded 528xr in it and its ballistic.. its kinda in between twitchy and stable, pretty much one of the best driving trugs ive wheeled.
ive got vid from sunday on our track but the file is huge... ill upload it to google and post it.

Anything I should know about these truggies as I put it together and before I run it like things to check for or certain tweaks to do, or occuring problems they have that can be fixed before it happens to me? This is going to be my first one that I have to build, I have always bought rtr's in the past. Can't wait!!

I love the white! never liked it on other truggies but for some reason it looks awesome on the hyper. Hate to copy but I might paint mine white too. Doesn't the saying go that copying is the sincerest form of flattery?! lol

Here's some info about the Spider Diff, taken from the Hyper 8.5 thread:
after checking other forums and talking with Rob from Nitrohouse here is what I have been told. The spiders are for high grip surfaces, mostly European tracks. They have less diff action then standard diffs therfore you need to use lower wt.diff fluid. With extra gears they have more natural friction and when used in the center will drive the rear harder. This make sense because the higher the diff fluid in the center the more you drive the the rear. You need to use about half the diff wt i.e. if you usually use 5k fluid standard with spiders use 2-3K. With a center spider diff I am thinking the correct set-up maybe 3kF 2kc 2kR!!

I am actually enjoying building it for my first kit. Next pics posted should be of it finished. Anybody have any ideas for the body? I am thinking of white like the ones I say here but not sure. If you guys interested in one want any pics of anything that you cannot see anywhere let me know and I will try and take them

I like the look of solid red on the Hyper 8/.5 bodies. I don't know how it would look on these.

I had another successful weekend of racing with the Hyper ST Pro. The truck turns on a dime and handles the rough stuff very well. I switched to a 13t clutch bell to give me a little more torque. Our track is big, but is has a lot of jumps coming out of tight turns with little run up. I had only a few minor problems. I did not put loc-tite on my wing mount screws and on my turn buckle screw that goes into the steering knuckle. They came loose, but were fixed immediately. This truck is really solid and is an excellent racer. I am curently running 7/10/3 in my diffs. Also, I have switched my brakes to WRD2 Carbon Fiber. They have great breaking power. Here is the link.

The LRP Z.28R is a champ.

I really want to buy a Hyper ST pro.....I really wonder how it handles side by side with my Mugen... I find my Mugen to be floaty feeling and I have never quite gotten used to its characteristics...The mugen really needs to be thrown around to handle well, and i'm moe of a technical driver...From reports the ST pro is sharper handling then the 5T..... As well I am under the beleif the Hyper ST is easier to setup and dial in then the Mugen.... Apparently the Hyper Buggies were very easy to setup for newer racers..... I am good with motors, but chassis setup and handling i am pretty lost most of the time.....

Supertib,
I would go ahead and buy one and try it out. If you do not like it, sell it on ebay. They are new trucks, so people will always look for good deal on the bay. I will not say it is better or worse than Mugen or any other brand. It really depends on the driver. I really loved my TTR ST-1, but I wanted something with better steering and also I like to try different brands. The one thing I can say about the Hyper is that is rock solid as far as durability. It comes with a gang of CNC and carbon fiber parts. Go for it!!!

HI
Dude stop with the good things about the Hyper st pro I am going crazy. I am drooling because I want one so bad. I can get the hyper with a decent engine for about the same price as the 8t roller.

i also did the hyper 8 radio box mod while building it.
