Shop eBay. 35 kg servos put out 486 oz. in. of torque with metal gears and are waterproof. These are what a lot of crawler trucks are using and you might not believe how cheap they are!

There is no official sanctioning body that includes EDF and turbine propelled boats, not even airboats. Speeds would have to be recorded with official equipment, not just a GPS dropped into it.

Gas boats won't become obsolete but nitro is dying a slow death. Pro Boat is never my first choice for any boat but that's me.
Initially gas was more expensive but the prices are dropping quickly....

That's a Sullivan connector, the spring holds part of the cupped area held into the cup. Just pull it back and it unhooks from the ball, a fast way to do it. The usually ball and cup fittings work...
