As of last summer a friend and I were able to order replacement struts from Horizon through a LHS. Afraid I don't know the part number though. I saw some on e-bay at the time too.

Thanks. I was about 7 1/16 with three of the plywood spacers. I am probably going to go with a fourth spacer to put it about 7 3/16.

I used to fly 1/12 scale Corsairs in RC combat and even they did it. I think its a scale feature ;) because I have read that the full size F-4U did it as well.
