WOW. Nice find ericem. I just added that to my wish list. And yes with that box the bigger pack should fit then.
This is the larger pack I run in my Savage http://www.batteryspace.com/index.as...OD&ProdID=1927
It works great.

well i have a spare traxxas 1100nimh pack from my revo so i charged that up and using it for now till i start the break in process.. after that i'll start using something better.... looks like i have to upgrade my steering servo too... the stock one is pretty weak.
maybe i'll try 1600 nimh battery pack on it and see how much difference it makes

I had a racer edge pack as well I used in my MGT same problem. I just went to some cheap pack on ebay been working awesome. In the ST-1 IMO stick fits the best.

Those are the same size packs. I hate racers edge though. I had nothing but problems with their batteries, they wouldnt hold a charge.

the packs i got are racers edge and i just recharged them today, they lasted through 9 tanks of fuel. maybe you got some with some bad cells, who knows it happens

Im not sure either Jombo. I tried contacting Racers Edge some many times I lost count and they never responded so I just gave up and threw the pack on the side. Last week I got in contact with a vendor that deals with them and he managed to get it replaced with a larger capacity pack for me. So we'll have to see if this one is any better. I still dont plan on buying anything from Racers Edge because of their lack of customer support.

Whatever you do, DO NOT BUY THAT STARTER BOX. That is the one that my dad bought for me and its crap. The wheel turns the wrong way and to make it go the right way you would have to turn the motor assembly around and use an external power source or connect the battery in reverse ie. + to - and - to +. Also the ST-1 chassis is too big for it so you can only use 1 of the placement knobs which is a useless help. It will work but, if you dont mind aligning it by eye every time and risk burning out the motors after a while from having the battery connected backwards. Im looking to buy another asap, mine did burn out but lucky it was only cheap

As starter boxes go.
I think the [link=http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/1_23_52/products_id/12542]OFNA Truggy Starter Starter Box[/link] is the best one out.

I just looked in its 1 page manual and it IS possible to pull it apart and move the wheel over but then you still have the problem of not being able to use the alignment knobs. Still, i would say keep looking
