Capiche 50 e SUCCESS ! AT last....
Well..... it goes like this...
14x7 E Apc prop... drawing 45 amps on full chat... just about what I wanted, not would the prop be any good and have I solved my cut out problems...
Well, I only had two short flights yesterday 1 x 4min, then 1 x 6 min... so the answer is YES the cut out problem is sorted and must have been temperature related as I suspected... the esc is now in the cowl cheek directly in the air flow.
I will try some more manouvres today but all seems well, harriers are very effective, vertical is unlimited.... knife edge seems really noise on one side and a bit un stable, but quiet and solid the other.... I think I have too much right thrust ....
I will know better today..
I have to say though that I prefer my ic one... that is near perfect, but then it is over a lb lighter !

It is possible to cut covering material in a vinyl cutter. The backer sheet is removed from the covering and applied to 2 thickness transfer sheet (sitcky side up on the backer sheet and sticky side down on the covering material). The lamination sheets should be the same size so the adhesive doesn't clog the drive dogs in the plotter.

Thanks Cap, but im confused as to what "2 thickness transfer sheet" is?
i was about to try sticking using spray mount, the film inculding the backing to wallpaper lining paper, after cutting you should be able to peel the film from the stuck backing..
if i get you correctly the film is stuck without the backing to this "transfer sheet", this dosn't damage the film or ruin the heat glue?
If you want to move this off topic subject to another section then please do so Cap

heres an update on the repair of my Capiche 50.
This is a view of the top of the Fuselage and the modified former with the grain "going in a better direction. Also note the re-inforcements along the sides of the place where the canopy goes.
Has anybody experimented with the position of the canopy?
If you move the canopy forward a bit it might make a small difference to the already superb Knife edge performance. I know The Boy says that it probably wont make any difference, i just like tinkering!

From: Jersey,
glad to hear it !
we had our show this weekend and my highlights were flying... you guessed it... my capiche....
I will soon hopefully be getting a second one built... if I lost this one I would be gutted so I want a back up.
getting real comfy with the model now even though I only had about 20 flights wih it... and I every time I fly it I get more and more comfortable.... mostly getting used to the limited power. must change that engine....
got some great torque rolls going too this weekend and lots of other stuff that has got names...
Crackin Harriers and a harrier landing from 500 ft to the tarmac at my feet...
sweet !

looks like i have more rudder, but that elevator is WAY over 3d rates isnt it?
like the art over the C, is that standard on all IS sticker sheets?
talking of which,i deciphered "2 thickness transfer sheet" it's more or less a big roll of masking tape.. we've had some cutting sucscess, so get down your local graphics shop and tell them to mirror your image, put the film face down on the masking tape, put that onto another layer, cut it out. make sure the knife is cutting between the wheels not corners ( gets caught ) and bingo, you've got graphics.. just need to find the right blade and settings now for perfect cuts.

Philly, yes it is... begs the question why go through all that bother... just buy the decal set !
Luke, that elev is almost as much as I have, but I use this for 3D only... cant fly it in a straight line very well with that... perfect for trouble free harriers..
just make sure you have a quarter of that for normal flying
no pics received yet !

Thats not the full amount of movement ive got on the rudder. I think ive got a bit less throw than that on the elevator.Unfortunately it still needs setting up properly. Hopefully i will be doing some harrier landings next time i fly it.

Colin aka DAD!!
If you fly it with your cg (as noted at the Freestyles) and those kinda throws!!!!
It will end in tears. TRUST ME!!!
Make sure you are REAL happy with your switches this time!!
Take off on low rate. Get comfy and sorted then try the "Burty Big Bannana stuff" and get used to switching between the two. I found dropping out of high rate very hard at first because 9 out of 10 times I was completely stalled and on massive throws!!
You must learn to power up get forward speed and hit lower rates all at the same time. [:-]
Good luck Malc

OK malc!
Thanks for your concern......
The elevator throw in the pic isnt the throw i have got round to using yet. Its just the amount that its capable of being.
Ive gone in a hole on all the servo arms now,
and i have now got all the low rates on one big 3 position switch which is sleeved in fuel tubing so i cant mistake it for another.40-50% expo is going on the controls as well.
I think have sent some pics to you archie.
There is still some more trim to put on it. How long will it be until the judging is done?
