LOl............. we are all on a bling craze here! If we all got together and somebody pulled out a shiney object, we would all automatically start drooling.
got the servos working properly, just happened to go thru the TX model memory and there was some settings for a saber from the previous owner. Had the Tx on long enough to get the low battery alarm so will charge it overnite. Getting closer to installing blades and trying to track them. May adjust the main shaft height again, did once already today then centered the servos, almost binding at the top so will work on that a little. Just might be flyable by midweek if things keep clicking. Would love to find a Futaba owner that has a 6EXH to compare settings with.
Choppers, I did the servo wire wrap like you showed, it only makes sense, I used to work on 24V control systems and all of our pairs were twisted too.
crash, excellent idea on the canopy grommet idea.......... I've looked at it a couple times and I like the idea. Funny how things grow on all of us. Still all in all................. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.................. Blade CP!
lookyj, looks really good, got a lot better mesh on that gear now.

Doh! How do TX settings change overnite? I am back to where I was with servos not playing nice. Funny thing is, it all worked last nite perfectly, I did raise the main shaft up to give the swash more travel but how that changed servo functions is beyond me. I might have switched the AIL and ELE servo plugs, I will have to check that next I guess. I never did check it again after twisting the servo wires all together. that has to be it. Other wise I will have to unwrap all 3 servo wires, and start from scratch. And I just got it all wrapped up and lookin purty too! Wheeeeeeeeeeeee............... Blade CP!

Wow! Just got my $100 ebay rex kit - just a 450xl hde but I'm impressed. Don't know what I was expecting but it was new unopened and came the the bling aluminum carrying case. I found an Xcopter motor and speed control for $30 shipped and am saving for the cf cde frame set for $76. Once I have that and the servo's I can start assembling. I will need a swashplate for the cde conversion and I should have something close to a 450sa with cf frame for $240 or so plus radio equip. and batteries (I think, still much to learn though).
I might stop by the lhs on the way home for more stock CP parts - another frame, some main shafts and tail stands so I can keep tinkering with these parts birds in between flights. Got a frame put together last night with motor, shaft and skids. Needs radio equipment and the rotor head checked and reassembled tonight.

Have any of you guys installed the head dampening shins E-Flite Sells? It supposed to tighten up the cyclic repsonse. I bought them today but am unsure where the shims actually go on the spindle.

I believe those go in between your O rings and the inner stepped washer, next to the rotor hub.
wick, quit buying up all the good stuff! You found a kit for 100 bones? WTG bud!
crash, servo's were plugged in backwards so had to unwrap em and mark each one after I fixed it, then wrap em back up! I am such a dork sometimes. Next issue at hand, Even with the programmable radio I am unable to reverse the collective pitch. So am gonna have to flip blade grips and the flybar inner frame dealie ( I am not sure what its called) and then am ready to go buy a darn scale, I have major wobble going on just starting to spool up. I have my second throttle point set at 21% right now, didn't want to take off to quick until I get a smooth wobble free spool up.

I try not to buy anything, I really do!
I really thought someone would outbid me at the end but that's where it stayed. So I've started the rex thing months sooner than I intended to... What can you do?
Wnuk I put my shims as Arrow suggested, between the o-rings and the stepped bearing washer. I don't know how much they have helped but I do know that the side slop was causing one blade grip to not rotate as freely as the other because the spindle (feathering shaft) was not centered in the o-rings.

Wick246,
Your quote,
"Has anyone tried one of those ferrous rings for interference?
Also I found this, don't know if it's worth the cost but there are main shaft straightening tools out there.

Wick:
I fortunately don't have any glitch problems, however the ferrous rings do work, I work at the phone company for 29 years and they use them all the time..
Alot of the guys, put there rings on the motor leads, this motors on the CP's due put out some signal interefence, Usually, it depends on what channel you're using.
The site with the main shaft straighten-er upper thing. It's a good, idea, the one in the picture sure looks home made, nothing wrong with that... Bet I could make one out of hardwood, a couple thumb screws and a few main shaft bearings.

Wnuk,
See Lookj's post number 1480, first picture. He has the bearing and shims laid out in order of installation. Remeber the tiny washer with the ridge.... The Ridge always points towards the bearing.

Choppersrule Here:
Update on my Rebuild with brushless motor and G90 gyro..
See pictures,,, Over a week and this is all I have done, just been busy..
Got the main frame, tail boom, tail housing put together, Ran the wires for the tail rotor, and made sure I installed the upper and lower bearings in the main frame and the two bearings in the tail.. Not much progress at all.

As far as the tool goes...depends on how many main shafts you bend. I've bent a few. I got two unopened mains in the drawer along with a spindle...had them quite a while. So it's not like I'm buying 2 a week or something. I'd say buy a couple spare mains and spindles and sit on them. After all, the objective is to fly...not hit stuff but it does happen on occasion.

"I'd say buy a couple spare mains and spindles and sit on them."
You picked the one part on the blade that you wouldn't want to sit on.
"It was a one in a million shot!" [X(]
Agreed with the spares crash, also a homemade setup like chopper suggested might be just the ticket. I'm still wondering how perfect you can get them with any tool once they have been distorted.
