You can try with these activation codes..... They worked for me, but we think they cancelled them out now possibly....

JPEE ~

For my helmet cam as you were inquiring, I use my face shield for weed-eating in the ol' yard... I take the screen part off, and use only the harness. On the harness there is a place on the adjustable knob in which is flat, and I place a piece of INDUSTRIAL strength velcro there, and then the other piece of velcro on the back flat area of my camera on the viewscreen area, which is only a small piece, as the Industrial strength stuff is so sticky and tough you literally have to pry the camera to remove it...

My camera is just a cheap Wal-Mart brand and is even only 4 mega-pixels but gets the job done... You can get the Industrial strength velcro at like Wal-Mart, or Home-Depot...

My camera, like yours, only saves the videos as .Mov files (QuickTime)... I use Nero 8 Ultra Edition HD for modifiying my videos, and was free using a file sharing program called Limewire... It might take a few tries to find a legite one... I just downloaded this program about a month ago from LimeWire, But have always used the older versions of Nero for a few years and love it ! It will then also convert the .Mov files to whatever you want as you select this option in the directory... I'll convert it then to Mpeg, and then save it, then go to Windows Movie Maker, and it will recognize it so you can use that program also if you wish....

The nice thing with having both, is they offer different things and so you then have a wide variety of options... Nero will also convert to HD, or Blu-Ray also...

So now in return, I expect a video (in time) of that T-28 mister ! And of course priority, don't forget the Blade 400.... Inspire me ! October 3rd, I'am either going for a Trex 500, or a Trex SE V2 and a B-400 together... Hard choices... But the B-400 I think I would like as I would be flying it like I stole it ! And if I did get the 500, I think I would be trying to be careful and thus slowing my progress in my learning curve.......

Take care JPEE,

~ Jeff

Jeff aka J-Michael,

Got your replies, thanks!

Now I am go to show you young wipersnappers how old people make hat cams. Though this was my first shooting. I flew my T-28 and my 400. I had tried to get the telephoto right but still need one more flight to lock in. The camera is adjustable with swivel.
This was all caught on my new home made LOL hard hat heli cam which I will get to in a moment. I shot the videos in YOU TUBE mode settings on my camera and they are a bit snowie. But for some reason one can be viewed in HD??? Also my lens was not out far enough so the bird looks very small and with the gray clouds she was hard to see, BUT the helmet cam worked flawlessly. a little shaky in two places but I turned a few times thinking someone had walked up on me. Once I started seeing how far to push the telephoto lens out it got much better as you will see. Now the helmet cam. I have been watching your "Jeff Michael's" vids from your hat cam and thats why I asked you to see it.

Last night I took apart the 4" tripod I use to video my heli stuff on the bench. So I took my old work hard hat (construction helmet) and drilled a hole in it and mounted the swivel head of the tripod and set the legs aside. It worked great. People came up to me at the park while I wore this helmet with a camera attached on top like a Mohawk and only asked about the plane and helis, they get it! and I was surprised to be honest. That is kinda the nice part of being.....................60 3/4 years old, you don't give a poop what people think. No I dont wear plaid shorts and flower shirts....I am not that far gone yet LOL. But trying to come up with something that would ALWAYS sit like the last time, well this worked great today, what can I say.

OK GUYS HAVE YOUR LAUGH ON ME

Jeff,
Thanks for the pics and info on the MOV. file converson. This has been driving me nuts, nothing I had on file would make the conversion or let me edit. However I must add my camera is a 10 mega pixel, but! I have the abiltiy to run it from 2 to 10 and in HD but then the files get to big to post. It also has a YOU/TUBE mode for filming which is what I used to keep the file size right. But for some reason one of the vids can be seen in HD but the other not. I do know the HD was a smaller file, perhaps thats it.

Hey I read when you were leaving but remind me again and perhaps? we can drive 100 each and meet and I'll bring both 400's and you can test! But I cant get away on a weekend until after the weekend of October 11th. I have my own small business so I can getaway anytime during the week, let me know.

WOW.... That was great ! I'am inspired.... You fly very well ! I love the T-28. I've stared at that so many times at the LHS... I subscribed to your You-Tube account, so everytime you post a new video, I'll get an E-mail notifying me of it. I hope to be where you are at on flying that heli also ! Looking at the heli from the tail, and making a right turn, I just can't do it ! Left hand turns all day and even a little aggressive, but for the life of me, I can't snap into those right hand turns yet...Lol.. I'll get there in time. I need more stick time for one, as right now I'am only averaging 5-6 flights in a month being down here in California, and I need to be on the sim more, as I really don't practice as much as I used to... But since you gave me the link to all those free downloads, that has helped me get excited for it again !

I love your flying area ! I can't find anywhere here like that on the Central Coast here in Cali... Drives me nuts !

