what parts have you broken?

Not many but I had the misfortune of a ziptied battery pack coming loose at medium/full speed causing ST to go straight into a tree ripping off the front arm and breaking the knuckle. Upgraded to Hyper 8 battery box after that.
Other items are minor, broken rear wing mount, broken front hub carrier. Cheap replacement parts take the sting out of it.

The built in fail safe on my Nomadio React saved the life of my Hyper ST today. I was on the street testing out a dynamite 053 pipe at full throttle and my receiver packs goes dead. My truck was going full wood into oncoming traffic. Luckily, the failsafe kicked in and the truck slowed down so the incoming car could avoid "killing" my Hyper. It was all my fault. I new my battery pack was really low, but I ran my truck anyway. Thank God for the Nomadio React. It is an awesome radio.

Hey Jaywax, I see you are in Austin TX, i'm in the McAllen Area. Do you race at the N Control track? I know the final Summer Sizzler is going to be there this coming wekeend and probably I will be racing my Hyper 8.5, also trying to get my dad and uncle to go too so they race their Hyper ST's and let the Hyper Revolution begin!

hey gil millan1, there is a track in Harlingen which is my home track.

you should visit [link=http://rcfiles.com/forums/index.php?]RC Files Forum[/link] and join the forum, there is a dedicated forum for each track in Texas, i'm sure there is one near you.

Yes, I race at N-control. I live about five minutes from the track. I will be there this weekend. I have already started the smack talk on rcfiles.com

Do the wheels come pre-glued?? I don't care for the white, so if not I would dye them...

How can you dye them? I'd rather have black or gray wheels. I think you get much more freedom with the paint scheme if the rims are not white.

I'm afraid they flake very easily when painted.

Thanks.. Gonna dye 'em black then......

Cuz...

Hyper ST Pro is on the way!!...

Gonna have some tough decisions now.. Four trucks is too much, but I love each of the other three... Gotta think about servos too - gonna go cheap for the Hyper I think - Bluebirds..

Anybody have success with Bluebird servos in their race truggies - or does it HAVE TO be Ace or Hitec????

I can get the BB 661 I think - 14kg at .15 or so.. for €40.. - less than half the price of the Ace DS1015 or Hitec 5955.. But beind that in all likelihood I won't even be running this thing til spring, I could wait and save up for some good ones over the winter...(but I WOULD like to be able to play with it over the winter.. I COULD put the Hitec 5955 from the Muggy in, and put the Bluebird in it..)

I'm gonna be taking the kit with me on a business trip next week (in a hotel in the middle of nowhere for a week..)

What will I need besides tools and threadlock?? Is the right diff-oil included - same question with shock oil??

Thanks.. At work now, will read up more later now the decision has been made...

i tried blue birds a few times... they suck. i used one for steering and it made my throttle servo twitch? then the gears stripped out.. so blue bird sent me new gears, they stripped again in a couple tanks. i threw em away..

I've had so-so experience with them so far - a 620 and a 630 have blown on me.. The other 620 is doing throttle-brake duty in the LST2..

I may just have to gut the Muggy for the winter..

Anyway, shock and diff oil??

Also, I - believe it or not - am not ALL that taken with the body... Have you guys heard of the Symbio body - for use on the Mugen or CRT?? It says it also works on the long-version Mantis, so I don't know what to make of that as to whether it would fit on the Hyper... So basically, will a body made for a Mugen fit the Hyper??

Thanks..

Where did you hear of a long version mantis? I have one and have wanted a extended chassis for it but cannot find one.

I put the same in my diffs and it works great. I put 60wt in my shocks. I agree, do not put the stuff that comes with it. Remember to take you center diff apart if you have the one that comes with the spider diff and fill it with lube. It hardly has no grease at all in it.

I currently have 10(over a year old never openend..) and 3.. So should I go get some 7 then?? I really have no idea about diff oil.. I just want a very basic set-up.. I'm not going to be the type to mess with and experiement with diff oil for different surfaces, etc.., so I just want a basic 7-10-3 or whatever a good all-round mix is..

Wouldnt you run somthing more like 3-10-7 so that you have more controll on take off, or does it work the other way-round??

I don't know to be honest... I'll figure that out later.. Right now though I just need to order the 7000 wt stuff I guess, since I already have 10 and 3.. I know that's what people have recommended for the Muggy... So I guess, cuz I have to order soon, I'll just order some 7000 and live with 3--10-7 or 7-10-3 or whatever it is..

I'm using 10-10-1 for my truggy, using it on a carpet track. but just recently raced the state titles with the same settings and came 4th, not bad for my first time on dirt. truggy was straight out of the box too. first mod was the radio box, changed to 8.5. using 1.4 pistons with 25wt AE oil. this truggy didn't come with spider diffs tho. will be using the OS 28ZX but at the moment using werks 3port .21 and OS .21 v-spec. i do think the truggy does suffer abit on the steering side tho, understeers alot. need more time with settings. one mod you can do is change the front hubs with hyper 8 or 8.5- you will need a 3mm or 1/8" think spacer for the top arm but least you have adjustable castors.

Are you saying the diff oil is crap or just the wrong weight? Same with the shock oil?

Also Ive read that a .21 engine is better than a .28 for racing, why is that? Will all .21 engines fit the hyper st pro? or is there a guage or something?

Stupid noob questions I know, at least I can ask them anonymously!
