RE: Mayr video

Not exactly.
I want to see his unique flying style in order to compare his flying to the other top pilots.
Seeing him flying his new toxylen would be great though! Two birds with one stone! :D

RE: CA Models VISA

Just to let all know and clarify that:

My words "It didn't work for us" does not mean that we have cooling issues. We just replaced the modified "cooling fan" style spinner with an ordinary Tru...

RE: CA Models VISA

Believe me this backplate idea does not work. We tried it a couple years ago and it didn't work at all.
I used to work for a major military electronics company for about 12 years as a design...

RE: YS 170CDI mount

No, CARF Integral does not have rails in the nose, neither a firewall. You have to make your own mounts. Check the below link, Ivan Kristensen posted the pictures of how he did the rail mount for YS...

RE: Glow vs. Electric. Let the discussion begin.

That is quite understandable. My words are for a technical comparison not for personal choices. At the end, this is a hobby and enthusiasts are free to choose what they want. When it comes to compete...

RE: Glow vs. Electric. Let the discussion begin.

Ok, back to the glow vs. electric discussion.

It seems to me, it is always the glow guys who are against electric. There exist almost no electric guy (with a few exception) who is not happy with...

RE: Ventura- new Quique Somenzini design

It is not (mainly) the "fold" ability that makes this propeller set-up good. The blades are very light and aerodynamically more efficient. Gives you lots of power with less current usage and the low...

RE: Ventura- new Quique Somenzini design

Quique's spinner is a standard Tru Turn blue anodized spinner having special cutouts to accomodate a prop hub for Rasa folding propeller blades. That is the exact set-up that Chad Northeast designed...

RE: Modification on flight time

Exactly, the time spent for starting eats your flying time and if you can not manage to take off within 3 minutes you are out!

Say, if you struggle 2 minutes in starting your engine and take off,...

RE: Modification on flight time

And for the size of the packs:

I use 3500 mah to 4000 in one flight of P09 depending how strong the wind is. Considering you leave 20% reserve capacity for safety you will need 5000 mah batteries....
