Hi. I have some problems whith the u- can do 60. The engine(Magnum 90 two stroke) is flooded. The tank is so much higher than the carb when mounted inverted. Is the 46 size the same way. I just cant the engine to work upside down. I tested it and mounted it upside just to see if there where any differences. Then it run just fine.

1/3-1/2 depending on your prop. But Gjeffers is right I meant not to go full boogy in the horizontal. It would look great for a second or two, then it will look like an exploding balloon. The 91 will give you the ability to swing that big low pitch prop which will let you pull out of your hover with acceleration and unlimited vert. Have fun with it................
Hey Barry you really don't have to worry about your SFG's------------just sew them if you break them[&:][&:][&:]

Yes this can be an issue with inverted. My Magnum 70FS isn't having this problem but the OS46 2 stroke I had in it did. What I did was leave the high speed screw closed until I put the starter to it and closed it first when landed. It will also need a different setting than normal. What I found is the screw didn't need to be adjusted out as far when mounted inverted and it was still running rich as it should (not to lean). I did not move the tank as many suggest and it worked fine doing this. Only reason I changed from the 2 stroke setup was I wanted the four stroke power. I know where your at though cause it drove me crazy until I figured out the practice listed above. Once i had it out a couple of times I did talk with a couple of people who had been down the same road and amazingly they all said they did the same thing rather than altering the tank placement.

kimfrode...You could always just fly it inverted!!!! The 60 size has this problem. Sometimes if you route your carb fuel line high up in the cowl creating a loop that helps. Also a pump of some kind helps but it is a problem. Some have even cut the tunnel down and mounted the fuel tank a little lower which solves the problem. I put a YS 110 in mine the other day and it solved the problem as well because it has a pump. The 46 isn't the same way. It's fuel tank is lower and doesn't share the problem. It's problems are inverted flat spin landings.
Spud, you're right as usual. I'll just sew them back on. But they do make you nervous landing. Gotta keep that baby level. You fly for 12 minutes trying NOT to keep it level and then you have to land keeping it perfectly level. Hard.
Thanks
Barry

I agree with the others, an OS 91 and a 15X4W APC is a great combo. And like spud and gjeffers said, watch the throttle and speed.
These arn't made to go fast. I have the end result of that, and it's not pretty.
Has anyone tried a 16X4W with an OS 91? I'm curious,,,,,

I just checked on Barry's alert at Tower. True you can get a ucando for a final price of $120. But the $25 discount is for anything you want that adds up to $150. Also to get free shipping you need to join their members discount club for $15. Buying 2 or 3 uncandos won't get you another $25 discount. Anyways I did order one uncando and one membership for $15. That way I saved the $7.95 shipping charge when the order exceeds $150. So I already got half the membership cost back. Also the price of the uncando of $149 is reduced to $144.5 for club members. Minus the $25 my final price was $120 for the uncando. Give or take the fews cents. A great deal anyway you look at it. So now I have one ucando hovering and another on the way for when first one dies in a blaze of glory.

You can buy as many as you want at this price. Just order them one at a time. I'm already a member so I get the free freight. They give the free freight on the dollar amount before discounts so $149.99 qualifies and if you order on the Great Planes ARF side you don't get the special member price but you get a manufacuture's rebate. Cool. Net price $125. Delivered. Thanks

I'm thinking that what I need to do is to order another one and get it built and ready to go and then if the one I'm flying now crashes I can swap them out and just say to my wife, "what crash?" [X(] "what are you talking about?"

This is my very favorite plane. I'm ordering two, one to fly and a spare. This is a pretty low price but I did buy one of $119 one time with an extra discount. But I don't think you'll see that very often.Anyways, can't be without one of these babies.
Thanks
Barry

Also, when the UPS guy shows up I try to keep the situation less stressfull for her by saying something like "you stay safe here in the house and I'll go find out why the UPS guy showed up" It helps her out in the long run...[8D]

As an aside, I am just about done covering my U-Can-Do. To be honest I am not thrilled with it, I have never covered a plane before and I am not happy with my own lack of skills. I will still post pics when I am done if for no better reason that the Laugh Factor.

Hello SPUD here, I use the 16-4 and it works for me. I would like to try the 15-4 and see if it spools up quicker. Right now I have two spare 16-4's so I'm going to wait till I need a new prop. I mean if it aint broke don't fix it...............Hope it helps.

I don't know Triton. I've found that giving my wife too many details like "I crashed my plane and need to buy another one" is just way too confusing for her. It's better to leave such details out. No sense in stressing them out, [:-] otherwise you'll get suggestions like "maybe you should give up flying and do something else" and she's probably thinking - like mow the lawn or fix something....[:-]

Thanks SPUD
Well, I borrowed a 16X4w tonight and flew about 7 or 8 flights with it. I have an OS 91 in mine and it Rev'ed about like it did with the 15X4W. I didn't notice too much differance there.
I did notice that it hovered easier, and it slowed it down a little too.....
I'll fly it over the weekend to see if I really like it. So far so good,,,,
Also, I have a Fataba 9C and I was just curious, what Rate, Expo, etc everyone has programmed in for hovering.

Northwing, wasn't trying to correct you just letting people know they are not limited to one plane at that price. The way I go through them I might consider a 6 pack. Man, this thread is getting dangerously close to the 3000 mark. There's only been a couple of threads with anywhere near that kind of posting. Great job guys. And there couldn't be a better plane to discuss.
Thanks
Barry