Your helmet cam looks great, and reminds me of Wnuk's helmet cam... It must be an old-guy thing heh?! I used to worry what people think also, but nobody cared as there distracted with the RC's and say what a good idea for filming as they glance at the helmet contraption...

I didn't realize your 60 years old... You'd fit right in with the rest of the ol' farts here in there plaid shorts and flower shirts also ! That, and keeping us young guys 'inline' and such...Lol.. Since your into scale flying, you should construct a fuselage for that other B-400 of yours... Someday, that will be my route...

Well, I better go over the Trex a bit more as I think I may have a couple ball-links getting loose and sloppy. Just don't want to take any chances, so I'am swapping them out.

You live very close to one of our original members here on the WHEEEEE thread, Lookyj... He wandered off, but I know he'll be back.... It's in his blood... I hope to see ya around some more here, I like prying you old guys' brains for as much knowledge as I can...

Oh.... In regards to 'testing' your 400... I couldn't muster the nerve to fly someone else's heli !! I'am terrible about that kind of stuff. My dad always tells me to take the Corvette out, but I won't... The guy were building a huge garage for says the same thing, and tells me to take one of his Carerra (SP?) Porche's out and that's a definate no way there ! That things worth more than some folks' houses !! ...Lol.. But yeah, I've been so busy wrapping things up here for my departure, so not sure if it would be possible to meet. But if I do happen to stay a bit longer, I'll take ya up on it ! And I'll let you try the Trex, at your experience level you would love it !

Take care,

~ Jeff

Nice Flying Jpee. Those Trojans. Great flying with the 400 as well!

I figured out why everything looked weird on You-tube some how I had language set to Korean LMAO! Either my kid did it or I hit it by accident. Everything is fine now

I started work on the F-16 I think I may paint it up before flight just for a project. I need to save for a new ESC, I've read countless posted of how the stock one over heats, locks and an results in a crash. This is one neat bird!
Vic, Have you had yours out for a few sorties lately?

God Bless BOB's!

JPEE,

You don't have nothing on me you old fart, I'm 62, heading to 63. Plaid and Flowers are for sissy guys..

Watched both of your videos, man, oh man, excellent flying.. Loved the T-28, good looking plane. The blade 400, gezz, looks like you had it out pretty far at times. (Hard to tell with the video cam though) A few nice piros and then you were off again.

Great job... Love your helmet cam. Infinite adjustments with that set-up.

Take care and keep having a blast,

Jay,

A couple things for ya, one tip and one question.

Tip: If you find that the tail boom wants to slip back into the main frame after some mild(hard) landings and you keep needing to adjust belt tension.. Use a small hose clamp from Napa... It's not my big idea, I got it from Vic.. An it works great.. On the back side of the picture you can see the extra length of the clamp.. I'm going to dremel that off,, I just wanted to make a couple test flights with it on to see if it would work.. Excellent fix. If yours isn't slipping,, eventually it will, just from wear... It's Plastic (main frame). LMAO!

Question: I looking for a faster tail servo, I'm in the NEED FOR SPEED (Top Gun, movie)! I forgot what futaba servo you got.
Us ol' farts do that at times.

God Bless ya Jay, and tell the family the ol' Chopper said "Hi"!

The Futaba 3114's seem to be a great servo so far. It will fit on the tail perfectly.

Hey Dave and crew on this thread, thanks for the kind words. I love my Blades and T-28, they both fly sweet!

Dave, is Choppersrule for motorcycles or Heli "choppers". Back in the day Choppers were harleys? Just in case it meant motorcycles, look what this old man has, a BIG CHOPPER!

LMAO....!! Somehow I can't picture you in that attire... You fooled me enough as it is, with your spunk and the way you bring things across , as I thought I was talking to a younger guy on here the whole time ! It's all in the heart right ?!! I'll be just like that when I get older like the rest of you guys here... We'll be expecting more video's in the future.... I also saved the pics of your camera, and googled them for information on that model. I'am very impressed with the quality from watching your You-Tube videos. Amazing, and not a bad price either ! In time, I'am definately getting one...

Dave ~

I need to decide VERY soon on what to get here... My Trex 450 SA, is only tail blade grips/ inner frame/ motor/ and two inner mounting blocks away from being the SE-V2.... I'am going to put the JAZZ in here in it the next few days. So I may not get the SE-V2, and go with the Trex 500... If I do, I won't be able to afford then, the B-400.... But if I don't get the 500, I'll get the B-400 first, and then the SE-V2 on the next paycheck...

Here's the kicker.... The B-400 at my LHS for the bind and fly is $279.00.... The combo is $399.00.... If I get the bind and fly, I still will have to buy an AR6100 receiver for my DX-7, which is $50.00... That brings the total to approximately $350.00 with tax.... I won't do that.... I'll spend the extra $50-$65 bucks and just get the combo ! Extra cheap crappy battery for maybe a plank, another RTF crappy charger, but good maybe to pass on to someone else. But the main thing as a good extra would be the DX6i... Its no DX-7, but it is still a very good TX...

