Maybe vertigo can help you out...
Someone did do an electric conversion. I cant remember who. I think he used a regular brushed motor though. Im trying to find a way to do a brushless conversion myself. Im having trouble finding a motor mount that will work though.

What he did looked really easy, he found a mount and a way to put the battery on and shazam.....however I will hold out for an HPI bullet.

wow that beatyourtruck link looks similar to mine. Hate to tell that guy though he did a MT1 (okok at the point he stripped it the only difference is a slipper and body mount posts)

main differences I went the cheapest possible route and even though its a brushed convo I can easily make it brushless (about 3 mins seeing I now own a BL esc and motor). Think I spent a total of $50-60, including a new $30 body for the truck. All I bought was a elec stampede chasis(battery holder) for $10 shipped, cheap L-bracket airplane motor mount $7, and a novak mod-1 pinion $10. The stampede chassis as a battery box does 2 roles at once, it provides a cheap battery box with easy access, and it also acts as a chassis brace that stops the majority of the chassis flex.
It is a little differently laid out now though I bought some delrin rods and finished off the rear to my original plan (still gotta take a pic of it).

Actually once I destroy my Brama 10b with the 8.5t brushless setup, the things chassis is failing due to it being made so cheap(and not from the brushless motor its cracking without it being used yet), I'm guessing the brama will fail after its 1st real run. I was planning on putting it in my MT1 convo.

I was also playing with an idea about shoving an e-savages tranny in it and running it with dual titan 12v 550s but after doing the math I decided it was not cost effective and gave it up seeing I couldn't find a 2nd hand tranny. To assemble a tranny and get the ESC and motors would cost around $160 which would be the price of a very nice BL system

And yes I think the HPI bullet brushless edition looks pretty nice, unlike the recycled lightning 10 nitro one which looks cramped, and hard to work on with limited options.

Looking at that blue groove convo kit. I only got one question where in the world do you shove the battery? I only ask cause the pic of it installed shows their plate with most electronics on the side with the radio is default but shows the motor and ESC on the side where everyone shoves the battery on homebrewed convos so theres no room left for a battery pack that I can see(judging from the 3 low res pics).

some forums are trying to say the Bullet will replace the MT2, and claiming the MT2 is now marked discontinued.
Rumor has it on the European forums the bullet will come out in feb or march also from what I can find.

but honestly I think the nitro bullet probably will tank big time, and probably should not be released (IMO). It doesn't really offer anything over the MT2 (except more shocks which look redundant IMO, and add weight) also it looks harder to work on.

Now the brushless edition might take off due to the lack of 4wd ST's in the 1/10th scale set, I see it fairly often WANT 1/10th SCALE ST in the elec forum. It also looks very simply put together and easy to work on. Personally after looking at some other recent HPI models that were abandoned in under a year(E-savage, Brama 10b, and Cyber 10), I'm hesitant to buy anything new that they make, (the e-savage I do not own but looked for parts to slap on my modded MT1, and could only find 1 dealer on ebay with them...) and think that reputation might just haunt them with this things release. I know its going to hold me up in purchasing one, because I don't want to be stuck with a $350 RC that I cannot find a single part for, or have to pay high premiums due to rarity in a year.(can we say $40 Brama 10b bodies...)

Hmm, not sure. That would be interesting to see though. I dont know if it would be a fair comparison though with one being a SC setup and this more of a truggy. I would think the bullet would be a little more stable with the wider wheel base but not sure.

I like the bullet and think its a great replacement for the MT series. I've said this before, but the MT2 is getting dated and the newer layout of the bullet is more with the times. Holding a firestorm and MT2 side by side made this obvious to me. I like the larger wheels...the lightning tempted me a lot in the past because I think its a really neat truck and is built well.

I have my final part to complete my MT2 and it will be sold in the spring along with a few other trucks. Sad to see it go but there is no use in having an army of RCs when you only burn 3-4 gallons a year. I will stay loyal to this great thread, though.

I think the bullet will kill a SC truck - the SCs are designed to handle sloppy.

Congrats on the new truck and welcome to the forum.
That TZ has a crazy amount of power. You will not be disappointed. Just dont do 180's on full throttle or you will shred your diffs.
The stock tires dont hook up to well on the tracks. You should look for something in a pin type tire, they work much better.
The fuel tubing is the best solution to keep the dogbones from falling out. Just be careful if you use DB with too small a diameter. They will twist under the TZ power and they will eat up the drive cups.
And be careful with the alum a-arms. They are great for on road but they tend to bend rather then flex when used in off road jumping.
Lets see some pictures of the truck too.
