I think my Cpp has sticky collective pitch becase no wind is being blown even at high head speeds. Does any one know of a fix to sticky pitch?
thanks

Man 2nd day Flying EVER and I've hovered in one place stable for around 10-15 seconds. It;s becoming eayser each battry. Only crash so far was when it was going forward and I pushed forward insead of back and it ran into a storage box. The only damage thugh is a small chip in the back of the blade near the blade grip and the covering is cracked.
Man I love flying this thing I'll probably leave my gradge soon.

Try a little oil for sticky parts. I use something from radio hack that has teflon bits in it. It comes in a small pen style applicator with a needle type tip. Works very nice.
Also check to make sure your blade gripsare nice and free to move, disconnect linkages and try twisting them. If theyre too tight you may need to remove a shim.
Also check the main hub to be sure it isnt bent. Any slight bend at all and it becomes sticky and wont allow pitch changes. When you twist the blade grips with everything disconnected youll feel it sticking.
If you cant tell the difference between sticky blade grips or sticky main hub, then take hold of the piece that slides on the main hub and slide it by hand. If you feel ANY stick at all replace it.
You may also want to check the spindle to be sure its straight. Take off the lade grips and roll the spindle on something real flat like glass and look for a bad roll.

What is the Heading GYRO for? by the way I am a beginner and have not taken the BCCP out of the box yet. I have heard that upgrading the Gyro makes it easier to fly the BCPP is this true?

A head holding gyro is supposed to keep the tail locked straight in place. Which Im TOLD is very important for stunt flying. So theres no need to keep correcting tail drift, Cuz there is none.
Now this is what Im told. I have a new G90 HH gyro but Im still getting things setup and repaired so I cant say what it actually behaves like yet. I also only hover and slow FF right now, no stunt flying.

Ive now had my cp pro for about 3 weeks and just did upgrades to it last week with 4100 brushless motor, carbon fiber blades, 25 amp ESC, and the heading lock gyro I have to say it's a nice upgrade from previous heli (mini dragonfly). It flies and it hovers like a champ,
as for 3d flying im still trying to perfect on G3 ive only been flying for a little over a year, next thing is to install a 10 amp ESC for the brushless feigao tail motor. You cant even notice 10 mph wind =)))

I don't have a simulator and I used some super glue for the chip and scotch tape for cover it. It worked like it was never hit, but today I hit a glass bottle and the end of the blade got smashed so I repaired it and spun it up but it was shaking a lot so I'm going to get new blades tomaro. I was wondering what blades to get (stock, Carbon fiber, or plastie [I don't think my LHS carries plastie]).
Thanks for all of your help

I bought a BCPP after a buddy let me fly his BCX for a couple of seconds. Been flying Planes now for 6 years, and always wanted a heli, so I took the plunge. Been flying outside and in the garage during eve's and rainy days. Have the hover down tail in, working on sides in.
I stuck the plastic blades on, added one set of flybar weights to slow it down a little, and also followed the 5 series of videos that were linked on a thread here somewhere. The vids made a ton of difference in understanding how this thing works, and how to better set it up.
I get 10 min flights out of the 850 mAh pack, I'm sticking on a set of flat bottom wood blades to see if my flight times improve.
I've smashed the tail boom to "boom strike" now 3 times, mainly due to fear (slamming down on the grass & concrete). I went the midwest carbon fiber route, as it's only $5 for two pieces of tail boom material. The last tail boom piece I had got hit, and I had to CA it back together, then for torsional strength, I lightly wrapped and crossed the entire boom with thread and CA'd it in place. It'll work until I can get to the store and buy another 2 ft length.
I'm a big time penny pincher. I've built and re-built many planes. Just wondering if anyone has built their own blades for these helis. They dont look overly complicated, maybe just that you need some hard balsa???

One other cheapO trick I did for training gear was to buy 0.080 inch X 2 ft carbon fiber, zip tie them to the landing skids (each outside corner), then CA 4 ping pong balls to the ends of the carbon fiber rods (completely through the balls). The build costs ~ $4 compared to the $10 Eflight gear.

How much more duration (flight time) would a brushless motor make??? I've got a Himaxx 2025 with Castle Creations 25 amp ESC lying around from Electric plane days that would fit nicely with this heli. The conversion doesn't look at all complicated. I see others that say the Blade is a completely different anmial though.

One other item worth noting... I adjusted the tracking (as you can imagine it was out after a chicken dance). My flight times improved to 13 minutes from 10 minutes!

The blade CP Pro is an awesome heli! I got it yesterday after about a month of flying the CX and 10 minutes on the simulator at my LHS. Now after one battery pack im flying it in my living room about a foot off the ground! One small problem, the heli wont take off unless the throtle is almost all the way at the top. I noticed that the flybar paddels are a little negitive pitch, could this be the problem?

EDIT: also it makes a really high pitch whistle when it gets up higher on the stick.

Wingman 1331,
You just analyzed your own problem. The flybar paddles should be level, or zero degrees pitch. Just eyeball it to level. You already noticed it was negitive. Just crank it the other way.

I tried the himax 2025 and castle 25 that I had left over from a crashed airplane. Sounded like a good idea but it proved to be way too much torque for the small tail motor to handle. It was pretty much unflyable. I'm thinking about the hacker E3-49 or the eflite 370 brushless. Has anybody tried either of these? I need more power and headspeed for 3d.

The jcs hobby blades do take a beating but after breaking 2 tail booms I had to upgrade to the flight tech upgrade kit with the aluminum tail boom. The blades are super strong but the other weak plastic parts cant handle them.

Choppersrule, even after i set them to 0º it still wouldnt lift off unless you advanced the stick to 7/8ths of the way up.. Im using the JCS plasti-blades.

I had then same problem and all I had to do was to make the pitch links a little longer one or two half turns should do it. Also try putting the throttle trim all the way up.
Hoped this helped

Wingman1331,
Commander Bob is also, right. Give the pitch links a twist, try 1 full turn on each blade. See where your at, and you could add or minus a 1/2 turn. Just keep track of how many turns you make.. The JCS plastic-blades are great, but a tiny bit more in weight. Something else to consider.. But they shouldn't be you main problem...
As Commander Bob said, put the throttle trim all the way up, that not only gives you more head speed, but it also, gives you more positive pitch. I always fly full bore with the throttle trim up. Try it all the way down, fly awhile, land, then put it all the way up. You'll be amazed at the difference.

I'm a Nitro guy who took a break and re-entered with a CP Pro and I have a question or 2...
I'm having to give the chopper A LOT of right tail rudder to take off and keep the nose from swinging around. I saw little snippets about tail rotor motors burning out, what are the signs? Or am I too answering my own question.... I was flying in high grass and I did hang up the tail rotor a few times when touching down... I've also noticed I'm having to give a little more throttle to get into hover. This electric stuff is real new to me here....

Giving right tail rudder is standard on a helicopter to over come the torque of the main blade motor.

Not the normal amount to get it up and hovering, like almost full right.... I've never had to give it full right to keep the nose pointed straight...

HaHa!!
vtl1180ny, you ever fly a heli? J/k, I know you have. Just think it's humerous when someone doesn't read the ENTIRE post. Sounds like you may have given the tail motor a quick life in the grass assuming that you've already tried the gyro gain, good luck. Try giving Horizon a call, their customer service is second to none.
