Composite-ARF Integral, kinda build thread
#301
Hi all.
I just test flew my new Integral.
My setup is:
YS 1.60 DZ with hatori short muffler
APC 18.1X10 prop
TP 1320 LI-PO and powerbox digi-switch
JR 8241 for rudder
2 X JR 3401 for elevator
2 X JR 9401 for ailerons
JR 341 for throttle
Scan select R790 is the receiver
CG is a bit forward so I will try a lighter prop like mejzlik modellbau 18X10
After 6 flights I have only one problem so far, I can not hear the horrible whistles!
Is there any way to prevent it?
Thanks in advance
Ram

I see my pal, just back for the nats is reading up on the build thread. Ya go back to the nats buy a new plane cheap and don't bring anything back for the wife? Shame, shame. I know your name. and it's Mr. Tape.

Great to see Integral at first and second at the NATS!!!! Congrats to Jason and Andrew.
Jason
Can you share the set-up difference between your NATs plane and the original one in this thread?
Where was the CG?
Colin.

I've a CARF Integral all White.
Does anyone has measured the wing and tail incidence, as it come? Values?
Whats your opinion about changing the wing and tail fixed incidence, to variable incidence with Gator adjusters?

Has anyone been flying the Integral on an OS-160 Two-Stroke or an OS-200 (non-FI) engine?
How do the compare on power?
I am trying to put together a budget for this airplane and would like some information.
Thanks

Any chance of pictures of your model inside and out with details of your setup, flying weight etc.......
Is their an electric version of the Comp ARF Integral coming out??????
Did you both fly the stock comp arf model.
Thanks.

bzrogers,
Thanks for your reply I am aware it can be set-up for electric, but their may be weight issues. I was wondering would a lighter electric version be produced.

I think you should check ZNline and or Composite ARF web sites.
http://www.composite-arf.com.hk/ar/Product?701000
Click on Electric power Hacker.
It's JPz' Integral, stock airplane with the hacker engine, most popular engine set up in europe !
Well below 5 kg no stress, don't try to reinvent anything, just do like JPZ !

Hey all,
I will post some pics of my pattern plane when I can get some pics. The kits that I got were not special just normal kits that come out of the mold. My integrals that were flown at the Nats weighed in at 10.8 pounds and 10.7. This is with C-50 Comp's, spin 99 speed controls, futaba 9155 on rudder, 9650 on elevator, 9550 on wings and a 10s1p 5000 Extreme. I would bet to say that if you flew with the old 5300's that the plane could come in at about 10 and a quarter pounds.
I will post some more info on the plane when I get home from work.
Thanks for all the congrats I know I was very excited to be on the team with two people that are great friends and heros of mine.

Hi Andrew,
Congratulations.
Could you comment on the 9550 servos on the wings? I am also interested in trying them out on mine, but some inputs on how well they function in this application would help to finalize the decision.
TIA,
Kevin

Kevin,
The 9550's work great as aileron servos. I've flown them for years. Small and compact. I will say that over the course of a season flying glow you will probably have to change the gears. The metal gears wear quite a bit flying glow. If you are flying electric, you probably wont have any problems,

Archie,
Thank you for the input, and I will give them a try. Small and compact is the main motivation, plus they are a little lighter at 1.6oz each.
Since I am running glow, I will pay attention to the gears towards later part of the season to see how long they will last - hopefully longer than one season.

I have a quick question on your Integral. Did you retrofit wing or stab adjusters into your planes or just fly factory settings? How about CG?
thanks and congrats again

Bryan,
Thanks, I think the only difference between my kit and Jason's is how thick the paint was put on and his full size servos in the wings. He was running 9156's. I do know that they came at about the same time from the same container.
Don,
As far as wing and stab incidence, I left it how it was. It takes a little bit of mix to get the plane flying knife edge true but other then the pitch to the belly its not bad at all. It also presents very well and seems to not fly with a tail down attitude like my brio did.

Kevin,
You'll be able to tell when they start to wear when you will have to start retrimming the ailerons from flight to flight. I got about half a season out of mine, but I tend to fly quite a bit, at least I was then. They do work great though, and changing the gears isnt that hard. Expensive since you have to change the metal gear, but really not that hard to do.

Where did you place your CG?
In earlier posts Jason flew the OS200 powered version at 205mm but some on the list said that this was too far aft. I'm going to set mine up using a DZ and would l ike to know if I need the servos in the tail for the best CG.
Thanks
Colin.

Would really appreciate it.

Hi Colin
My Integral powered by DZ 1.60 and my elevator servos are in the tail.
After 7 flights I felt that my model is nose heavy so I moved for an 18X10 carbon prop which lighter then APC 18.1X10. Now the CG is better but yet not sure if it is the best CG.
I will check it again this weekend and update here.