Crash has the DX-7, Jim already has the DX6i, Rick's already got the DX-7, Lookyj took off but he also has the DX-7, Jay has to many damn planes and heli's to even put on the DX6i ! (10 model memory) So he needs the minumum of the DX-7 which is a 20 model memory, but should go the JR X9303 route.... So that leaves you as a lonely goat on the block not running Spektrum my friend !!

If I go the B-400 route, I'am sending you the DX6i if you would accept the gift from me, and if you feel like you would use it and love it like it deserves ! Getting the RX's like the AR6100's, your on your own however. But there cheap, about $49.00, and they weigh 3.5 grams and you lose those annoying antenna's on your aircraft...

I would like you to use it with nothing in return as you did give me a very great deal on the Logo 10, and all that gear among that.... We'll call it even then... What do ya say ? If you did want it, and offered any monies I would take offense to that and just return the money back so don't even go there mister ! I know you very well, so I'am beating ya to the punch in negotiations....

Remember, I still don't know which way to veer with my decision on a purchase, but if I do go that B-400 route this will be the plan then if you accepted... And besides, isn't it just a joy figuring out a new TX anyway ???!!!

Alright, I gotta run to the LHS now and pick up some solder and stare at stuff for a bit.....

Take care everyone,

Dave / Choppersrule

Dave I just got a Futaba 3154 for the tail of my B400. Speed is /10 sec and 20 oz torque (digital servo). I did a quick hover tonite with some fast piros and all seemed well. I'm actually considering these for cyclic/collective servos too. I want a bit more time with some quick FFF to say for sure if I like it but am impressed thus far.

Jeff I'll look into the program you mentioned for recordings. I posted in the Sim forum here on RCU asking for help last night but not a single reply. There are tons of FS One videos on youtube. I'll get it figured out. Thanks for the links.

JPEE Great videos and flying. Good to see you on this thread!

I guess I don't qualify for the Old Fart Club just yet, I'm only 39[X(]

Get the B400 to really learn on Jeff. It's more then capable and the price is right. The servos seem to be the weakest spot on them. I am REALLY enjoying mine. Once you progressed with the B400 as far as you want to go then look at the 500. That's what my route is.

I do the same thing for my tail boom not slipping !...Lol.. I replaced my tail servo mounts with the MicroHeli ones, so I used one of the old plastic SA mounts, to help secure the boom from shifting any in the event of a crash. It works great and has never slipped... And lightweight at the same token... I cut off the extra from it, so you can't even really see it is there. The one block I need to replace there on that SA is the tail boom block thingy maggigy... I need the aluminum SE-V2 one, as plastic only allows so you to screw and unscrew so many times, until it gets weak and stripped out... Personally, if I could do it all over again I should have just gotten the SE-V2 from the start, as your gonna have to replace that plastic stuff eventually...

O.K. now I need to run to the LHS before they close !! YIKES !

I'm sticking with the goat here on 72mhz. My 7CHP has a 10 model memory, and no... it's not full But I also use my 6XAS for models that need less programing

JPee, that's a bad ride[8D]

Blessings,

Jay

I say we all take up a collection and get this for Vic:

Oh, the things I would do if I had a ton of money!
Lol.... In ALL our dreams right ?! If I had that ton of money Jim, 2 things come to my mind.........One is my passion of landscaping and pruning which we would of course blend with my infatuation of helicopters so I'd probally end up doing this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMQgt5YiD0w

The other of course is the good ol' outdoors and fishing.... Sooooooo...... I would go pick up Jay and probally do this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogMOy...eature=related And yes, of course the Bell 222 for travel maybe... For now, I'll have to settle with the RC heli's as I can hardly afford that !!

Funny thing, is we have 40-50 pound king salmon right here on the Olympic Penninsula of Washington State, and they are tough suckers to get ashore ! You have to be a fast runner on the river bed, because when there hooked, there runnin' hard up or down the river, and sometimes both !!!

Take care,

~ Jeff

Hey Mike,
I have no idea! I can say........ that most bikes Rocket Bikes will beat it in the quarter because of the weight, 1,200 lbs. Also there is the torq issue. If you open the throttle at 60 MPH she will come loose, really! This bike is the economy gas saving model. Mine is only a 350 Chevy, fuel injected, cam infested 415 HP model LOL, they also have 502 big bocks too.
I am told and in the Boss Hoss blogs that this bike will only do 160-180 again due to weight and gearing. As it is now, she is an automatic 2 speed, and you don't shift in to 2nd until 65 mph.
If I just wasn't 60 years old............................... I could "score" because no matter where I pull up, I have a crowd of old and "young" on-lookers! Oh well life ain't fair I guess.

Smiles JPee
